Motivation for the individual state maps is rising again.

This time I'll actually do the damn map correctly :P

And yes, I will try to eventually put all the maps together on a single map, just for the funzies.

Otakuru wrote:Hey, so uh, it's been a while since I've had to deal with bbcode, and I'm starting to go insane trying to figure this out. I'm making one of those wiki style overview factbooks using someone else's template, and the sidebar uses a table. In some of the cells, text for things like "population" and "language" cut off to a new line part-way through the word. How do I fix that??

Usually you have to make a new line.

If that doesn't work, you'll have to show us exactly what code you're using so we can diagnose the issue.

Suspicious indeed.
It's as if they thought there was some kind of threat to the mainland or something.

You mean the same mainland that half of the Assembly seems to hate with a burning passion? Hm, yes. Why would they ever consider giving up their nukes for what amounts to a colony from their perspective-

Shhhhhh.
Don't worry.

Perhaps I will also add where military installations are? It'd be a good idea... I think...

Most will be marked as "Belongs to state" and some will be marked as "Belongs to ZU" while few will be marked as known "Warhead Silos"

So...
Very unpleasant.

Fingers flew across the keyboard as the man furiously typed away, pausing only to glance around. One could mistake Alysdair’s paranoia for a sort of manic insanity, but he knew better. Already he’d avoided a pair of convenient incidents on the streets of Skyshore; each one an inconvenience meant to stall him, such as a sudden traffic accident or a train delay from the station. Both incidents he knew were not on accident. He’d already gotten a good look at a pair of men in casual clothing but hairstyles of active duty soldiers posted at the train station watching, observing, looking.

Similar tactics he had used tracking down his own prey, and given the situation he was in, there was a strong possibility he was now the hunted. There was no time left to plan a full escape at this point; the information he had was too dangerous to be lost, and if he was being hunted the information was at risk. That’s why he had stopped in at a small Internet cafe, wanting to get it transferred back to his superiors in the capital.

It was a bigger issue to log into a secure system from a publicly accessible network, but so long as he jumped the correct hoops, he should be able to navigate his way down. He pulled out his wireless data adapter and connected it to the laptop he had rented, and the upload attachment began.

“Late night, Mister Ankareon?” A baritone voice sang out.

His gaze drove upwards, and his blood froze. The tall man stared down at him, a sly grin under his bearded face, a pair of half-spectacles on his nose. His tussle of brown hair had more grey in it than the last image Alysdair had in his use, but it was no doubt the same Dorin Gelion there before him, moving to sit across from him at the table.

“I must admit, I’m a bit disappointed you made it out of Jovaport, but at last we can meet again, face to face. Don’t you agree, Colonel Vyktarian?”

Alysdair furrowed his brow, moving to sit up a bit. “I suppose the tables have turned since Vyrianwood, Doctor. Come to catch up or is there something you’re up to?”

“Oh, a little of this, a little of that.” The man gave a maniacal grin, the dead glint in his eye belying his intent. “Trying to expand my horizons, you know?”

“And the incident with the Torheds made a perfect cover for you, hm?”

“Cover?” Gelion nearly cackled, tilting his head up to look down towards the red head. “My dear boy, the Torheds are just a pawn on my board.” He snapped his fingers and the sound of heavy boots were heard coming up. A Skyshore paramilitary officer was soon standing there, looking down at the redhead. “Just as the Sterions are.”

“Sterion and Torhed… can we thank them for shielding your family for so long?” Alysdair growled under his voice, his eyes glancing down to the laptop a moment.

“Just as much as we can thank your ancestors for killing mine so long ago. Speaking of killing, Captain, bring in our two friends.”

The officer keyed a comlink and spoke into it. Shortly after a pair of soldiers burst into the cafe, dragging a pair of small figures with them - two Reiwan struggling and failing against their plastic bindings and the wraps on their muzzles.

Alysdair turned to look at them before returning his gaze to Gelion. “It was you… you’re responsible for the bombing at Jovaport.”

