            P. Ananya survives a failed assassination attempt in Colombo
            August 8th

The controversial democratically elected Prime Minister of Sri Lanka, P. Ananya, is in a stable condition after an attempted assassination attempt in Pettah, Colombo.

Ananya was only a few minutes from Fort, the central business district of Colombo, where she was about to make a speach at the old Parliament Building. While being driven across Olcott Mawatha, her convoy was stopped after an accident closed both westbound lanes. A split second after the convoy (4 uniAIMOVs and a Mercedes-Benz C-Class) were stopped,
the Prime Minister's Mercedes was sqiftly ambushed by 5 men in tactical gear after a van pulled up on the other side of the road.

Armed with MP5 machine guns, the 5 men stormed the car, opening fire on the Prime Minister before the convoy returned the favour. Ananya, amist the chaos, was ushered into one of the armoured cars from the convoy while the shootout continued. After 2 minutes, all five assassins were dead, and Ananya was swiftly escorted to a secret location and her speach at the old parliament building cancelled. No one from the convoy was killed, although the driver of the Mercedes C-Class was seriously injured.

The van the five men broke out of is still at large. A 2020 white Ford Transit van with a Northern Provinces' number plate reading 'PMR 2009,' although database checks show that no registration plate with that number and letter combination have ever been released in the Northern Province. The reason this plate was never put into service, and the reason most intellegence suspects this plate was used, is due to the association with Mahinda Rajapaksa (full name Percy Mahinda Rajapaksa), who was president during the bloodiest years of the Sri Lankan Civil War, including the Mullivaikkal Massacre in May 2009 in the Northern Province, which saw a week-long shelling of a UN no fire zone and makeshift hospital by the Sri Lankan Government.

"It's a taunt and an insult," one government spokesperson said, "this plate never existed, which means they went out of their way to put as offensive a licence plate as possible on their vehicle. There is no doubt in anyone's mind that [the number plate] is a clear reference to the events of May 2009."

All five men were killed. While the names of the 5 men haven't been announced to the public, investigaters have confirmed that at two of the men were heavily involved with Silva's Legacy, a terrorist organisation in the Northern Provinces inspired by Kaluhandhilage Hemachandra Silva's suicide bombing of a bus stop last June in Paratan that killed 15 Tamils. Another has been linked with the NFADSL, but the remaining two men are yet to be linked with any terrorist organisations. The government has released some information on the men, saying all five men were Sinhalese, Buddhist, and from the Northern Provinces. The guns used were the same as used by the Sri Lankan Armed Forces prior to last year's military split.

The attack comes the same day that 300 French forces arrive in Sri Lanka, something the government has called 'a godsend' as the country continues to fall into chaos.

Prime Minister P. Ananya was sent to the National Hospital with minor injuries. It is understood the Prime Minister has been taken to a secret location to recover. She has not made any public appearance or statement since the attack, other than a small tweet confirming that she was still alive followed by a cheeky expletive.

The surrounding area has been shut down with all civilians and the media blocked from entering the heavily guarded area. A no fly zone has also been issued around the area. Riots and protests continue in other parts of the city, with a heightened sense of alert that there could be another attack.

Nazahah Arabiya Condemns Assassination Attempt on Sri Lankan PM Ananya

Bismillah ar-Rahman, ir-Raheem, as-salaamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh. We here in Nazahah Arabiya condemn the terrorist NFADSL group and urge the international community to do the same. This latest act of violence is just another in a string of horrendous atrocities, but praises to Allah that Ananya survived the attempt and may Allah protect her and the Sri Lankan people at large from the NFADSL fanatic thugs. We continue to monitor the situation in Sri Lanka with concern, and in shaa Allah the crises in the country can be peacefully resolved for the benefit of all Sri Lankan people. We hope that the French forces can be of assistance to the Sri Lankan security forces as they battle the terrorists in their midst, in shaa Allah they shall triumph.

Terrorism is the lowest form of political activity, as far as we are concerned, whether it is groups like NFADSL or so-called "Islamic" groups like the Al-Shalu Brigades (may Allah condemn them). The ends do not always justify the means, as far as we are concerned, even if the ends are establishing an independent homeland, or an "Islamic state", or a sovereign republic against an imperialist occupier. Causing fear and seeking vengeance through such violence is sadly common in the world today, and we denounce it in all forms. May Allah protect us all from terrorism, warfare, crises, and other such tribulations of the dunya, Ameen.

PHILIPPINES TO DISPATCH 750 OFWS TO YEMEN TO SUPPORT NATIONBUILDING EFFORTS

MANILA, 8/11 -- The Philippines is known around the world for exporting skilled or unskilled workers by the hundreds of thousands. Under the presidency of former president Ferdinand Marcos Sr., the Philippines made itself known in the world with the exporting of OFWs, or Offshore Filipino Workers, who went abroad to take on low-level jobs like secretaries, construction workers, domestic helpers, etc., and sent back remittances to financially support their family at home. OFW remittances are one of the largest sources of income for the country, bringing in well over $36 billion USD annually.

During the pandemic, the OFW business slowed as travel was curtailed globally and as workers were repatriated at home where jobs were limited, causing a slowdown in the massive service industry.

However, an agreement made today between the Philippines and the new government of Yemen was made in hopes to strengthen the OFW industry post-pandemic. Negotiations between Yemeni representatives and the Department of Foreign Affairs led to the signing of an agreement today for the dispatching of 750 volunteer OFWs to Yemen to support their nationbuilding efforts. Alongside these 750 workers will see the establishment of an expanded embassy in Sana'a, where a Philippine armed security team of 25 will remain to protect the welfare and wellbeing of the OFWs.

'Despite the risks presented by the unstable nature of Yemeni society,' Foreign Secretary Enrique Manalo stated, 'the Philippines is ready to support Yemeni nationbuilding as they prepare to rebuild and recover after their lethal civil war'.

The Philippines voted to allow Yemen a seat in the United Nations this week.

