- - - 2:47 PM - The Princes Palace (Osas, Royal Nigaria) - - -

Prince Fiennes Frey, Prince Dreka Daz and Prince Rojo Yerf stand surrounded by their seats of state, watching the news continue to reel in about the terrorist attacks at the Grand Central Station in Mathorn. Many of the generals were planning on the logistics of moving more troops if they were required to assist the 7th Supporting Infantry with the recent terror attack. The ones that were not involved in that aspect were preparing to bolster their own defences in case this was to become an international issue.

After much intense arguing over the methods of transport and the equipment that would be used, Prince Daz stood from his seat, ushering in silence across the room. All eyes turned to him, and they awaited his words. Prince Daz looked over his men, pondering over what he should say, what input he should give. He finally decided his words.

Prince Daz: Gentlemen, this here today was a tragic event that many were not prepared for. With that in mind, our first actions should be to begin preparing our own nation for other attacks like this. Secondly, now that the 7th Supporting Infantry has been moved to assist, we need to re plan the training's for our new generals.

Across the room, General Rookie Tohka coughs to catch the rooms attention.

General Tohka: My Prince, I believe this couldn't have been done at a better time. This gives us vital training for an occurrence we might never get to replicate in our own borders. Because of this, Ive sent out General Mazdak to finish his training with the 7th. At the end of the day, this may give us some new practice for a situation we haven't seen since the Great Tribal Conflict.

While General Tohka was talking, Prince Daz glanced over to his other Princes. Both of them had their heads in overdrive, both of them thinking about their own aspects on how to deal with the situation. Both had their own concerns, their own strategies, their own morals.

Prince Frey was solely thinking about turning a bad situation into good press. Of course, the better Nigaria seemed internationally, the better he had done his job. Prince Yerf, however, was a lot more sombre. His entire mentality was wound up around wanting to do good for goods sake, not taking advantage. Slowly, Prince Yerf stood up, and walked across the marble floor towards a balcony overlooking Osas. He took a deep breath in, swarming his mental image together. The entire room waited in anticipation of what his final verdict was.

Prince Yerf: I want the 7th to be placed in Mathorn until further notice, with the 5th and 6th Royal Infantry on standby to also provide support if requested.

General Tokha nodded, and left the room to consult with his Upper Kommand team.

Prince Yerf: As for the rest of you, continue your activities for now. That is all... except for you, General Guida.

All the generals nodded, saluted with a loud cry of "Karrak", and filed out of the room bar one individual, General Junipa Guida. he stood tall and stiff, awaiting his next set of orders. Prince Yerf turned from the balcony and strode back towards the general, his brain now in full efficiency mode.

Prince Yerf: Start Operation: Cool Winds, effective immediately. I want to put your boys to the test. Lets see if it was worth it.

※ Free Republic of Norway | Office of the Prime Minister ※
[– Republikken Fritt Noregs Statsministers Kontor –]

In response to the currently ongoing events both in Europe and around the entire globe, the Free Republic of Norway has invited representatives from Mathorn, Nogodia and Kestir to convene in the Zlomich local capital Zlomsgard to discuss further and closer cooperation regarding the current events and the future.

The Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, under the leadership of Secretary Torodd Vinter and his Under-Secretary Steinn Halvorsen, is currently drafting an agreement which they will present to the other representatives attending said meeting in Zlomsgard. This agreement shall ensure peaceful coexistence and productive cooperation in the North Atlantic region and the Baltic Sea. It seeks to promote democratic principles and human rights both in the contracting nations and on a global scale, as well as establishing a free trade zone in the waters between the contracting nations, namely the Norwegian Sea, the Baltic Sea and the North Sea.

The governments of the mentioned states have already confirmed their willingness to attend and the government of Nogodia has consented to host such meeting on the Zlomich Islands, due to their central position between the participating nations; however, a specific date and time has yet to be agreed on. The Norwegian Government hopes that the participating governments will reach a consensus on the matter in hand and that it will lead to peace and prosperity in our nations.

- - - Presidential and Vice-Presidential Press Conference - - -

The President, Sam White, and the Vice-President, Adam Carver, walk out in George House's Press Room. Two podiums are arranged, with two Mathornian flags leant up behind the wall behind each podium. A wood panel can be seen separating the space behind the two podiums, which has the seal of the President of Mathorn engraved into it. The heads of the assembled press corps can be seen at the bottom of the camera shots.

