All seemed normal today. Business as usual. All of a sudden, a small group of foreign ships landed on the asteroid. CCE Security Forces surrounded the ship and aimed their gauss rifles at the invaders. The head officer made his way to what seemed to be the main vessel of the potentially hostile group.
“This is Officer Stelios Kontos, Head of the CCE Security Forces on this mining operation. This is sovereign Cymiopolitan land and we’ve mining this rock since 2140. Vacate the premises or we will open fire!”, he shouted

My fellow Ventuans. It’s brings me joy to say that this conflict, which has plagued us for the last night year, is finally over. We have signed a treaty with the Kunkengans and those ultimately who were responsible are finally being dealt with.
While this is a happy day, we cannot forget those we’ve lost. Many brave men and women gave their lives to protect us all and they will never be forgotten. We also lost a leader who always put the people first before himself. I know more than anyone that he is happy for this day.
As such, security will wind down over time. The fleets in the Kapteyn System will return to their original posts and the Alliance will handle things on their end.
And to those who are serving now, we again thank you for your service. As a pilot, my duty was to always protect and we ended up liberating an entire system from slavery, people that I can gladly call friends and fellow citizens. Your contributions shall never be forgotten.

Forest has some significant news! 
Ruinenlust (our long-time foreign minister) has replaced 
Ransium as our WA delegate. This was planned and voluntary, Ransium decided to step down due to the upcoming birth of a child and Ruinenlust was the logical successor as he is one of the older Foresters and was number two in endorsements. He has my full confidence as a successor and I wish him well!

Today is a momentous day in the history of Forest.
On June 9th 2007, Ransium was elected our WA Delegate. In the 13 years, 75 days that have passed since then, Forest has grown from a tiny corner of NationStates to a large and influential member of the game’s community, commended by the Security Council, and home to hundreds of nations. In that time his service has overlapped with the real-world terms of three US Presidents, five UK Prime Ministers, and seven Australian Prime Ministers (among many others). Technology and the environment have changed dramatically. The first iPhone, for example, wasn’t released to the public until about three weeks after Ransium took up the delegacy – now we’re in the middle of E-Waste Awareness Month largely due to the environmental impact of these devices! Consumer LED light bulbs for your home fixtures, a staple of many of our homes given our eco-minded nature, had not even had a standard written yet. Heck, two entire very real countries have come in to being during Ransium’s time in office – in these nations, their entire government has existed for less time than he has been performing his duties for us as our delegate.
After this remarkable amount of time – time which in addition to serving as our Delegate has seen Ransium write 25 game issues, 5 WA resolutions, 5 SC resolutions, become an Issues Editor, become a Game Moderator, and be personally commended – it is my honor and duty to report that Ransium has chosen to step down from the position of WA Delegate for Forest.
I don’t think there are enough words for me, or any of us, to properly credit Ransium for his efforts on our behalf, so I will simply say this: Thank you. Deeply, and from the bottom of our hearts, thank you for what you have done for us. We look forward to your continued presence in the region, and wish you a peaceful retirement!
What Happens Next?
Per Article 3.4 of our Constitution, the power to appoint the Delegate belongs to the Forest Keeper. This is absolutely not an authority I ever hoped or expected to use, as Ransium is as much a part of Forest as anyone could be, but at his request and with Errinundera’s approval, I initiated the process of identifying a replacement. We have been quietly working on things in the background for some time, and I can now announce that Ruinenlust will be taking over the role of WA Delegate for Forest
Ruinenlust is one of the longest-resident nations in all of Forest, and for the last three years has been in charge of our foreign affairs office. He is a familiar face to both Foresters and our allies, and has repeatedly demonstrated a true commitment to our region. He is a talented and thoughtful writer of NS content, and has provided endless good advice and wise counsel during our time working together. His selection was approved by both Ransium and Errinundera, and I hope you will join me in fully supporting him as he transitions to the delegacy.
Actions to take
1) Any WA nation that has not yet endorsed Ruinenlust, please do so now!
2) You will see the accounts of the officers removing their endorsements from Ransium, in order to reduce his endo-count to a number lower than that of Ruinenlust. We will also be reaching out to some of you personally to request your assistance with this. Ransium is remaining in the WA, and we by no means are trying to remove all his endorsements – just enough to ensure there’s no danger of inadvertent juggling of the post. If you wish to remove yours as well temporarily to aid in this, that is fine, but the long-term goal is just a small reduction, not mass dropping.
3) We will be preparing a formal “public announcement” for our allies and other interested nations in the coming days, once the transfer is secure. It is likely that it will be noticed anyway, which is completely fine, but we’ll make a point of declaring it once things are looking stable.
Ruinenlust has agreed to continue handling the position of Foreign Affairs Branch for the remaining month of our present term in office, but has indicated a desire to step back from that to focus completely on delegate duties thereafter. Middle Barael is continuing as usual in the ambassador management role, and I will be on hand to assist with any diplomatic duties if needed for the remaining duration of my term.

