The President is the Head of State and is above the government and the Parliament. The Prime Minister is a member of the party that has the majority in the National Assembly. The PM is the Head of Government, appointed by the President and is accountable to Parliament. The Parliament can overthrow the government.

Basically, the 5th Republic is a mix between a parliamentary system like Australia (or Canada, the UK, the Netherlands, ...) and a presidential system like the US.

If you have a look at the government website, you will see that the President does not appear, because the President is not a member of the government.
