The Kingdom of Mardalengoth has been monitoring events unfolding in other parts of Europe with great interest. In light of the recent events affecting Turkey several travel warnings have been issued by the Utrikesdepartementet for any citizens in the country or planning to travel to the country. In relation to the events in the Ottoman Empire, the local government of Stockholm will be allocating resources to allow for a temporarily increased police presence in the neighborhood of Fittja to ward off violent acts and confrontations from pro or anti coup protestors which may occur.

The Kingdom of Mardalengoth recognizes the view of a need for change by some in the Ottoman nation however Mardalengoth believes in a peaceful and democratic means of change in a political system as opposed to warfare and violence and condemn the attacks on government institutions and other spaces during this so called 'coup attempt'.

The Turkic State wrote:Failed Coup Attempt

ISTANBUL - A major coup attempt was made last night with the Ottoman Empire witnessing one of the bloodiest coup attempts in its political history last night when an anti monarchy section of the Ottoman military launched a coordinated operation in several major cities to topple the government and unseat Sultan Orhan II.

Separatist soldiers and tanks took to the streets and numerous explosions were heard in Ankara and Istanbul.

Ottoman fighter jets fired missiles at their own parliament building, while the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Yilmaz Demirkol, was kidnapped by his own security team.

At first, it looked like the Ottoman State was going to face another devastating military coup.

But as the news of the coup attempt spread via social media, thousands of ordinary citizens, armed with kitchen utensils and sticks, gathered in streets and squares around the Empire to resist the separatist Army faction.

The crowds resisted tanks and air bombardments and with the help of police forces and loyalist soldiers, they defeated the coup attempt in a matter of hours. The government declared swift victory and numerous groups and units of anti-goverment troops, that had taken part in the coup, surrendered on the Bosphorus Bridge in Istanbul.

2,304 others were injured.

Perpertrators of the Coup

The Ottoman government blames the failed coup attempt on Demir Turgut, a former 4-star General of the Army.

The separatist Army general is accused of treason and is wanted by the Ottoman Supreme Court. The general and his clique were disenchanted with the current monarchical order and were inspired by the military coup which has happened earlier in Misr Alkubraa

The separatist general wanted to overthrow the royal dynasty and wanted to establish a new republic. But unlike what happaned in Egypt, the Ottoman coup attempt was unsuccessful thanks to the swift reaction by the authorities and the devotion of the people.

OTTOMAN COUP DENOUNCED BY THE CENTRAL GOVERNMENT, COULD POTENTIALLY THREATEN STABLITY OF MIDDLE EAST, EXPERTS SAY

With the recent Ottoman failed coup attempt, images and videos of the resistance put up by ordinary citizens in several Ottoman cities have spread through social media and Iranian news throughout the country. Large demonstrations have occured in several cities in the Shirvan and Azerbaijan ostanha (provinces) in support of the Ottoman people, with protestors waving Azeri and some Ottoman flags in solidarity.

"It truly is heartwarming to see ordinary Ottoman people, armed with nothing but forks and knives, bravely stand up to the treason of those that tried to cause a collapse of the Ottoman Empire. While we have had our differences, this is one moment where we should stand in solidarity in honor of those who were killed and injured to protect their country," spoke Wuzurg Framadar Gaanjia during a session of the Mehestan the day after the attempted coup.

An official declaration of condemnation of those participating in the coup passed in the Mehestan 757 to 43, with main opposition from the far-right United People's Alliance and the far-left Worker's Party of Iran, who claim that the coup could be used to kill the Ottoman Empire and rid Iran of a "morally corrupt pest," and "bring about a glorious revolution for the advancement of socialism," respectively. The declaration calls for the "delivery of justice through a free and fair trial to those responsible for such an act of inciting hatred and a government change of the Ottoman Empire."

Many political experts throughout Iran have voiced their concerns about the recent instabilities and coups in Middle Eastern countries, especially regarding Egypt and the Ottoman Empire. One such person is Professor Afsar Jogi of the Kurus University in Spahan. Here is an excerpt from a coversation with Fire Network, an online news website focusing on foreign politics.

