On the Matter of the Charitian Campaign

At the grating of my advisers as well as the Council, I have decided to release the following diplomatic statement.
Sometime earlier in this year, our nation, the nation of Gunichatara, entered into a political and military alliance with Merlovich, The angel of charity, and Nova-Columbia. When this alliance extended a proposal for us to join them, I realized that some of our nation's beliefs would be violated based upon the nature of the alliance's members. However, I decided to enter based upon the Council's recommendation in a matter of democracy and following the vote of the citizenry. Let it be known that while I did allow Gunichatara to join this alliance, I was against it from the beginning.
It seems to me that my predictions are coming to fruition at this point of time. Already, a conflict arises between one of our allies and an unknown nation with little to no just cause of war from our ally's side. This is not a war I would personally support as a citizen of this nation, were I not the Chieftan.
Yet, this is what the Council wanted. Now, the Council will have to watch and hope that one day our violation of another nation's sovereignty will not backfire upon ourselves and our people. The only thing that removes this burden from my heart is the fact that there seems to be an uprising occurring in Kianhua, against the native government. So maybe this war is turning out for the best.
Nonetheless, with heavy regret and asking for repentance from the Great Phoenix, I hereby declare diplomatic support for the Charitian Empire in its campaign in Kianhua, and I also declare that military support of some form will be available upon request.
