I hear you on that. I just scraped down 2 walls in 2 rooms to get rid of little bumps, the last people just painted over anything. Now I'm going to point up both sets of walls. While that is drying I'm going to wet sand my dining room and hopefully paint that tonight. If the other walls dry quick, then I will wet sand and paint them tonight also.