Fire Network: "Prof. Jogi, the recent failed Ottoman military coup, as you said previously, was due to discontent with the existing regime. What do you think would have happened if the coup managed to succeed?"

Prof. Jogi: "Well, it's certainly very difficult to see such an anti-monarchist movement last for so long. You saw the people in Ankara, Izmir, Gaziantep, Antalya, Istanbul, rising up barehanded and stopping the coup dead in its tracks. This kind of loyalty to one's government and nation makes anti-government action a pain to accomplish. So I wouldn't expect such a military junta to last for long. Assuming though, that the existing power structure is wiped out, let's say the whole of the military turns to the junta, as unrealistic as it seems, then you have that same problem. The junta controls the cities. What about the countryside and the nation as a whole? Securing the Ottoman state would be monumental and quite difficult to do. Again, assuming the coup succeeded, with this loyalty to your rulers, such a movement would be overthrown by the people."

Fire Network: "Prof. Jogi, do you think a coup could happen within Iran sometime in the future?"

Prof. Jogi: "Me personally, I don't think so. Iran has strong political institutions. Iran's not an authoritarian monarchy. We've moved on from our past and learned to improve. The Iranian people are not brainwashed into absolute loyality or anything like that. Iran is a stable, democratic nation, where the people trust in governmental institutions. Key difference between Iran and the Ottoman Empire. There, the people swear loyalty to the monarchy, but many also secretly harbor discontent. It's simply too complicated for a format such as this, I need hours to explain the Ottoman machine. Am I worried for Iran? No."

State of Emregncy Lifted

Following the failed coup attempted last night, the goverment declared that the national state of emergency has been ended after the situation has stablised. The Royal Cabinet has issued an announcement that the travel to the country is safe and there is nothing to worry about, while giving specific assurances of safety and order to the embassies of Zeleniya and Mardalengoth. Tourism is a big sector of the Ottoman economy so the goverment is doing evrything in its power to enforce law and order in the country following the coup attempt.

VICTORY DAY CELEBRATIONS OCCUR THROUGHOUT IRAN

OOC: I planned this for April 23, but NS blew up, so pretend this occured on April 23.

The streets of Rhages, Tawres, Sanabad, Spahan, and other cities and towns exude with celebration and excitement throughout Iran. In Shahyad Square, a massive military parade attended by His Majesty, Ardashir VI, and over 5 million Iranians roar with the chants of yasnas, and the ferocity of Iranians. Massive public prayers made up of many thousands of people are held around large holy fires, in honor of the 50,000 brave Sasanian soldiers who fought at Nahavand. People celebrate in the streets with the Derafsh Kaviani as large processions gather, eyes of many millions strong gleaming with happiness.

What happened at Nahavand? In February 642 AD, the Sasanian Empire bravely defended the Iranian heartland from the Rashidun Caliphate, a growing threat to the Sasanians. The Muslim conquerers swept through Mesopotamia, pillaging cities, towns, and laying waste to everything, no matter how big or small. Homes were looted, men murdered, and the women and children sold throughout the expanding Caliphate, their fates unknown. The Caliphate found itself at the Zagros Mountains, a large, imposing, and difficult mountain range for the invaders to plague with their barbarism. Several attempts to break through were thwarted, saving Iran from the barbaric Rashiduns.

In the year 642, however, Said ibn Abi Waqqas waited no more. With his army of nearly 55,000 strong, he boldly invaded the Iranian heartland, making use of a natural valley between two imposing peaks. The Rashidun cavalry would struggle, as the great Zagros cliffs slowed their advance. Their speed would be of no use in Iran. As they marched on, laying waste to villages like a plague, a large, experienced, and brave force assembled at Nahavand, a key logistical city for the Sasanians. Gathering at the Nahavand Castle and surrounding forts, the Sasanians prepared for a brutal fight. Losing Nahavand would certainly mean a collapse of the Sasanian Empire.