Iran buy out United in controversial deal, in what many see as a "Backward Step" for new domestic policy

It was September 2020 when Culture Secretary Martin Beckett, who had been appointed after the victory of UKIP in the 2019 General election, had announced his intention for the majority of Premier League clubs to be domestically owned. Although it wasn't necessarily a law which needed passing, it was intended for the Premier League Assembly, formed in 2018, to have a larger representation of views, and to have election every 5 seasons, and is set for another election next summer. Beckett worked with under-secretary for Sport, Dave Clinton, to attempt to see-off the Saudi Arabian buy-out in Newcastle, seeing it as another way for foreign countries to meddle in the UK. Clinton attempted to push a law while the takeover was in progress, which would block the buyer from buying the club into further notice, however, was scrapped due to lack of cabinet support. Beckett set a new agenda after the 21/22 season, looking to push a more aggressive policy on foreign ownership, and would look to gradually drift towards at least 10 English clubs to be owned by British-born or British companies.

It seemed the recent announcement that Afsharid Investment Fund had bought Manchester United for £2 Billion pounds may be the last straw in terms of foreign investment. Despite fan support of the takeover, with 58% of the Manchester United Supporters Trust supporting the takeover, seeing it as a new slate for a club who has seen a lack of success in the last 5 years. However, it seems criticism of the Irani Takeover is coming from both the government and the Premier League. A recent poll, covering football fans's opinions on the takeover, saw that only 39% of fans are in support of the new owners, 28% had a neutral view, 20% had a negative view, seeing it either harming the club or harming the Premier League's foundations, and with the remaining 13% unsure of the takeover. Despite a mixed bag in terms of opinion, the Premier League's announcement over blocking any bid for a foreign take-over has been deemed as the first step for more domestic-based ownership.

The announcement saw a follow-up, in which announced a set of clubs, all foreign-owned, which the government would look to force the current owners out and replace them with British-born owners. The most notable of clubs is Chinese-owned Wolverhampton Wanderers, in which the Chairmen of the Premier Leauge, Peter McCormick, looked to invite potential British investors. Although the government and the Premier League have worked hand in hand to prevent the Premier League being dominated by foreign owners, it seems McCormick is looking to block any offers for this season. With 14 clubs foreign-owned, smaller clubs such as Wolverhampton and Nottingham seem to the first of potentially many foreign-owned clubs to become British-owned.

However, it is the prospect of government action in which many clubs are worried. If the government back the plan for the majority of Premier League clubs to be British-owned, it could partially fund investors to buy clubs, with a percentage of the stake being owned by the government. Although government intervention into such an issue has unheard of, some see it as necessary to prevent an over-saturation of foreign owners in the Top Flight.

President Dahlan visit to Persia 'very positive' says officials

August 11, 2022

Prime Minister Ahmadinejad being handed a Kuffiya by the Palestinian delegation (Credit: AP)

By Jamila Abdelkader

Arriving at Tehran yesterday, President Dahlan along with his delegation met with Ahmadinejad and Shah Afshar. According to officials, the meeting was extremely positive, with local Iranian Media even having reported that Dahlan and the Shah drove through Persia's famed deserts in the Shah's expensive Rezvani Beast, where the Shah gave Dahlan a personal tour of the country's majestic landscape

One of the biggest news to come out of the meeting was the signing of an official contract to sell 90% stake of the Gaza Marine gas field to the National Persian Gas Company for a figure estimated to be about US$ 3 billion. The deal is expected to boost the Palestinian coffers quite a bit, with the cash injection giving breathing room for the newly independent Palestinian state to be able to pay it's debts and reinvest in other areas.

Another economic deal saw the signing of a contract with Iran Khodro to create a new manufacturing plant in the Jordan valley. The deal will also see Palestine pay to purchase a license for the production of the car, while the company will see to the building of the plant

On the military front, President Dahlan said that Fatah is 'committed' to the stability of the Middle East, and that it will be ready to participate in joint missions with Persia to fight insurgents and Salafist-Jihadist groups such as Jundallah that threaten the stability of countries around them. This will allow for Palestinian soldiers to gain valuable experience fighting against those kinds of insurgents.

President Dahlan has reportedly given the approval stamp for Fatah's armed wing to join the war against Jundallah

In other news, Persian investors have began the process of upgrading training and youth facilities of Hilal al-Quds football club. After concluding the meeting with both the Shah and Prime Minister, President Dahlan has now flied to the holy city of Medina where he is set to meet with Arabian leadership

            An Almighty Comeback
Prime Minister P. Ananya makes her first public appearance since assassination attempt
            August 11th

In a move that some critics have called 'a little bit over the top,' Prime Minister P. Ananya has come back more powerful than ever. Ananya's first appearance since her assassination attempt three days ago, where her convoy was blocked and ambushed by 5 heavily armed men, was on a humble stage in front of the old Parliament Building, where the government currently sits and where Ananya was supposed to make an announcement on Monday (8th).Except maybe humble isn't the right word.

A few hundred people gathered in the Port district in front of the Parliament Building, where there sat a stage. All of a sudden, columns of fire burst out from the stage as 'Back in Black' by Australian rock band AC/DC played over the loudspeakers. The Prime Minister, fully dressed in black, rose from below the stage, before walking up to the podium as the crowd went wild. As she took to the stage, the spectacular extravaganza of an introduction faded as the Prime Minister made her speech (in between cheers and calls from the crowd), which was televised live and nationally.

"Vanakkam Ilaṅkai! I'm still alive!

Three days ago, Five feeble-minded sh!t-for-brains decided they could take me out. How wrong they were! Within a few minutes of their attack, my security team had shot them dead. Bang Bang Bang Bang Bang! Some of my team were injured, and my driver remains in a serious condition. He too fought back, and I appauld the bravery of all those who fought against the traitorous scum on Monday. I would like to personally thank the ten men who protected me; Manjulage Thiran Indika, Lalithge Himesh Silva, Nirvid Vasanti, Tissage Wasantha Chamara, Hridhaan Chhaya, Arnvit Darsh, Elangage Ranganee Dharmadasa, Kavindage Achala Yappa, Dakshith Shlok, and Aditya Ajay. I would certainly not be alive today if it were not for these men and women. Please show them your appreciation.