“Ah, now he sees the connections.” The Doctor smiles. “And soon, another pair of terrorists will spread their attacks against the Elyreian people to other tegunno. Starting right. Here.” He said, punctuating his words with taps of the finger onto the counter top. “With the targeted assassination of an Elyreian investigator looking into their terrorist activities.”

“You’re a madman if you think anyone will believe this.”

“Once the explosions in Nora’s Watch and Mantyris show its a wide ranging issue, the appropriate response will be placing the most prepared and knowledgeable of the houses in charge to replace the inefficient and ineffectual Vaelans family.”

“Torhed.”

“Correct! Now you’ve got it!”

“It won’t work, Dorin,” the man said, a bit smugly for once.

“Ah, think you’ll finish sending your little message?” The doctor said, motioning to the military officer.

Alysdair refused to pull his eyes off Dorin, glaring daggers at him, and smiling despite the sound of metal dragging against leather next to his head. “I clicked Send when I turned to look at the hostages.”

Subject: Equipment issue

All Branches,
In light of world events and heightened readiness status, all of your equipment distribution warehouses will begin receiving the new armor system, TRAuMA, earlier than the scheduled distribution. Sets will begin arriving this week, and distribution is to begin immediately among combat forces. Taking from all automated medical systems tested across various armor systems this past decade, TRAuMA combines them all into one. TRAuMA (Tactical Rescue Automated Medical Armor) is capable of treating a variety of traumatic and medical issues incurred during combat, and is able to take real-time vitals using harmless nanobot injections in the bloodstream similar to those already widely in use in our civilian medical system. The nanobots are also capable of releasing certain targeted medications when necessary, just like the civilian models. The bodysuit is capable of inflating and stiffening to splint each limb in the event of a fracture, and simultaneously provide pressure in the case of a major bleed. The combat packs included with the armor sets include a limited oxygen supply that is capable of feeding directly into the helmet, which has the ability of automatically sealing as a respirator mask if necessary. The oxygen supply is small, no more than a few minutes' worth at high flow, but will refill itself over time through use of an integrated oxygen concentrater. There are also defibrillator pads on the interior front and back of the bodysuit, in the event of resuscitation being necessary. This system is designed to draw as little power as possible, and uses only marginally more power than the base armor currently equipped to combat troops when the concentrater and defibrillator are not being used. That being said, it is possible to manually activate many of the features if the armor is out of power. The full specifications and instructions for the TRAuMA system will be included with the deliveries. That is all. Thank you.

I got a 79 WPM at about 96% accuracy, little less accurate but I'm pretty happy with that speed.
(Though if this were my actual writing speed I would have an RP post done every single day of the week. Unfortunately, this is not the case.)

Salutations, Sky blue butterflies!

Welcome to the Pacific, the oldest region on NationStates and home of the New Pacific Order for the past 20 years. NationStates can be overwhelming when you first begin (or if you're just coming back!), with a lot of potential ways to play the game and have fun. However, we are more than happy to help you with any queries you might have regarding NationStates and the Pacific. To get started, make sure to read the below list.

  • First things first, join the World Assembly! It's like the United Nations but in NationStates. If you're confused on how to join the World Assembly, this guide should be able to help you out.

  • Once you've joined the World Assembly, you can endorse any nation that is also in the World Assembly. It is extremely important for the security of the region that you make sure to endorse our World Assembly Delegate East Durthang.

  • Now that you've endorsed our World Assembly Delegate, you can join our forums and then apply for citizenship in the New Pacific Order. At most, the process will take a few days, and then after that - you're officially a citizen of the New Pacific Order.

  • The last thing that you need to do to get started is to join our Discord server. It allows you to communicate with all the members of the New Pacific Order, stretching across 3 main branches and other games as well. Since you're a citizen, you'll also get access to the special citizens-only channel too.