As the Rashiduns invaded, they hit hard, attempting to strike at the Nahavand Castle itself. However, wave after wave of Rashidun soldiers could not punch through as stiff resistance was encountered. Ibn Abi Waqqas knew such bold tactics would cause him to lose, so he tried to divert the Sasanians' attention. However, the experienced general, Mardanshah, knew of such tactics by the Rashiduns, and learned of them, growing to outsmart the Rashiduns. As they attacked on all fronts, the Sasanians were prepared, bravely defending the city. However, the Rashidun skill and constant attacks were taking a toll on the Sasanians, as slowly, parts of Nahavand began to fall, although not easily. By April 22, nearly 10,000 Sasanians had been martyred, taking similar numbers of Rashiduns. Slowly, the invaders began to position themselves around the imposing Nahavand castle. They would attack at dawm.

As the sun rose on April 23, they came. Like a swift and deadly disease, they scaled the walls, trying to climb on top, but were knocked off. Wave after wave of Rashiduns invaded, with no success. Suddenly, at midday, it became calm. An uncharacteristic lull happened, as Ibn Abi Waqqas rerouted his troops for a large frontal assault. As the Rashiduns assembled, Mardanshah saw them ready to attack. He ordered his soldiers out in battle formations, preparing to die for the enemy. However, he would have a surprise.

As the Rashiduns charged forward, the Sasanians retreated. Wait, what? They retreated? But how? When they came forward, the Rashiduns, believing the Sasanians to be fleeing, charged further. However, it was all a trap. Like a snare encapsulating the Rashiduns, the Sasanian armies swung from both sides of the battlefield, closing the Rashiduns in a circle of blood, swords and death. Ibn Abi Waqqas was killed during the fighting, with the majority of Rashiduns killed, and roughly 1,000 soldiers captured, tortured, and brutally executed. The victory at Nahavand preserved the Sasanian Empire, and permanently secured the future of its people. The Caliphate nevertheless expanded westward, razing those civilizations one by one, after their defeat at the hands of the Iranians.

The day of April 23 has been celebrated every year from the Sasanian reconquest of Iran from 1507 onwards as a testament to the courage, strength, ferocity, and tenacity that Iranian have to their brothers and sisters and the great nation.

Devastating Floods hit Infiny's Southern States

The Southern Parts of the Imperial Federation are currently suffering from a freak flood, affecting many households in the states of Rhàptá, Dárica, and Ceniyá. The floods have been primarily devastating to the poorer outskirts of major cities, with over 200 dead and over 100.000 people displaced.

The floods are primarily caused by heavy rains. These rains are a consequence of the climate phenomenon El Niño. While Infiny has recently made significant efforts to limit the effects of extreme weather and climate change, these efforts have proven insufficient. The material damage, displaced people, and deceased people show that there is still a very long way to go for the Imperial Federation to set up functional water management and flooding preparations. "It's the purpose of the state to serve its people. If it fails to protect its people, it fails as a state. That protection includes from war, from criminality, from abuse, but also from the cruelty of nature," commented Prime Minister Cyseia on the tragedy.

With the damage expected to be in the billions of dollars, the Imperial Federation is currently putting together an immediate relief package to shelter the displaced, subsidize farmers whose yields have been destroyed, and assist local businesses in managing their losses. Additional questions have been raised in the Sobiraniya about further efforts to prevent such destruction in the future, including better draining facilities, room for rivers, and affordable ways for Infiny's poor to shield their homes from the water.

IRANIANS SUPPORT INFINY AS GOVERNMENT ORGANIZES AID PACKAGE

With the recent flash floods in Infiny, Iranian people have voiced their concerns on social media as videos have surfaced showing the horrible floods. Iran was hit with several floods in an unusually wet week-long period earlier this month, with damages in the hundreds of millions of dollars in Hormuz, Fars, Deylam, and Govasir, among other cities. Due to Iranian resources being stretched in affected areas of the Iranian floods, the Central Government has announced that Iran cannot send as big an aid package to Infiny as the situation warrants. However, a $20 million (Ð100 million) aid package to assist Infinians in the flood has been announced by the Ministry of Health & Welfare, alongside the sending of several hundred flood specialists, doctors, emergency responders, and 3,000 volunteers to help aid Infinians during these troubled times.

"Infiny is our friend. Iran cannot let such horrible disasters be ignored. We shall extend our hand to Infiny and her people in these times," remarked Wuzurg Framadar Gaanjia on the situation.