These terrorists are lowly creatures. I am fluent in Tamil, Sinhala, and English, yet I still do not have enough words to express my disgust at their behaviour. They are not human, and they should not be looked upon with pity but with distaste. These unpleasant savages have caused great pain and humiliation to this country and her people. They have torn our flagpoles out of the ground and impaled us with them, while laughing at our decaying bodies.

To call them animals, barbarians, beasts, monsters, would be a grand insult to monsters and beasts. These bloodthirsty orgres know no humanity, they are a threat to our people and our country. They spread lies and tear us apart from within. They believe their hereditary, their blood, their sweet Appa, gives them some right to use us and abuse us. They are disillusioned and for some reason believe they are superior to us. They do not care about us. They do not care for us.

The whole world can see they are terrorists now. But we have always known that. They have denied our people simple things, no food, no water. To protect us from the monsters of this country they became the monsters of this country, but the threat they want to protect us from has been a product of their abuse. They think we are stupid, they think we will let them get away with this, they think we will forget.

For centuries, there have been some elites and some people with not enough brainpower to turn on a small light. They have used their race and their religion to suppress all those who differ. Even worse, many of those who have gathered here today share their faith and their race, yet they are still treated lesser than a rubbish dump! Now that the tables have turned, they cry to their long deceased parents that the oppressed have become the oppressors.

I am not weak. We are not weak. The Sri Lankan people are not so foolish anymore as to genuinely believe the lies and deceit previous governments have shown.

I and many others of the Tamil race have watched our mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters, slaughtered by these terrorists. We have watched the military cut down our people like a lawnmower cuts down grass. When I was a child, the streets I played in were bright red with the blood of my people. While children in Europe had dolls of plastic, we had dolls of bones. These brutes treated us like we were nothing. When we tried to stand up for ourselves, we were labelled terrorists and monsters. We were shelled relentlessly as we already lay in pieces along the streets.

Sinhala allies thought they were safe. They stood up and they said, 'We are but one people, do not lay a hand on them!' and the brutes put a hole through their head and watched emotionlessly as their brains leaked out. They have no heart, they have no remorse.

We have seen this and experienced it first hand. In April we saw their true colours, we saw them for what they truly are; Nothing less than Putams. We have seen their savagery, they have not changed from their primitive ways they showed to us during the Civil War, and if anything they are worse.

I can stand before you today and talk about how each Rajapaksa brother and their koomuttai pooloombi scumbag worshipers are, but to what use is that? We all know how awful and intolerable they are!

Sri Lanka, we must unite together. We must toss aside our differences, which are superficial and imagined, and unite together for the greater good. As much as 5 individual fingers can do no harm lest they combined to form a fist, we cannot fight as a divided state in very much the same way.

The blood we have shed, the tears we have wept, those we have lost and those we never had. We must funnel our anger, our angst, our despair, and our sadness into productive means of seizing the country we own. We as Sri Lankans have been denied our own nation, our own homes. By a coward! Nanmai poruttu this is our home! Yet we sit by in suffering and mourn? We have risen up in the past, just to be defeated by our pain! I know we are stronger than that!

The world appears to have turned it’s back on Sri Lanka. There is not too much hope for us there. There have been rumours for the French and for the Americans, and I hope they come true, but this is not a war they can win. This is a war we must win, and yes I said the ‘w’ word.

We must fight! Men, women, children, take to the streets. If you cannot fight, then support those who will. These cowards must be brought down, we must seek vengeance for all those we have lost. In a Sri Lanka where the racist ultranationalists have oppressed our people are gone, we can truly prosper, and we can truly live in peace.

To think oneself higher than another for the colour of your skin, the language of your tongue, the origin of your ancestors, is an antiquated idea that has oppressed innocent and hard working people for centuries. Did the Americans not see themselves greater than the black man? Did the Chinese not see themselves greater than the Tibetan man? Did the Nazis not see themselves greater than the Jew?

Wherever one’s hierarchy is determined by race, genocide must follow. The Tamils know this too well. So do our Sinhala allies, who have grown by the day, because they have woken up from the idea of racial superiority that has divided this nation. This is what I meant earlier by the united fist.

The languages of the savages are simple. It is not one taught in our schools. The native tongue of these bastards is not Tamil, it is not Sinhala, it is not English. They only speak the language of violence, and we do not have an option but to speak their language and hope that they listen."

Updates and Routes

Carlos Benevidez had decided to head to Santiago to deliver an update on his Doble A project in which he'd meet Michele Bachelet. Benevidez and Bachelet would head to a restaurant for the meeting and Benevidez would report that 80% of hotel plans were drafted and ready with some having standalone houses to rent. Several wineries would pair up with some of the smaller bed and breakfasts becoming an exclusive distributor and the b&bs would offer discounts for the wineries products and tours and tastes. A few midrange hotels would partner with some travel companies to host hikers at and be close to some of the trailheads and vehicular tours. Unbeknownst to Bachelet a few million was somehow lost in the paperwork and would be set aside for Benevidez to build himself a villa with a view in the foothills of the Andes. President Kirchner was unavailable as she was in Ushuaia attending an economic meeting to discuss ways to assist the Tierra del Fuego regions insular residents and addressing the transportation issues that they were facing with getting goods in and out of the region. Many suggested adding more ferry routes to the different islands and for the more flat islands repairing the roads and adding more roadways.

Government successfully pass "NHS Reform Package" despite United Opposition

Farage's government, a coalition government between UKIP and the Tories, have just passed a package of laws, set to try and give alternative routes of healthcare, mostly due to a growing workforce crises in the NHS and decreased in efficiency, and looked to also increase wages, mostly to combat growing inflation in the country. The Package was introduced in late July, and was, as many of the recent laws set up by UKIP or the Tories, was highly controversial. Many, including several Tory MP's, saw the bill as a desperate attempt to the solve the crises, seeing a lack of public spending on the NHS and lack of funding, but shifting towards trying to give British families an alternative. Although privatisation was not on the government agenda, focusing on cutting immigration, introducing trade schools, decreasing unemployment, cutting benefits and to "empower the British People", a growing NHS crises forced the government to act.