The President lays a folder on the podium, as does the Vice-President. The President looks straight ahead, and begins to speak.

Sam White (President of Mathorn): "My fellow Mathornians, yesterday our nation came under attack. Two people, both of whom perished in the resulting explosions, planted and ignited several bombs, within the vicinity of Polaris' Grand Central Station, including on the Polaris Underground. It is my sad duty to announce that, overnight, the death toll from this attack has, sadly, risen by 166, to a total, as of 9 AM this morning, to 602 deaths. Sadly, this figure is still expected to rise, as 386 patients remain critically ill in incentive care units."

"The heroism of the emergency services, the police, the ambulance service and the fire brigade, should be applauded. They ran towards danger, not knowing if there was to be a second attack, or if there remained unexploded bombs. The emergency services ran towards danger, in an heroic effort to save lives. We also praise and applaud those civilians who stopped and helped those injured in the attack. It is hard to find words to express my debt, and my gratitude to the NHS. But before I come to that I want to thank every Mathornian this morning. The past few days have been extraordinarily scary, but as a community, collectively as a nation, we have come together and are even more united then ever before. These terrorists wish to divide us, and to do us harm, but their actions have led to the exact opposite of that. As a nation, we will get through this crisis, and we will come out more united and unified than ever before. I can only imagine how tough it has been, especially for the loved ones of the victims, whom have had husbands, wives, fathers, mothers, children and grandchildren cruelly taken away. This is a fight we never picked, against an enemy we still don't fully understand."

"This country's greatest asset is our National Health Service. In our nation's illustrious and expansive history, our country has risen and overcome various challenges and crises. And we shall do so again. Last night, I saw the immense pressure that that hospitals in the capital are under, when I visited St. Barnabas Hospital, where I met the most fantastic nurses, doctors, surgeons, cleaners, cooks, physios, radiographers, pharmacists and other healthcare workers of varying professions. The majority of these people remained at work overnight, well after their normal shift should have ended, indeed many staff members came into work on their day off. These people, who have the courage to put the lives of others, ahead of their own personal lives, are undoubtedly heroes. It is thanks to that courage, that devotion, that duty, and their love for others, that our NHS is unbeatable."

"Across this country, 24 hours a day, for every second, of every hour, the NHS allows us to win battles such as the one we are facing right now. We will win because the NHS is the beating heart of this country. It is the best of this country. It is unconquerable. It is powered by love. Thank you to all the incredible NHS staff, from me, and from every Mathornian."

"The Mathornian people, rightly demand answers. They demand justice. As do I. I am angry. I am sad. I am mourning. The Mathornian people are angry. They are sad. They are in mourning. Investigations are still ongoing, and these will produce answers. Let it be known, that for those responsible for this assault on our national way of life, we will find you, and we will bring you to justice - come hell, or high water. "

7:40pm, The Château de Versailles :: Diplomatic Discussions.

As evening turns to night at Versailles, many of the guests and courtiers, filled with the extravagances of food and wine, retire to their quarters for rest. Versailles is filled with whispers and faint movements and this forms the only soundtrack in the otherwise silent halls of kings, illuminated by vast fleets of lights. Whilst the dwimmer of Versailles indulgent parades of wealth begins to fade, politics at Versailles appears to never dwindle in either it’s magnitude or protean nature. After comprehending international calamities such as the recent terrorist bombings in Polaris, the Mathornian ambassador to the Court of St. Louis, Nigel Dickens has been invited to an evening's meeting/after dinner coffee with Monsieur de Launay, Liaison to the Mathornian Embassy at Versailles.

Mr. Dickens, a man of respectable yet almost phlegmatic disposition is amongst ministers and officers of the crown favoured for his demeanor and professionalism, his behaviour at Versailles is respectful and he is considered one of the most well behaved of the foreign guests.

As Mr Dickens enters one of the many anterooms at Versailles he is greeted by a Servant dressed in the king’s livery, the man looks like he’s from the 18th century with his his full-skirted knee-length tight necked coat, ornately decorated in royal blue woollen fabric with crimson and white braid, white silk gloves, knee breeches and a red waistcoat. His legs with red silk stockings and leather shoes. Atop his head, a white high top wig with single curls as well as a blue silk bow tied at the back. The servant stops Mr. Dickens, before knocking 3 times on the tall ornate baroque doors glistening with gold accents, a faint ‘Oui’ can be heard from the other side of the door. The servant, then stands to one side out of Mr. Dickens way and opens the door towards himself allowing Dickens passage.