Govt. announces aid package for flood-hit Infiny
IMD proposes meteorological collaboration, joint satellite

By Senior Correspondent
28th April, 2024

__________________________________________________________

Ujjain – In an act of solidarity and support, the Government of India has proposed a significant aid package and scientific collaboration to the Imperial Federation of Infiny, which is grappling with the aftermath of severe floods. The floods, induced by the El Niño climate phenomenon, have led to a humanitarian crisis with over 200 deaths and the displacement of more than 100,000 people.

The Indian government's offer, which is pending acceptance from Infiny, includes immediate financial assistance and relief supplies to alleviate the suffering of the flood-affected populations. The specifics of the financial aid are yet to be disclosed, but it is expected to be in line with India's commitment to aiding neighboring countries in times of natural calamities.

Furthermore, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has suggested a scientific partnership with Infiny's meteorological authority to improve weather forecasting and climate analysis. This collaboration aims to develop a better understanding of the monsoon systems and cyclonic activities over the Arabian Sea and the Indian Ocean, which significantly influence Infiny's weather patterns.

The IMD's proposal includes the exchange of meteorological data, joint research initiatives, and capacity building for Infiny's meteorological personnel. The collaboration is also expected to involve the launch of a joint satellite mission with the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), which will provide critical data for advanced weather monitoring and disaster management.

Prime Minister Cyseia comments on Foreign Assistance

"In response to the international assistance that our friends have so generously offered us, I can only extend my wholehearted gratitude. It is times like these that our friends in Iran-e, Banglades h and Indhiya mean to us. I speak for all Infinians when I say that the assistance and money the Iranian, Bangla and Indian people spare for us speak highly of their character, and of the friendship we so deeply cherish."

It goes without saying that all means of the Federal government are at the disposal of our kind friends. As of current, the damage is estimated to be around 7.5 billion USD. We are putting together an immediate relief package for those affected, and are negotiating with the change to take up the burden of rebuilding and restoring that what was lost. We are additionally taking further measures to scope and prepare for more intense El Niños in the future, given how climate change will further affect the Imperial Federation. Thereforee, we welcome the suggestion of the Indian Meteorological Department to jointly monitor weather patterns over the Indian Ocean and the Arabian Sea, and to jointly pursue the launch of a joint sattelite to safeguard Indians and Infinians from ecological disasters.

In other news, the Empress' Private Secretary has confirmed that Her Imperial Majesty Valeria II will travel to the disaster area immediately, to support the victims of this major ecological tragedy. She will travel between Nairobi, Mombasa and Rhaptá for three days. Afterwards, she is set to go a visit to Misr Alkubraa, to talk with the Egyptian President about further diplomatic cooperation, security, and economic ties. Political analysts are dubbing it a crucial meeting for the diplomatic stability and security of East Africa, and are certain to fllow it closely.

Australasian Broadcasting Company (ABC) News

Analysis: With federal election looming, Maggie Ng has to convince voters to give her another shot
By Andrew Francis

Compared to most other countries with longer legislative terms, Australasia's every-three-year election cycle makes it feel like we are constantly at the polls. This feeling is even more acute because for Australasians, voting is compulsory, meaning no matter how politically engaged you are (or aren't) you have to have your say in some form. But while you voters at home may be groaning about having to figure out how to number their mandatory full preferential ballots next month, spare a thought for our dear politicians who have to put their careers on the line again, much sooner than most would like.

No politician is this more true for than for our own Prime Minister, Maggie Ng. Swept to power amidst nasty factional infighting and backstabbing in the two-term Democratic Labor (and a rotating cast of minor party friends) government, Ms. Ng's National Union Party and their Country Alliance partners came on with three simple promises: bring back stability to the Australasian government; address the rampant cost of living crisis; and open Australasia up to the world. While some could argue they have accomplished the first of those promises, at least relative to the tumultuous days of the Nathaniel Liew and Anne Wong terms, the last two have been woefully neglected. Inflation remains high, housing in the cities is almost unattainable for many, and despite pledges of liberalizing Australasian commerce, protectionism on the Australasian coal, steel, and manufacturing industries remain in place. In addition to this, a brutally hot summer and mass bleaching events off the Great Barrier Reef have galvanized student protesters across the nation, with environmentalists asking what exactly the self-billed 'green conservative' Maggie Ng planned to do to address climate change. Combine all of this with frequent and often very emotionally charged clashes over Aboriginal issues with the Aboriginal Voice-controlled Aboriginal Parliament and a high press profile for her often combative Deputy Prime Minister during her maternal leave, and its hard not to ask: How will Maggie Ng hold on?