Opposition parties, including leader of the Labour Party, Jeremy Corbyn, opposed the package, calling if it passed to be a "disaster for the British people". He accused Farage and his government's support of the package as "prioritising economic advantages against the people's voice". It saw once again a United Opposition against the bill, in which saw the chances of the more controversial bills in the package, such as the deregulation of the pharmaceutical market and privatising GP Services.

Voting took place at 11:00 on the 12th August, 2022, with all MP's casting their ballots for all bills within the package, which was 5 bills.

DOCUMENT OF PARTICULAR IMPORTANCE | ส-พ

Recommendation on Acquisition L-02S2565/Y

Report as Requested by Comrades of the Revolutionary Military Council

Potential Acquisition L-02S2565/Y, vessel HIDA, of the JMSDF, has been assessed for purchase and for operations and integration into the People's Navy, for a proposed sum of $400 million USD. Below are the current specifications provided to us by the manufacturers and by the Government of Japan.

    TONNAGE : 13950 TONS STANDARD - 19000 TONS LOADED
    LENGTH : 197 M
    BEAM : 33 M
    DRAFT : 7 M
    PROPULSION : COGAG / x 4 ISHIKAWAJIMA HARIMA GAS TURBINES, 2-SHAFT 5-BLADED CP PROP, 100000 SHAFT HP (75 MW)
    SPEED : > 30 KNOTS / 56 KM/H
    SENSORS : OYQ-10, FCS-2 AAW, OQQ-21 ASW, NOLQ-3C EQ, OPS-20C
ARMAMENT : TO BE DELETED - SEPARATE ASSESSMENT OF REPLACEMENT SYSTEMS PENDING
AVIATION FACILITIES : FLIGHT DECK, ENCLOSED HANGAR

Utilizing the measurement tools (refer to Report 0098-EIO-0807) provided to the assessment team by the Sib Thanwa Shipyards, all dimensions are verified to be correct and accurate as per the provided specifications, most (refer to Report 7655-EGT-4232) propulsion systems operating at or within ± 1% of the manufacturers' specifications of specific components, and all electronics are working at maximum potential with no evidence of imminent failure as verified by the attached team from the Naval Engineering Department. A demonstration by shipboard JMSDF personnel also reflected the accuracy of the systems' purported capabilities and the Hida's respectable overall ocean-going capability.

The vessel itself is 10 years old, roughly 2~3 years over the current lifespan of most active warships within the current Tai fleet, though this by no means makes it an obsolete vessel, and indeed the vessel is still competitive with newer, competing designs. This committee's assessment of the L-02S2565/Y is therefore positive, and with the additional benefits of a delivery within the next financial year as well as shipboard training by the JMSDF of the incoming TPN air and naval crews.
The acquisition will undoubtedly increase the TPN's ASW capabilities, the design itself enabling the hosting and launching of ASW and utility assets several times greater than that of existing TPN vessels. Furthermore, the potential experience to be gained from this acquisition would serve well to lay the groundwork for a future TPN carrier force. Acquiring a vessel of such a type has also long been a TPN priority, stretching back to the near-acquisition of a Navantia-built light carrier in the late 90s (Acquisition L-12M2535/S-R).

However, necessary integration measures will need to be carried out on the Hida such that instantaneous data-sharing with the rest of the fleet is possible. At present, only the Sib Thanwa Shipyards are capable of overhauling a vessel of this size. Refits or repairs for this vessel will also have to take place at Sattahip, though within a few years Chinese-supported efforts to expand the TSPR's Bangkok shipyards means that the issue of congestion shall be a temporary one. Another concern is that the vessel is being procured from a US Treaty Ally. A spontaneous conflict that will activate the terms of either the PA or PACTO is extremely unlikely (Refer to the Political Research Institute's Address to the Federal Congress), with the unofficial, cordial relationship enjoyed by the Tai People's Navy with the Japanese arms industry also serving as another pillar of stability to this prospective deal.

Overall, the potential gain by the People's Navy from this transaction, in the opinion of the Committee, considerably outweighs the potential cons. With the proposed unit cost of roughly a Type 054A/T frigate, and the already existing TPN air assets for a Carrier-based air wing, the purchase of the Hida is therefore STRONGLY RECOMMENDED by the August Committee of the Department of Procurement and Assessment.

Project 885K Set to Continue

Project 885K, the Tai Navy's acquisition of Korean-designed frigates and the associated technology transfer, thought to have been cancelled with the lack of orders for additional units since the commissioning of the first in 2019, appears to have been revived, with Bangkok inking off on a $920 million deal for two additional frigates of the type with Korean shipbuilder DSME. The lead vessel, believed to have been commissioned as the RRT Tachin, is a 3,700 ton frigate, and is reportedly armed with a Thai-supplied, licensed version of the Chinese H/PJ-26 gun, 8 KVLS cells and 8 anti-ship SSM-700Ks, with other assorted systems. The vessel was modelled on the Korean KDX-I Destroyer, with stealth characteristics. The two upcoming vessels will be more heavily armed, with both set to be armed with 16 KVLS cells, Thai state broadcaster VOTP confirms, with delivery set to be in the 2022-2023 period.

A member of the class will be built locally at the Sattahip Sib Thanwa shipyards with Korean technological assistance, while another will be built in Korea by DSME. The Sib Thanwa shipyards have previously assembled warships of local and Chinese design. The Project represents a step forward towards the diversification of local shipbuilding techniques and design, with the election of a reformist Politburo having doubtlessly brought this program forward. A further order for a vessel of this type has been confirmed for FY 2022, with the TPLN's short-term goals involving the replacement of the obsolete Type 053T patrol frigates, in service since the 90s. Bangkok, however, may be eyeballing the acquisition of up to 6 vessels of this type in total, as part of a general inclination towards a larger, more capable Tai Navy.

Gwanggaeto

Second Phase of 885K Concludes

The second and third hulls of the Tachin-class guided missile frigate have completed fitting-out, and are set to commence sea trials before both vessels are commissioned sometime in mid October. The warships, likely to be named the Maeklong and the Chao Phraya, are equipped with roughly double the vertical launch cells of the lead ship, the RRT Tachin, with 16 cells instead of 8. Indeed, the Tachin is likely set to receive a refit to increase her VLS count upon the delivery of her sister ships. The class, based on earlier Korean destroyers, was envisioned as a well-armed patrol frigate class to supplement the ocean-going Type 054A/T, which currently forms the backbone of the TPN's frigate force, though the almost prohibitively high price tags of each of those Korean-built vessels in comparison to Chinese designs might very well mean that the production line will end at just three vessels built. Regardless, construction of the third vessel in Tai shipyards and the associated technology transfer have provided Tai shipbuilders with Korean know-how and design processes, offering an alternate viewpoint and new ideas for the domestic maritime industry.