The New United Carolinas has declared an early state of emergency, as Hurricane Victor begins to rip through the Republic of 
Achipel.
All cities within 60 miles of the Coast have been asked to evacuate their citizens, including the Cities of Wilmington, Jacksonville, Moon Arbor, Palmetto City, Myrtle Beach, Aerbourne, Savannah, the Entirety of the Outerbanks, and more. The National Carolinian Railway has offered free transport into inland cities.
Various Airlines and Spacelines, including Carolinian Airlines, Magnolia Airways, United Airlines, Pan-American Airlines, Southwest Airlines, Air Karteria, Delta Airlines, Carolinian Spacelines, Crusader Spacelines, and more, have offered their support in the evacuation as well, providing routes to inland cities and Red Dust.
The cost of Damages is expected to be in the trillions, and inland cities are expected to be flooded as well. Meteorologist and Storm Chasers expect Myrtle Beach, Wilmington, and Morehead City to be the hardest hit.
The Department of Internal Affairs, as well as the Department of Foreign Affairs, tells the world that while Hurricanes are simply a part of life in the New United Carolinas, that all aid and donations are greatly appreciated. 30 Hours before hurricane touchdown
The Palmetto House was in a panic, and Ariana was in the very center of it. Ariana's parents were being transported from Jacksonville to New Raleigh to stay with her in the Presidential House. She worried deeply for them, but now she had to focus on the greater good of the Country.
Ever since Hurricane Amelia completely ravaged Palmetto City, the country has taken hurricane protection measures seriously. At the beginning of each year, the Palmetto Mansion devises a plan for hurricanes. When one actually hit, during the evacuation process, the Palmetto Mansion revises the plan to ensure it fits the needs of the current situation. So far it was good, and the session was about to end.
Though Ariana knew anything was possible. And if she made one wrong move, it could potentially cost the lives of hundreds if not thousands, as well as cost her political career.

An announcement from the Ministry for Trade
The Dalwhinnie Fleet has collapsed after a lengthy series of worker's rights scandals, mechanical failures and at least one reactor explosion throughout the past month. This means that the other 7,500 tons of fish to trade with Frellor shall need to be renegotiated, however, the food trade shall continue as normal. The collapsed fleet's assets were bought up by Even Less Fishing, and it is believed the owner has purchased a small yacht in the south of the country.
An announcement from the Ministry for Their Almighty Holiness
As January 2050 shall be their Holiness's 50th Birthday. As such, they shall be planning a large celebration, involving a full military parade and a full week of various celebrations.
An Expanding Republic?
Under orders from the Supreme Chancellor, the Republic will be expanding its military forces from twenty fleets to twenty-five. Currently, VSI is looking into new models of ships and as such older ones will cease production, such as the Z-95.
Also, the Chancellor wishes to expand our borders, currently eyeing a system known as the Atlas System. Through all this, we will become stronger and none will dare oppose us.
Erwin sat on his couch in the Main room of the ShangXiang Imperial Palace, his wife Momo laying down on it, her head nestled on Erwin's lap. Erwin gently stroked Momo's silky black hair, enjoying as always the company of his beloved wife. Hiei sat in the chair next to them, writing. Presumably the paperwork and council reports she tasked herself with. Setsuka, the beautiful and ravishing girl who guarded Erwin, stood nearby. Though her duties for the night had been completed, she still wished to guard her adopting father. Kommandant Nishizumi Maho sat at a desk in the room, reviewing the inventory and stock of the armed forces, in which she controlled all 4 branches (Army Marines Navy and Air Force). Other members of the Royal Family were also present.
Thanks to Erwin repealing the policy of his father, which prohibited free press, Erwin, as well as the citizens of the Empire, had been enjoying the vast amounts of new media coverage. Most famous in the nation was the International News Station, hosted mainly by Brie Zimmermann. Erwin enjoyed listening to the news that he was responsible for allowing. He enjoyed the praise that they gave him, and also the criticism that they also spoke. Though those opposed to Erwin were very few in number, their arguments and criticism; the valid ones that is, were very much worth the same as those who agreed with him. The news came over the television. Momo, who was comfortable where she was, didnt bother to look up, but merely smile and enjoy the comfort of her husbands loving touch. Erwin felt happy with the news reports. It was nice to know that the people felt both safe and happy. Brie continued

"Finally, an intense Hurricane approaches the coast of the New united carolinas. While it's citizens brace for the storm's inevitable landfall, the world has remained eerily silent in it's response. The people of Scherzinger expressed their thoughts and support for the Carolinian people, and some even calling on the Emperor to offer his support to them. One citizen stated that 'While the ideologies of the Carolinian people and ourselves vary drastically, and there has been no interaction between the two, it doesn't mean we must be callous to the struggles of their people.' It is known that Emperor Zenzefer III has put politics aside in the past to form a peaceful relationship with other countries, we ask that, for the interests of preserving life, he do it once more. We here as SIN would like to thank the Emperor for giving our people the opportunity to express ourselves once more, and hope that this is the beginning of the Empire's resurgence. The program then concluded. Erwin began thinking. Hiei looked up at Erwin.
"Hiei, what is the average death toll of a hurricane of this magnitude?" Erwin asked
"Statistics show the most lethal hurricane of this size killed over 1500 people. Though these statistics are from the information that has been given freely. I believe that a hurricane of this size, is actually larger than the one i have mentioned, and believe that the death toll could be 2-5 times higher."
Erwin gently gripped Momo's hair. The thought of thousands perishing was a sobering thought, and made him think of what would happen if something like that took his wife. The feeling he felt was likely the same feeling that others might experience. Momo moaned a sigh of relief and love. She was completely oblivious to the conversation at hand, focused more on being with her husband, and how happy she was.
"Hiei, please take a message for me, direct it to President Ariana, and please note the proper spelling of her name." Erwin said. A few minutes later, the message was then sent off to the President of the NUC. Afterwards, the evening resumed as normal, and Erwin went back to loving his wife.