While campaigning hasn't started yet, Maggie Ng and the National Union Party's strategy so far seems to be twofold: Enact tax breaks aimed at middle class families with children and remind voters of the chaos that preceded the present government. On the former, Ng has bought her government some leverage in the more wealthy to middle-class urban areas her party often relies on for voters, but risks alienating many more people still struggling to make rent payments or afford basic necessities in urban Sydney and Melbourne. Essentially, she might be able to claw back a few seats National Union lost to the United Future Party, but in doing so risks losing even more to Democratic Labor in inner urban areas. As far as the latter goes, relying on memories of Democratic Labor chaos in the prior term is a risky game. On one hand, many voters are still skeptical of the official opposition's unity and ability to conduct itself as a responsible government, which may well feed into the National Union Party's narrative and goals. On the other though, Democratic Labor leader Garrett McLoughlin has made a strong effort to heal the factional divide in his party and commit to rebuilding as a big tent labor-based democratic political movement, and some polls suggest this may be enough for some voters who broke for National Union at the last election to "return home" so to speak.

Its uncertain what the next election holds, but one thing is clear: this will not be a walk in the park for the incumbent government to remain in place. Equally important to note though is that Maggie Ng isn't out yet, and while she faces numerous challenges in communicating with voters, she could very well pull off another term. But to do so, she is going to have to develop a strategy beyond pointing to Democratic Labor's past failings and focusing on issues that matter to voters, chiefly including housing costs, climate change, and, more recently, policing issues.

Iran-e wrote:VICTORY DAY CELEBRATIONS OCCUR THROUGHOUT IRAN

President Karadov joins Brazillian Ambassador for Brazillian Barbeque

In an apparent diplomatic event, President Felix Karadov joined the Brazillian Ambassador to Zeleniya Rogerio Hamamura Flores along with dozens of enthusiastic guests for a public dinner at the grand opening of Zeleniya's first Fogo de Chão. Located in the high-end, now-Brazillian owned Tsavvassen Mills mall in the South Suvorovo district of Tsavvassen, the Brazillian Barbeque joint is the fourth of it's kind and the first of Fogo de Chão to enter the Zeleniyan market. During the event, press were mostly kept a distance from the restaurant at the behest of establishment owners who were reportedly insistent on "not having the media harass valuable customers" on the opening night of the restaurant. This did not, however, stop some photographers from capturing photos of the President eating. Several photos of President Karadov eating a large stack of meat with the Ambassador surfaced online with many either showering praise and compliments or poking fun at and criticizing him. Far-right Senator Christopher Li took the opportunity to mock Karadov on Twitter, calling him a "clumsy glutton" and dubbing the event as #BarbequeGate. However, supporters of Karadov were quick to fire back at Li and other critics with the subsequent hashtag "#MiseryGate."

Federal Judge dismisses emotional injury lawsuit against ex-Z-POP Idol by SMJ Entertainment followed-up by surprise announcement

The Federal District Court of Central Yelizovo has handed SMJ Entertainment (the largest Z-POP label in Zeleniya) a legal defeat, dismissing a protracted, unpublicized civil lawsuit brought against former 3G (GOGOGIRLS) idol and frontwoman Aurora. Originally filed on grounds of "conspiracy to inflict grave emotional injury," news of the lawsuit caught many Z-POP insiders by surprise, particularly those who had followed the tumultuous relationship between SMJ Entertainment and Aurora, who originally joined SMJ as a Z-POP Trainee in 2004 and becoming apart of 3G (known at the time as GOGOGIRLS), the label's first internationally renowned girl group of whom Aurora was a frontwoman from their debut in 2005 until her apparent (and still unexplained) departure in 2017. With the nature of the lawsuit being relatively unknown to virtually all of Z-POP and SMJ being particularly silent about any news regarding it, some insiders allege that the lawsuit may involve "something major" brought about by Aurora, who was seen by Z-POP papparazi going in-and-out of Pinewood Studios in the UK with German Z-POP idol Ivone Köppen and other covered figures several months earlier. Remarking on the latest court ruling, Ivone Köppen posted on Twitter: "Burn it down."