In addition, the Korean People's Navy has greenlighted the transfer of two soon-to-be retired Pohang-class corvettes to the TPN, as part of Seoul's PA commitments. Intended to serve as patrol corvettes, the vessels will also provide an insight to potential contender navies also currently operating the model, transferred by the Koreans prior to the formation of PACTO. The Tai Navy thanked their Korean counterparts in a statement issued on the 10th, acknowledging cordial bilateral relations between the two navies. The corvettes, formerly named the KPN Daechon and Sokcho, have been rechristened the Dokchaba and the Dokbua, the former named after Korea's national flower. The vessels are expected to reach Sattahip by the end of the month.

            Suva Port Naval Base
Naval base opens in Suva, Fiji
            August 13th

Lauthala Bay, 12 minutes east of central Suva, is home to Australia's newest naval base. The 18,000 square meter block in Lauthala Bay's industrial area will serve as a multipurpose naval facility surrounded by a bay of the same name.

The base was initally meant to solely be a refueling point for Australian vessels transversing the Pacific, which has become a far more common occurance since TPA and PACTO, due to the limited capacity of Australia's vessels (especially smaller ones). However, a study of the area found that a training and communications facility would also be benefital.

The property, named FANB Suva Port, will house a refueling station, two ports (although for longer vessels like frigates only one can be used at a time), two residential buildings (capable of holding 400 each), two buildings and a courtyard for general training, a sports pitch, a communications building, as well as general port facilities, security, and first aid buildings.

GRAND VİZİER MEVLÜT PAŞA ANNOUNCES THAT HE WILL RUN FOR A FOURTH TERM

İSTANBUL– Rumors had been circulating for nearly three months if Grand Vizier Mevlüt Paşa would seek a fourth term, as the nations longest serving Grand Vizier, İsmail Enver Paşa, served for three terms before retiring from politics.

First becoming Grand Vizier on the heels of the no confidence vote against the (Freedom and Accord Party) would see early elections, bringing the (Union and Progress Party) back to power in late 2008. Mevlüt Paşa served his first term fully, however during his second term early elections were triggered over the collapse of the coalition government between the (Union and Progress Party) and the (Conservative Movement Party). Mevlüt Paşa's third term is set to end on the second of October.

Many had already begun looking within the (Freedom and Accord Party), as well as to the leaders of other political parties as protentional replacements for Mevlüt Paşa if had decided to honor the tradition set by İsmail Enver Paşa.

When the Office of the Grand Vizier of the Sublime Ottoman Realm announced that the Grand Vizier would be holding a rally in capital on the 13th, many presumed it would be an announcement of his retirement.

However as he began his speech, it soon became clear that Grand Vizier Mevlüt Paşa would do the unthinkable:

'... Yes, it is true the lessons and traditions that İsmail Enver Paşa entrusted in us remains strong. However that does not mean we can simply ignore the will of the Ottoman public.

Poll after poll, one by one have all shown that the people wish to see our administration carry into 2027.

It is with that great honor that I can announce that I will be seeking a fourth term to continue to be the servant of our people.

When we began this journey long ago in 2008, the doubts were many. Yet we continued to persevere, we continued to press forward and faced head the world head on in victory after victory.

Our people, our great nation deserves to continue to claim these victories, to advance the prosperity of not only our own, but of the oppressed and subjugated of the world.

I promise you this is only the beginning, greatness once again awaits our sublime realm and its people...'

Ronaldo following his third goal against Halepspor / Exxen Sports

SPORTS – History was made when Galatasaray announced they had signed arguably the greatest football player of this or any other generation for a three year deal.

With CR7 having sought to leave Manchester United to play Champions League football, as the Red Devils had failed to qualify from the Champions League.

Ronaldo being greeted in İstanbul upon his landing at Fatih Sultan Mehmet International Airport by over 300,000 Galatasaray supporters outside the airport, according to local officials. With Galatasaray itself arguing that nearly half a million were present, following Ronaldo's path from the airport to Ali Sami Yen to sign his contract.

Only half a hour prior to the announcement of Galatasaray's starting 11 against Halepspor at Ali Sami Yen, Galatasaray Manager Roberto Mancini confirmed that Ronaldo would play in the starting line up.

The game kicked off with Galatasaray on the attack, with an early goal by Kerem Aktürkoğlu in the 8th minute of the game.

It was at the 35th minute that Cristiano Ronaldo opened his new score sheet at Galatasaray via a header on a set piece.

His second goal came after Galatasaray were given a penalty, with Ronaldo capitalizing to extend the lead to 3-0 at the 69th minute.

At the 73th minute, Bafétimbi Gomis scored after coming off the bench to replace Kerem Aktürkoğlu at the 71st minute, shades of the opening game of the leauge.

It was in the 90th minute on overtime that a brilliant solo counter attack by Cristiano Ronaldo saw him score to make the final result 5-0, scoring his first hattrick for Galatasaray in his debut.

Following the game Cristiano Ronaldo said that: 'With this team, I believe we will make it out of the group stages, and be a serious contender for Champions League gold. In 2020, this club did the unthinkable and won the Champions League, I hope to ensure we do this again during my tenure here at Galatasaray.'

Cooperation and Assistance Deal Signed with Palestine; Persian Delegation to be Hosted in Medinah

Bismillah ar-Rahman, ir-Raheem, as-salaamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh.