Mr Dickens enters and the smell of coffee fills his senses, within the room there’s plenty of ornate furniture in cyan blue in Louis XIV style baroque, meticulously kept and positioned in the middle of the room where a table, also baroque, sits with coffee cups with saucers and silver sugar pots. Three gentlemen appear to be lounging, laughing and enjoying coffee as they discuss recent events. They appear to be dressed in more modern suits of the 21st century.

A servant from within, makes a short bow, and announces to the gentleman the name of the newly inhabiting face:

Servant: “Your Grace, Messieurs, Monsieur Dickens, Mathornian Ambassador to His Majesty’s Court.”

The Marquis de Launay, rises and nods in respect of the newly welcomed guest.

Launay: “Peters, make our esteemed guest some coffee.”

The servant leaves the room briefly to prepare Mr. Dickens his coffee.

Dickens: “I thank Your Grace’s hospitality.”

Launay: “My pleasure. Monsieur Dickens, these are my friends, Monsieur Henri Necker, Director of the Royal Bank of France and Monsieur Xavier Gouin Third Estate representative for the Bailliage of Meaux.

Dickens: *Greets both* “Messieurs.”

The men acknowledging the Ambassador, briefly greet the man and take their leave after once more nodding to the Marquis before exiting.

Launay: “Anyway, enough of these Parisian pleasantries, we have business to attend to Monsieur.”

Dickens: Indeed we do Your Grace. A crisis is brewing in Europe once more with a provocative alliance made as a result of your government’s signing of the Treaty of Loch Garman. Our government is worried that the power of Europe might once again be displaced with the immediate effect of war, something that my government wishes to avoid at any cost.”

A servant comes with an ornate carafe and pours coffee into Dickens cup as he speaks.

Launay: “I wish for you to convey to the government in Polaris that this ministry’s immediate wish is to remain peaceful at all costs. With this I received this letter today from the Foreign Office which reads the official condemnation of whoever bombed the capital and caused the countless suffering of your people. Furthermore, I am authorised by my sovereign to convey this government's wish for a free trade zone between France and Mathorn to enhance relations and improve our economic cooperation.“

Dickens: “This is a most compelling suggestion Your Grace, I thank you and will return my government's decision with due punctuality.”

Launay: “I am glad you think so.”

The Marquis rises with his cup and saucer with a dismayed look on his face, walking over to the servant, he whispers into his ear, the servant promptly leaves.

Launay: “There is still an issue yet to be resolved Monsieur.”

Dickens: “Your Grace?”

Launay: “We need assurances that any military alliance with Nogodia is but conjecture, for those warmongering and uncivilised peoples continue to threaten the stability of Europe. I think you and I agree that should never happen.”

Dickens: “I will convey this message to my government and return promptly with an answer. My own personal wishes must not cloud my professional stance, however I too view the situation with trepidation."

As the night wears on, talks continue, at around 1:00 am the talks end and both parties leave for the night.

(I wait for Mathorn to give their official response to these talks. Apologies for the wooden dialogue and poor descriptions, this style of RP is not my forte.)

- - - Department of Commerce - Official Press Release - - -

The Secretary of Commerce, Mrs. Zoe Smith, will be traveling to the Faroe Islands in the coming days, in order to sign The Treaty of Zlomsgard. The Secretary of Commerce only has the authority to sign economic agreements, on behalf of the Mathornian Government, and these economic agreements are subject to the Senate's approval - as per the Constitution.

Therefore, The United Provinces of Mathorn, at this time, will not be entering into a joint military alliance with Nogodia, or Kestir.

You do border a superpower that, I imagine, with increasing inhospitality to the world and its people, would ensure the downfall of its empire located in a tundra and permafrost biome, where, arable land is near impossible to come by, which, in result would not support the historical records that this country has supported a massive military, navy, airforce, and military-industrial complex with millions of people stranded within the frozen biomes or the Ural Mountains, which, if you haven't noticed is hard to live in, and, I presume that is why there is scattered military garrisons of this superpower around the world, one in the Chicago area to where it is completely separated from the Mainland, and that this superpower is without a doubt, unrealistic, however, we live in an alternate world, where France is a little bigger, to which their opportunity has been taken and peacefully settled, where Angola is slightly more resource rich, where the History of this world doesn't mean anything.
