Because they are at the stage where they don't need to be here. Their duties aren't relevant to the RMB and their reputations are solidified. The RMB is for those who need to make a name for themselves or just enjoy the chaos; if you are already known and dislike the madness, why bother?

The Pacifics present Pacific-Con

Welcome to Pacific-Con!

Pacific-Con is an interregional event planned and co-hosted by the New Pacific Order · The East Pacific · The North Pacific · The South Pacific · The West Pacific. This event is a place for everyone of the five Pacific regions to come together and have a good time. Throughout the event, we will have speakers for gameplay and roleplay, in-character events for roleplayers, wargame exercises, and fun games for everyone to play.

In December 2019, Pacific-Con started as an idea. The purpose of the event was to bring together each of the Pacific regions in a gathering to promote a harmonious multilateral relationship based on the one ocean we share. This idea was put into action in February 2020 when the leaders of each government came together on a skeleton Discord server to discuss how this event could move forward. It was there where we came to an agreement to hold Pacific-Con.

So without any further ado, the Pacifics present Pacific-Con!

Basic information

Components

Gameplay

Participants will be able to discuss and ask questions about gameplay on NationStates, which pertains to regional governance, raiding and defending (R/D), and the World Assembly. Several speakers have been scheduled to give voice lectures or panels on these topics on Discord, so make sure to join the server and give yourself the Gameplay role in #role-assignment.

Roleplay

On Discord, roleplayers will find that a new canon has developed. After a crisis that affected the multiverse, a new world has emerged. Now, there are so many people unsure what the future holds for them. A debate between world leaders and a banquet between national delegations will help us find a path. Meanwhile, the sports world have organised the inaugural Pan-Pacific Cup. There will also be opportunities to share your favourite moments from regional roleplay as well. Several speakers have been scheduled to give voice lectures or panels on roleplay on Discord, so make sure to join the server and give yourself the Roleplay role in #role-assignment.

Wargames

The third component of Pacific-Con is catered for everyone interested in military gameplay. For the duration of the event, participants will be assigned to one of six teams named after places in the real-life Pacific Ocean: Aleutian, Auckland, Erikub, Malpelo, Rarotonga, and Shikoku. These teams will compete for control over Warzone PacificCon. To participate in this component of the event, make sure to join the Discord server and give yourself the Warzone role in #role-assignment.