It is with great joy that our country has signed a cooperation and assistance deal with Falastinyya, which consists of:
-$500m in aid a year to assist the people of that country
-$2bn to be invested in the healthcare, construction, and industrial sectors of that country
-the establishment of the Palestinian-Arabiyan Fund to support the development and creation of small and medium enterprises (SMEs)
-a Free Trade Agreement between our country and Falastinyya and
-an Al-Baik franchising deal

The development of a free, prosperous, truly sovereign and stable Palestinian state has been one of the key platforms of the country since it was established in 1973. In fact, our dear founder and first leader Jibril al-Mushmisi (may he be in Jannah) was one of the most vocal figures in the Arab world about defending the rights and integrity of the Palestinian people, from the time of the Nakba in 1948 until his death in 1975. In shaa Allah, the time is now for legitimate Palestinian sovereignty and a functional two-state solution, so that Jews, Muslims, Christians, Druze, Israelis and Palestinians can co-exist with one another in the Holy Land (al-ard al-muqqadasa), and particularly in the holy city of Jerusalem (Al-Quds) which is sacred to the three Abrahamic faiths. Furthermore, we completely support Israeli sovereignty as well within the framework of the two-state solution.

Also, in the coming days, President Abdullah al-Karim, myself, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, and esteemed Arabiyan Shia scholar and member of the Fiqh Council of Nazahah Arabiya, Ali ibn Nasr al-Hashimi will meet with Persian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and a foreign delegation in Medinah to discuss establishing positive relations between our countries. In shaa Allah, these talks will be conducive to Middle Eastern and pan-Islamic cooperation and a major blow against sectarianism and infighting between Sunni and Shia groups. May Allah SWT guide us along the Upright Path and heal the rifts between all Muslims so that the Ummah may be able to unite, Ameen.

Signed,

Central africa-

Abuja, Nigeria

Yemi Osinbajo had for the past few decades, had a storied career. A graduate of Law from the university of Lagos, and a graduate of the London School of Economics, few would dare say that he wasn't a hardworker. Osinbajo rosethrough the ranks slowly and with precision, first becoming attorney general of Lagos, then Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice of Nigeria, before slowly moving his way up till he was appointed as Vice-President in 2015. Of course how he rose to the top rank has been quite controversial, so much in fact that it plunged the nation into civil war. But amidst all of this, Osinbajo never lost faith. In fact, he was a preacher in the Redeemed Christian Church of God in Nigeria. Even in war, Osinbajo faith never waivered, and he still regularly goes to church. Protected by four armoured Spartan MK.III, each holding within them 6 elite National Guard, he is always escorted to church safely....

Inside one of the armoured vehicles

Unbeknownst to any of the other vehicles, or Mr. Osinbajo himself, one of the armoured vehicles carried with it 6 Congolese members of the Armée Nationale Populaire, the military arm of the ruling party and the elite forces of Congo. Trained on espionage, guerrilla warfare, and most importantly, ideologically indoctrinated from the start, the ANP was quite possibly the only fully stable, non-corrupt, and competent institution in a country marked by incompetence and corruption on every level.

The burly soldier riding shotgun, Emmanuel, begins to speak, his target the team captain driving the vehicle:

Maj. Emmaneul | Yo, Pierre, you sure we won't get caught?

Pierre, Colonel Pierre Banza to give him his full title, begins to reply, his voice now weary with age and having experienced much combat in his storied career:

Col. Pierre | We are wearing masks at all times, they won't require us to speak, and the guys who we are taking their place won't talk for a good while

The armoured vehicles continue to make their way through the busy streets of Abuja, passing through the traffic and on their way towards the nearest Church. Yemi Osinbajo and his wife tended to go to that Church every other day since the war began, at 10 A.M exact. It was the only opportunity for a would-be assassin to preform the deed.

The cars arrive to their destination and everyone begins to take their positions. Some standing guard at the gate of the Church, others securing the perimeter outside. All the while Mr. Osinbajo and his wife enter the church. Col. Pierre and his team also take their positions and assist the other National Guard in their assignments...

...An hour later, Maj. Emmaneul begins heading towards Mr. Osinbajo's car, making sure that none of the other National Guard can see him. Quickly, he procures a small pipe bomb from his vest. He approaches the hood of the car and begins to open it, when suddenly Emmaneul's earpiece comes to life-

Col. Pierre | be careful, somebody is approaching your location

Maj. Emmaneul |Can't abandon it now dammit!

The sounds of the footsteps edge closer to Emmaneul's location, the mission and it's objective are at risk, one which the tide of the Civil War and Congo's operation in Nigeria hinges on...

National Guard Soldier #1 | Hey! What are you do-

BANG! The sound of a singular gunshot fills the background, drawing the attention of the National Guard soldier, which he promptly attends to, allowing Emmaneul to quickly plant the pipebomb under the car's hood, and making a quick escape.

A few moments later..

Osinbajo and his wife make their way to their car, the National Guard also makes their way to their respective vehicle, with the mysterious absence of a 4th National Guard unit.

National Guard Soldier #2 | Has anyone seen where the 4th unit we-

KA-BOOM! Osinbajo's car spectacularly goes up in flames as the explosion rocks the area, leaving only smoke and ashes..

...Mission accomplished

'Yemen is an important player in the Middle East' President Dahlan

August 14, 2022

A Palestinian-Yemeni rally ahead of the visit (Credit: AP)

By Jamila Abdelkader

In his final visit before the world superpowers of Russia and the United States, President Dahlan stopped to visit San'aa where he met with the newly elected leadership of Khaled al-Asad and the Yemeni Ba'ath Party. The visit was greeted by popular support from the Yemeni people.

Dahlan and al-Asad touched a number of issues and discussed various areas of cooperation in their meeting, touching on subjects of international affairs, economy, and military matters.

One of the most important annoucements came in the form of a joint project by the Ministry of Public Works and Housing, and the Palestinian privately owned Massar International Ltd. The project will be the building of the Rouzan al-Najjar medical city. Rouzan being a Gazan first medic who was killed on duty. 'We want to honor the first doctors and nurses that save our lives and work tirelessly for a healthy Palestine despite the danger that poses'.

The Medica City will be built near Sana'a and contain about 200 beds to help treat patients. The plan is to build a number of hospitals with a major operations rooms, heart operations rooms, intensive care units, hospitalization and maternity sections, a medical evacuation helipad, nursery rooms, and a fully equipped radiology department, in addition to various specialized clinics such as internal medicine, dentistry, gynecology and pediatrics. About US$ 80m will be poured into making the medical city a reality.

