Personally I view it as this. You are entirely correct in saying that the populations of both were experiencing inactivity and that was the whole purpose of the merge in the first case. We as people, as human beings, are growing and getting older. Its a fact of life that we are changing but nothing it changing here. Everything is the same or a sorry attempt to change which just ends up complicating. Now that we are together, returning will only increase activity as the player base for both regions lessen. Whats done is done and nothing can change the merger. I believe the succession is a nail in the coffin for a player base who wants activity and the feelings that these regions once gave. Out of all the PM's, no slander whatsoever, not one government had done anything really. Nobody has put in any work. If nobody is putting in the effort here, why would they put in the effort in their old home regions which now need more rebuilding because they were left behind. If any action is to be taken, I think that we need to incorporate more Mystical council government, whilst stimulating roleplay through well documented (dispatches) and easy enough to understand roleplay and timeliness so that new players aren't discouraged and we can encourage a healthy roleplaying environment. There's many more details that need to be worked out but in my opinion this is what needs to happen, what should happen, and how I feel about the seemingly imminent succession crisis.
