Yeah, everyone talks about how the U.S is going to plunge into civil war, but the truth is both sides are simply too weak or apathetic to actually start any long lasting war. Any insurrection would just be subdued by the U.S military, who would never support violent revolutionaries of either side.

The only way is through private militaries and not even those are strong enough to go toe-to-toe with the US military.

my country has socialistic constitution. it ruled that all vital industry is owned by the govt (that includes energy, water supply, and capital goods)

and the result..

electricity is expensive and unsteady
clean water is scarce despite its source is abundant
gasoline has high lead content and expensive

government control of economy sucks.

I'd agree, the same story here. Although, things have gotten better after we liberalised the economy in 1992.

but it's funny how socialists in my class at the university argue that if those aspect of economy is privatised, prices will go up and poor regions will be left behind because private enterprise doesn't have the incentive to develop underdeveloped regions.

when i answered "well, our government has existed for 75 years, why there still be underdeveloped regions despite of your argument?" they went full defensive and started calling names~

unfortunately, ordinary students bought their argument.