President Dahlan in Sana'a

Another deal saw a successful negotiations between Sinokrot Holding and the Yemeni state for the creation of a food production factory in Yemen. The Yemeni government will own a 25% stake in the factory, that is planned to produce chocolates, various types of sweets, and other foodstuff for the Yemeni population at affordable and cheap prices.

Finally, Palestine has signed a deal to export high-quality strawberries from Gaza into Yemen, which are predicted to offer a similar quality to the highest grade strawberries, while also being much more affordable.

ANGAT BUHAY PARTNERSHIPS FOR POVERTY
Official Report on TONDO DEVELOPMENT, as proposed by the following:

Francisco Domagoso, former Manila mayor
Honey Lacuna, Mayor of Manila
Francis Pangilinan, the Vice President
Ernesto Dionsio Jr., Manila 1st District Rep.

Overview

The proposed Tondo Development Initiative, best abbreviated to T.D.I., is a planned multibillion dollar project that will radically re-develop the Tondo district of the City of Manila, easily the oldest part of Metro Manila and the most densely packed, with many slum areas and impoverished homes. The district sees frequent crime and other issues, such as a lack of adequate roads, public transportation and plumbing, and a lack of police presence. Tondo has been subject to several failed redevelopment programs by the Manila City government over the past 20 or so years, but none have succeeded due to a general lack of government interest.

This proposed redevelopment initiative seeks to invest up to $1.2 billion in Tondo district alone, for the construction of large amounts of public housing, new schools and high schools, as well as P.A.G.T.A.S. operation centers, to establish a strong welfare presence. The development of a strong police presence will also be cultivated in parallel.

Status of Education

According to the Department of Education (DepEd), there are currently 26 public elementary schools and 11 public high schools in Tondo district. This can be put in contrast with the district's population of 654,220 as of 2020.

The T.D.I. aims to invest between $100 million and $200 million in the raising of that number to 40 public elementary schools, 20 public high schools and two university-level institutions within 15 years from the institution of this project. National government funding shall be provided where necessary.

Eminent domain and land reclamation and compensation for squatters will be used to secure lands for which to construct these facilities.

Priority will, however, be given to current schools, which will be granted additional funding to allow them to expand their operations and provide high-quality and stable education for their pupils.

Status of Law Enforcement

Currently, there are 16 small-scale to medium-scale law enforcement centers (police stations, customs outposts, etc.) within Tondo district, according to official estimations. Each facility holds no more than 30 officers (estimate), and can be again put in contrast with the district population of 654,220.

A lack of priority from the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the local level Manila Police Department (MPD) has led to Tondo becoming a crime haven. Under the previous administration and the previous mayor crime did decline by over 85%, but crime remains a major problem for Tondo citizens.

Police presence in the region should be increased as much as 80% within two years, while crime rates should decline by 70% over the next four years.

To facilitate this, between 10-15 new police centers, housing between 15 to 20 officers each, will be built and opened in Tondo district, with strategic positioning to allow for optimal protection for schools and P.A.G.T.A.S. operations facilities.

Status of Welfare Operations and Distribution

Currently, there are now Social Security Service (S.S.S.) offices in Tondo district, and as such there is little to no welfare operations and distribution in Tondo district.

Angat Buhay subsidiary P.A.G.T.A.S., Pakikipagtulungan para sa Gutom, Tirahan and Seguirdad, or Partnerships for Hunger, Shelter and Security, will be opening up to six operational centers to provide free shelter, free food, and free educational training for impoverished Filipinos who otherwise wouldn't have access to these government-provided benefits. These P.A.G.T.A.S. facilities will be heavily protected as it will likely be a central home for many poor Filipino families without access to the proper necessities.

Status of Public Housing

Currently, there are now active public housing projects, present or planned, in Tondo district.

Angat Buhay will seek to change this with the construction of 6-7 highrise public housing facilities, which will provide medium-term shelter for Filipinos while they participate in job hunting programs. This will play a significant role in the de-povertization of Tondo district, which will work to reduce poverty rates by providing a pathway for all Filipinos to a stable job and a permanent residence.

These highrise public housing facilities will also utilize eminent domain to open construction.

Status of Land Reclamation and Compensation

Currently, there are now land reclamation and compensation operations ongoing in Tondo district.

However, to facilitate for the above projects, land reclamation and compensation will take place to relocate Filipinos and acquire their homes to allow for the construction of new projects. These Filipinos will duly be compensated with financial support, increased S.S.S. payments, and/or a slot in an Angat Buhay residence zone in another part of Metro Manila.

This will be used alongside eminent domain.

Projected Total Costs

Education - $250 million (rough est.)
Law Enforcement - $215 million (rough est.)
Welfare and PAGTAS - $300 million (rough est.)
Public Housing - $650 million (rough est., including land reclamation and compensation)

Total: $1.4 billion ($200 million over budget)

President Abdullah al-Karim, FM Hussein al-Qurayshi, Leading Arabiyan Shia Scholar Ali ibn Nasr al-Hashimi and Junior Officials Meet With Perisan President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and Persian Delegation in Medinah

Bismillah, ar-Rahman, ir-Raheem, as-salaamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh.

In what is the first of hopefully many more foreign visits (in shaa Allah), President al-Karim, FM al-Qurayshi, and the de facto 'representative' of Shia Muslims in the country, Ali ibn Nasr al-Hashimi and some of their aides met with Persian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and a Persian delegation in Medinah to discuss formal government relations, sign some momentous Arabiyan-Persian cooperation deals, and begin to work towards healing sectarian rifts between Shia and Sunni Muslims in the region (in shaa Allah).

After much discussion, our countries have come to these agreements:

-Building of a high-speed causeway over the next 5 years with both car lanes and a high-speed rail line from our city of Dammam to the Persian city of Siraf, which we in Nazahah Arabiya will primarily finance and which both Persian and Arabiyan enterprises and firms will build

-Establishment of a Free Trade Zone in the Dammam metro area with reduced taxes and simplified forms for investment, giving priority to Persian firms (but will be open to any and all firms internationally who wish to invest), primarily focused on industrial production, textiles production, oil and gas refining, and shipbuilding

-Student exchange programs between our top 3 universities

-And the establishment of the voluntary Pan-Islamic Charity (Sadaqah) Fund to hopefully (in shaa Allah) provide alms throughout the entire Ummah; it is open to any and all majority Islamic countries who wish to join, and will come under the jurisdiction of the UIC; it will be governed by a council and will be based on yearly donations countries will voluntarily make.