Once you've checked everything off the list, you're free to enjoy your time in NationStates as a part of the wider New Pacific Order community. If you want to help out with what we do around here, you can consider Getting Involved - but it is not necessary for having a great time here in the Pacific. If you're not new to NationStates but new to the Pacific, do make sure to still follow the instructions; it helps out a ton!

Regards,
The New Pacific Order

Ind'ana State: "What is wrong with us? Why do we hate eachother? Why is Z'verto like this?"

Dea'wa State: "I wouldn't say hate, more like... dislike severely."

Mota'na State: "It's the same damn thing, what are ya'? Stupid?"

Ind'ana State: "This is what I mean, you can't just be nice for a moment?"

Mota'na State: "Not to you I can't. Also, why is it you bringing this up? Rather than Central or Tropical Z'verto? Those centrists really know how to 'play it safe'"

I'do State: "It's because we'd rather just not get caught up in arguments rather than try to be centrist in them."

Mota'na State: "Of course you pansies wouldn't. You think you're too perfect yourself to get caught up in real politics and would rather decide on which dog looks cuter on some stupid social media app."

Me'cio State: "Just shut up! Holy tectonics of Z'verto you're annoying! Why can't you just shut your yapper and be like Wa'hii for once in your goddamn sovereignty."

Wa'hii state: *Silence*

Ca'forna State: "Probably because they're too projecting about their own internal politics that they're acting like this. "Wahh, liberal says this, liberal says that!" just shut up. Freedom of opinion, part of the Freedom of Person amendment you blab about all day."

Mota'na State: "Oh don't act like you don't got your own problems. All that homelessness and those so-see-all-ist policies or however you say it. Probably why your homelessness is so damn high too. Look at Wis'cosi, they've got barely any market restrictions and they're doing better with homelessness than you!"

Wis'cosi State: "Money good, money life. Keep your politics away from me. Unless we're talking about inflation... are we?"

Ca'forna State: "Goddamn it. For one, they're only 4 places behind me! And two, they have a smaller population! Your logic makes no damn sense, Mota'na."

The Deep West in unison: "Can't you all can it for a damn moment! We're tryin' to ignore the outside world!"

Ind'ana State: "Uhm, I think we got off track here... I was just wondering why we all can't get along."

Mota'na and Ca'forna States: "Because politics!"

Ind'ana State: "But why can't we just... get along? Y'know? Instead of 'The Z'vo states', we become 'Z'verto State'."

Mota'na State: "That's a stupid, eastern, pansy, liberal idea-"

Te'as State: "Well hold on there, they make a good point. Why can't we just work together? Or as the easterners say, 'Just be bros'? And cool it with calling people pansies, Mota'na. It's disrespectful."

Mota'na: "Fine..."

*Collapses regardless of lessons learned*

I just did a typing.com test twice, getting 42 and 44 WPM both at 95%. I'm definitely better when I'm making up whatever I'm writing as I go, and better still with the right music, but probably not much more than 50 or something, especially as I tend to use longer words like "renumeration" or "therefore".

Yes and no. Maxifaer is a sorta joke about the USA. The misspellings are on purpose. They will be changed once I remake the Z'vertonan language.

A nation based on a joke? How could that be! It's not like the entirety of Dushina is based on a 2015 song about cats.
(And a satire of authoritarianism and dictators, Dushina is also that.)

Hello there, Worst isolationist nation ever, Srami!

Welcome to the Pacific! There are a lot of ways to enjoy NationStates, and the Pacific caters to all of them. To get started in the Pacific, it's important that you complete the below steps to fully enjoy your experience here in the Pacific and the New Pacific Order as either a new NationStates player, newcomer to the Pacific, or as a returning NationStates player.

  • First things first, join the World Assembly! It's like the United Nations but in NationStates. If you're confused on how to join the World Assembly, this guide should be able to help you out.

    -
    New Pacific Order
    -

What is the World Assembly and why should I join it?

The World Assembly, often abbreviated as "WA", is the NationStates equivalent of the real-world United Nations.

    • Vote on game-wide legislation: World Assembly member nations are able to vote on resolutions that reach the floor of the General Assembly and Security Council, thus allowing you to participate in determining game-wide legislation.