In a significant and solemn announcement from the United Kingdom, the highest military award, the Victoria Cross, is being awarded to two members of the British Special Forces for their extraordinary bravery during a covert operation in Western Romania, specifically in the Turco-Bulgaria region. This area, notable for its strategic importance and tumultuous history, recently witnessed these exemplary acts of valor.

The recipients are Sergeant Oliver Hammond of the Special Air Service (SAS) and Corporal Nathanial Fox of the Special Boat Service (SBS). These two units are among the most elite in the British armed forces, known for their rigorous training and exceptional performance in high-risk environments.

The action that led to this prestigious recognition occurred during a covert rescue operation. Sergeant Hammond and Corporal Fox were part of a joint SAS-SBS team tasked with rescuing hostages taken by a heavily armed separatist group. The operation was fraught with danger due to the well-armed and strategically positioned adversaries.

Sergeant Hammond led the initial breach under heavy fire, using a combination of tactical acumen and raw courage to neutralize sentinel posts without alerting the entire enemy force. His actions allowed for a surprise element that was crucial in the mission's success.

Corporal Fox, an expert in close-quarters combat, spearheaded the hostage extraction. Displaying remarkable composure and sharp reflexes, he managed to secure the hostages and neutralize threats within confined and unpredictable environments. His quick decision-making and protective actions ensured the safety of all hostages.

The operation, executed under the cover of darkness and in hostile territory, was a textbook example of precision, teamwork, and heroism. Both Sergeant Hammond and Corporal Fox exhibited qualities that embody the spirit of the Victoria Cross: valor, self-sacrifice, and devotion to duty, even at the risk of their own lives.

Their actions not only secured the lives of innocent civilians but also significantly impacted the stability of the region, preventing further escalation of conflict. The United Kingdom, by awarding these two heroes the Victoria Cross, recognizes their indomitable courage and pivotal roles in a mission that highlights the effectiveness and bravery of British Special Forces.

The United Kingdom is set to honor three of its brave Special Forces personnel with the Conspicuous Gallantry Cross, which is given for acts of exceptional courage and dedication under fire. This prestigious recognition comes following their involvement in a critical operation in Western Romania, specifically in the Turco-Bulgaria region.

The honorees are Lance Corporal Emily Roberts and Sergeant Michael Johnson from the Special Air Service (SAS), along with Petty Officer Simon Clarke from the Special Boat Service (SBS). Each demonstrated extraordinary bravery and commitment in the face of direct enemy engagement during a complex operation aimed at destabilizing a hostile force that had entrenched itself in the region.

Lance Corporal Roberts, acting as a medic within her unit, showed conspicuous gallantry when her team was ambushed during a reconnaissance mission. Despite sustaining injuries, she administered critical first aid to wounded comrades under heavy fire, undoubtedly saving lives and maintaining the operational capacity of her team.

Sergeant Johnson displayed exceptional leadership and valor during the same ambush. With multiple members of his unit severely wounded, he orchestrated a counter-assault, regaining control of the situation and facilitating a strategic withdrawal, all while exposed to enemy fire. His actions prevented further casualties and played a decisive role in the mission’s eventual success.

Petty Officer Clarke was involved in a separate near-simultaneous operation targeting key enemy communications hubs. His team was compromised and came under intense enemy fire. Despite suffering serious injuries, Clarke managed to maintain the operational integrity of his team's communications equipment, ensuring continued tactical coordination and support, which was critical to the success of the broader mission.

These three service members displayed valor and resilience under the most extreme conditions. Their courage, quick thinking, and selflessness were vital in achieving strategic objectives and safeguarding the lives of their fellow soldiers. The Conspicuous Gallantry Cross honors their bravery and unwavering commitment to their duties and comrades.