Both our country and Persia have donated $100 million so far, and the members of the Fund are us, Persia, Iraq and Indonesia at the moment

We hope that these things can heal any rifts between our peoples, help to stabilize the Middle East and begin a process of sustainable and balanced development amongst its countries, and move the Ummah in a positive direction of principled unity and engagement on the world stage. May Allah bless us all in these difficult times and put compassion, humility, and a love of justice and peace in our hearts, Ameen.

Nikita Muradov, President of the Federal Republic of Dağcistan, has recently held a press conference to address the charges made by his rival Igor Nazarov, leader of the Dağcistan Socialist Party.

"A leader of a determined party recently affirmed that we won the elections thanks to vote rigging and, because we won, it means we live in an autocratic regime. If this was a dictatorship, he wouldn't run for an election and his party wouldn't exist. And most importantly, if this was a dictatorship he probably would have been killed or executed for the unannounced protest, which didn't happen.

I held this conference to remind the gravity of a situation to our citizens and to the reponsibles, that surely will have to expose their reasons to the National Congress in the coming days.

Changes to children's education set for 2022-2023 schoolyear

The Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia recently amended General Education Laws for the '22-'23 school year.

Starting in September, schools for all age groups must have a doctor on their grounds during school hours.

5 year old children who turn 6 years old by October 1st are now eligble for enrolment into the First Grade.

The biggest change is the implementation of "Doctor's Hour", an hour of education focused on topics such as personal hygiene, nutrition, physical activity, identifying emotions, and personal safety issues.

In 2023, all elementary and secondary schools must have a Doctor's Hour for all grades.

World's first suspended Maglev comes into operation

The world's first suspended, powerless Maglev train has officially been launched in Xingguo County as part of an experiment which could influence the future of rail travel in the country.

The Maglev train operates under the 'Red Rail' program, co-developed by the Jiangxi University of Science and Technology, China Railway Liuyuan Group, and the China Railway Hi-Tech Industry Company. It is a 800-meter long experimental track which is capable of carrying 88 passengers while simultaneously being suspended 10 meters off the ground. The current testbed is capable of reaching speeds of 80 kilometers per hour, which marks the gradual maturing of the country's advances in Maglev technology; in July 2021, a new ultra-high-speed Maglev train - the CRRC 600 - with speeds of 600 kilometers per hour* rolled off the assembly line with expectations that it would enter service in 2025.

The Red Rail testbed is ideal for urban use, as its suspended nature minimises occupancy of street-level space, its magnetic fields can act as shock-absorbers, there are lower operational costs, and magnetic propulsion tends to be quieter compared to other railway designs. Furthermore, there are plans to integrate artificial intelligence to the train's navigational and control suite, which would allow it to reach higher speeds of around 120 kilometers per hour.

The country plans to make use of the Red Rail and CRRC 600 technologies to revolutionise inter- and intra-city transport by the end of this decade. For instance, the Haizhu Island Circular New Tram will be replaced by a Red Rail vehicle in 2 years' time, which would cut travel times by at least 15%. Technical expertise will also be applied to improve the Qingyuan Maglev, which is currently under construction and due to open by the end of the year.

AS THE FIRST HYBRID FACE-TO-FACE SCHOOL YEAR PREPARES TO START, PROBLEMS WITHIN THE PH EDUCATION SYSTEM PERSIST

MANILA, 8/19 -- On Monday, 22 August, the first hybrid face-to-face school year will begin (SY 2022-2023) for most educational institutions within the Philippine K-12 educational system. It will mark the first face-to-face classes in the country since the national COVID-19 quarantine was declared in March of 2020. President Leni Robredo described the need to return to 'normalcy in our schools' in her July 25 SONA, declaring that face-to-face classes was 'already long overdue'. Educators and schools alike have been consistently calling on the Philippine Department of Education (DepEd) to push for a total face-to-face return in SY 2022-2023 since spring of this year, when COVID cases reached an all time low despite turnout during the May 9 National and Local Elections.

DepEd began preparations for a return to schools en masse in June of this year, beginning the repainting and preparation of schools across the country with support from volunteers and teachers as well as parents. Teachers voiced concern after reports indicated that 95,000 classrooms would still go unprepared and unready at the start of face-to-face classes, but DepEd assured the public that all would be good.

The return to face-to-face classes has brought to the public spotlight wider problems within the Philippine education system that has persisted over the years and has especially become prevalent during the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to a new study, 9 out of 10 10 year old Filipinos cannot read simple text. This indicates both a lack of support from DepEd for schools trying to conduct online classes during the pandemic, and a general lack of focus on Philippine education.

Over the past few years, the country's education system has come under fire for being unprepared to deal with the tens of millions of students in the K-12 system. From unqualified teachers teaching subjects they weren't trained to teach, to mental stress and educational fatigue for students, the problems are all over the board and reach parents, educators and students alike and all at the same time.

Attempts by Congress to delay the start of face-to-face classes to January 2023 were curbed by the Robredo administration in an effort led by Education Secretary Paolo Aquino to pass legislation mandating a required return to total (non-hybrid) face-to-face by November. Some educators' groups and opposition politicians argued that schools weren't ready, while the government and Sec. Aquino argued that a face-to-face return was necessary for all students to 'revive their socialization skills and guarantee that they are all able to study efficiently', presenting before Congressional committees studies that showed students preferred face-to-face overwhelmingly and that during the pandemic, the learning efficacy of schools decreased by over 45%.

Additional problems include a lack of trained teachers, and unqualified teachers teaching subjects they weren't trained to teach. This comes in addition to a uniform shortage as well as concerns regarding late dismissal of students, which some have correlated to a rise in kidnappings in the past five years, despite former president Rodrigo Duterte's anti-crime spree during his tenure as president.
