Happy almost Halloween!

Willtechia, I've publicly endorsed the latest Security Council declaration on behalf of the region. I know you're our chief delegate and, as such, the decision to even bother with public endorsements of World Assembly resolutions would traditionally be yours, but as our region's Minister of Public Relations, there's a case to be made that such public statements are technically my responsibility. Regardless, as your subordinate officer, I thought I'd run it by you. If you'd prefer, I can make an amendment or retract the statement entirely, and I can run any future public statements by you before they're released. Apologies if I'm stepping on your toes here, but as the saying goes, it's often better to ask forgiveness than permission. :P

You mean you voted on the Declaration on China?

No--well, okay, yes, I did that too, but I also left commentary about it on the forum that included an endorsement of the bill on behalf of the region. Again, if that's an overstep, I understand completely. Just felt like gettin' a bit more involved yesterday, is all.

Your job title is literally "Minister of Public Relations." You were doing your job, so I'm fine with it.

0w0 it's activity in the region!

In that case, I'll take charge of writing up public statements on all(well, most, time and spoons allowing) WA proposals from here forward. If anyone here who's in the WA wants to DM me with their thoughts on the latest proposals up for vote, I'd appreciate the input!

Bear in mind, any public statements I make will be incumbent on what the majority vote from representatives in our region is at that time, so anytime my vote's in the minority, I'm gonna need everyone else's input in order to make sure the statements I release are fair and representative of our region's opinions on the matter at hand.

Official Statement on "Paid Leave Act II"

Given the current lack of any comprehensive WA protections for paid leave, it strikes us as imperative that any bill offering reasonably concrete protection without any major risks or loopholes be passed with all due haste. We are increasingly frustrated by this body's insistence on repealing flawed policies before an improved version can take its place, to say nothing of the singularly-damaging tendency for our member nations to reject any proposal that has any level of coverage in preexisting legislation.

Mechanical systems require redundancy to be reliable; when a component in a redundant system fails, there are other components that can continue to perform the same function until the failed component can be fixed or replaced. Relying on one specific component to do one specific job is risky, to say the least, and inevitably doomed to fail. Why, then, do we insist on removing any "malfunctioning" component in our own system without having an adequate replacement readily available? All it does is ensure that, for the duration between removing the old component and painstakingly crafting and installing a new one to replace it, our system is doing NOTHING.

When a machine isn't working, it slows down work everywhere around it. In an industrial setting, that means reduced output. In governance, it means that an increased number of people who need the protection or assistance provided by the removed legislation aren't getting the help they need. As a result, people struggle, people suffer, and people die. Any political system that actively allows its constituents to suffer is definitionally failing in its role as a government; that axiom applies to the World Assembly every bit as much as it does to individual nations.

So, what does all this have to do with this bill, which Europeia has already denounced as "vague" and riddled with "loopholes"? Simply put, right now it's the only component we have to replace a component we cast aside. At worst, we should consider it a temporary fix until a new bill can be passed to patch this one's shortcomings. The fact remains that, right now, there is zero existing legislation covering paid leave. Anything is an improvement over nothing at all. To claim that this bill isn't worth voting for due to its flaws overlooks the fact that our current alternative is no bill at all. Our current alternative is complete and total failure.

The Region of Pawnsilvania recommends voting FOR this proposal.

Maps??? This is going to be fun!

Just noticed Crenta's gone. Rust, I'm mergering their job (Diplomacy Ministier) into yours (PR Minister) into a new Foreign Minister role. Also, can anyone get Dolorina to appoint me Successor?

Understood. I'll do the best I can!

You underestimate my laziness

Hello Pawnsilvania, I bring greetings from the Council of Anegana, and word from the High King of Coridge.

The Kingdom of Coridge is curious to know how many of you could be called on in the event of a war,
Anegana wishes to know how far our region's co-operation may go,
And the Council wishes to extend a defensive alliance against any invader.

We patiently await your responses

I can only speak for my own nation, given Pawnsilvania's general lack of official binding documents on the subject of...well, anything, really. Rust is largely a pacifist state; we could be convinced to go to war on behalf of other nations/regions for purposes of regional defense, but we currently lack the resources to do so in a timely manner without jeopardizing our position within our home region.

All that being said, if our fellow Pawnsilvanians have any interest in building a regional defense force for the protection of ourselves and our allies, Rust would happily take charge in helping to build it, with Willtechia's permission.

Lovely, as my Knights have suggested, the Coridgean Military is at your side, simply ask and we shall deliver.

May the stars watch over you, and may the tides grant endless treasure.

Understood! As you can see, I've set up a dedicated satellite state specifically for interregional peacekeeping operations. Henceforth, any updates coming from the Rust International Defense Force will be specifically related to briefing and debriefing on regional defense activities. I encourage everyone here who's interested in fighting the good fight against any and all raider threats to build their own satellites; I look forward to distinguishing our little region on the battlefield as a harbinger of liberation for regions plagued by raiders and coups. Dismissed!

OPERATION YASS QUEEN

Sigma, Commander-in-Chief of Rust International Defense Force

The region of Yessssss is a relatively new region. They're small, not unlike ourselves. Their rightful leader and founder is unversed in the nuances of regional security. They're also currently suffering under a long-standing raid by major raiding organizations like the Black Hawks, Lone Wolves United, and the Brotherhood of Malice. Those are big names--a region like Yessssss stands no chance of regaining autonomy under its own power.

Fortunately, due to a recently-passed Security Council proposal to liberate them, entry into Yessssss is currently unrestricted. Now is our chance to show the world what Pawnsilvania can do for regional defense. The Rogue Nation of Rust's International Defense Force officially calls for all able nations within Pawnsilvania's sphere of influence to send forces (i.e. satellite nations) into Yessssss and endorse Kakastania as the region's rightful WA Delegate. They are a native nation that was present when the region was first founded; in their hands, Yessssss will be safe. Any updates or changes to stratagem will be shared on this message board.

Your orders are clear (hopefully). We march on Yessssss at will. Dismissed!
