The Grand Duchy of Tuscany is a gargantuan, genial nation, ruled by Leopold II with an even hand, and renowned for its keen interest in outer space and compulsory military service. The quiet, industrious population of 27.383 billion Tuscans are highly moralistic and fiercely conservative, in the sense that they tend to believe most things should be outlawed. People who have good jobs and work quietly at them are lauded; others are viewed with suspicion.

The large government juggles the competing demands of Welfare, Defense, and Spirituality. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Florence. The average income tax rate is 46.2%, but much higher for the wealthy.

The large but inefficient Tuscan economy, worth 968 trillion florins a year, is broadly diversified and led by the Information Technology industry, with significant contributions from Uranium Mining, Soda Sales, and Tourism. State-owned companies are reasonably common. Average income is 35,352 florins, and evenly distributed, with the richest citizens earning only 2.6 times as much as the poorest.

Billions of florins are being poured into a space program, Tuscany successfully hosted the Italian Regions Olympics, Leopold II has just been declared ruler of Tuscany in an international press conference, and Tuscany has designated Florence as its capital city. Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown, thanks to a well-funded police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Tuscany's national animal is the eagle and its national religion is Roman Catholicism.

Tuscany is ranked 117,980th in the world and 13th in Italian Regions for Most Beautiful Environments, with 542.16 pounds of wildlife per square mile.