    • Endorse other nations: WA nations may endorse (similar to social media "likes") other nations in the same region as them.

    • Write WA resolutions: WA nations with 2 (two) or more endorsements may submit WA resolutions of their own for the entire game to vote on.

    • Bolster the strength of your region: The more endorsements our delegate, East Durthang, has, the larger the weighted delegate vote in the World Assembly is, granting us more influence over international WA affairs. Furthermore, the more endorsements our leadership holds, the more difficult it is for hostile forces to seek to invade or disrupt the stability of our home.

    • Become a Pacifican Vanguard: Nations who endorse our delegate receive the title Pacifican Vanguard, are featured on this list, and are eligible for exclusive rewards, such as custom nation banners.

Joining the World Assembly is the easiest step you can take in order to participate more in NationStates!

How do I join the World Assembly?

Follow the following five simple steps to get started in the World Assembly. If you need help, click on the spoiler sections to reveal screenshots of each step.

    1. Visit: page=un

    2. Click "Apply to Join". You must have an email registered with your account to access this feature.

    3. Go to your affiliated email and click the link provided. If you cannot find it, check your spam folder.

    4. You will be directed to a page where confirmation is required. Click the confirmation button on the page.

    5. When you are in the World Assembly, visit East Durthang's page and find the "Endorse East Durthang" button. Click this. Once that is done, you will have successfully endorsed your Delegate!

    -
    • Please note that the game only allows you to have one nation as a World Assembly member at any given time! NationStates moderation may remove and/or ban your nations from the World Assembly and/or the game for violating this rule.
    • If, for roleplaying reasons, you do not wish to join the World Assembly make a separate nation to use as your World Assembly nation.

    What is Discord?

Having probably heard about New Pacific Order's Discord server, either from your fellow Pacificans or from simply reading the regional page or dispatches, you might be wondering how to join it. Or not, if you are already a proficient Discord user, simply skip every step until the one where the server link is posted.

Now, for those unaware, LinkDiscord is a communication app available in browser, PC app or mobile format that allows its users to form large organized communities. These communities are called servers, in most cases, and each one has its own specific organization and set of rules and moderators. The intent of this dispatch is to provide an initial introduction to how to function with Discord and, more particularly, the NPO's server.

    Benefits of Joining Discord

    • The ability to become fully integrated with all opportunities available in The Pacific and make the most out of your citizenship is attained through joining the most active aspect of the region.

    • A chance to help determine the regional direction for the World Assembly votes is also available if you so wish to help dictate our decision for specific proposals, including your own.

    • Discord gives you an easier route to meeting the extant regional leadership, discussing regional affairs, and is necessary for people who aspire to become involved in our government.

    • Inclusion in the full regional experience and introduction to the wider community of the New Pacific Order is available through Discord membership.

    Getting Started with Discord

The first step would be to make an account in Discord itself. While not necessary to utilize server it is usually recommended due to ease of reusability and practicality. An account is absolutely free and simply unlocks a lot of features that a guest user might not have. Simply go to Linkhttps://discord.com and register an account, preferably with a username that won't breach any NPO rules, and this step should be done. You'll inevitably be prompted to confirm your email, so simply check your inbox.

With your account registered you now have a few options. You can choose to do one of them, or even all of them. You can open Discord on your browser, download and install the application or download the mobile app. Any of them will work for the purposes of this tutorial, though the PC app is more flexible in terms of functionality (use of one platform does not exclude the use of others).

LinkClick here to join the NPO Discord server. It is as simple as that after every previous step has been accomplished. Click it and after a prompt to join the server you will be in. Now comes the more specific part.

Upon joining the server, if you have already applied for citizenship and been accepted (if not, check this dispatch for a guide on how to do it) Linkpost here to request that your account be added to private channels.

If you have any more questions pertaining to the use of Discord itself, feel free to ask the people within the server for help. We hope your experience within the community is fun and fruitful.
