The Lexington, a simple trading cog was traversing the south coast of Mathorn. It was a crisp summers day, and just after midday. The Lexington, owned by Portsmouth Trading Inc. was transporting high value cargo from Portsmouth to wealthy clients in Polaris. The sky was clear, and there was not a cloud in sight. The Lexington's captain, Lucas Ritter, was in his quarters, drinking the best vintage of champagne available and snaking on an assortment of grapes, apples and a variety of meat.

Suddenly, a junior shipmate rushed in. "Captain. The Michellaeians are here". Captain Ritter spat out his grapes; "You what?". Ritter got up from behind his dinner table, and walked up the steps. Sure enough, there was huge Michellaeian Ship of the Line moored to the small trading cog. An assortment of Royal Michellaeian foot soldiers, armed with muskets and several with swords, all neatly dressed in their royal uniforms. The leader of the company came up to Ritter, and simply said in a french accent: "Monsuir, we can either do this the hard way, or the easier way... Now where's your gold?"
