All of the Gram class cruisers their front two railguns were all charred to uselessness, the copper melted, titanium-gold alloy rails had lost all their gold and so most conductivity. Admiral Panerelli took note of this and commanded the Gram class to turn around to allow for use of the rear two railguns, this would take some time, but time can be bought. Panerelli noticed the white glow emanating from the lasers on the ships, streamed from the scopes of the ship strait to the battle map, decided to send 20 or so Asi class Patrol boats on a collision course towards the Skylancers, they wouldn't risk using their small lasers, and as such would have to use bigger lasers for smaller targets. "this ought to be interesting" He thought.
A sensors operator yelled to the captain of The Dragon "Hydra down sir, She's dumping core!"
"Evade the fuel!" The engine of The Dragon came to life and started burning, the pilot laughed as to him it was a technological marvel, the leonists would laugh at how inefficient the drives are, though he didn't know that. With their drive The Drake lurched to life as well. Now barreling towards the other ships the Dragon and Drake prepared to use their PDC's to attempt to shred the enemy ships. The two ships began to launch torpedoes that would stay behind the ship until the last moment in hopes that amidst the tungsten slugs and titanium ceramic plating of the ship they might make a hit. If the ships got hit by almost any laser they would be as good as dead, their paint absorbs almost all light. One of the ships, The Drake dropped a small pod sending a signal saying, "should any ship on any side survive, to look for survivors, in space, in the end everyone needs together"

The Fliegenfänger was a technological marvel. Laid down in 2018 and only comissioned in December 2019, it was one of the newest ships in the entire Imperiale Marine. Its "M900" 900 MW fusion reactor was driving both the ship itself as well as its armament of 6 "Lichtbringer" 20 MW lasers and 52 "Illuminator" 5 MW lasers. Four "UBA" supercavitating anti-submarine and anti-torpedo underwater gun turrets as well as two MRM-16 multiple missile launchers completed its arsenal, which made it near impervious against aerial or submarine attack. In a battle in which the projectiles were impossible to count for any human brain, its digital battle computer did most of the work, as it assigned new targets to the lasers every few seconds. A few torpedoes had also been shot down already. But now the Fliegenfänger was confronted by a very primitive tactic that had already ruled the seas in ancient times, when the Roman predecessors of the Imperials first took to the sea: Ramming.

The Skylancer frigates did not possess much in the way of stopping power. Suddenly, 20 Asi class patrol boats were headed towards the ship on a collision course. The gunners had no choice but to swing their 20 MW lasers around to fight the ships, which stopped the counter-fire on the railguns. One of the MRM-16 launchers launched four missiles, two of which sank two patrol boats each. A nearby Protector class frigate jumped into the fray and fired its 270 mm main guns onto the boats. Some shots missed the agile vessels, but two more of them erupted into flames and sunk. The protector launched some Imperiales Modell 19 torpedoes and sank another patrol boat. But now, they were getting too close for comfort to the Skylancer. The captain ordered all weapons to fire onto the attackers, creating a veritable lightshow. But now, the 5 MW lasers could no longer intercept missiles, and three of those struck the nearby Protector class frigate, which burst into smoke and flames, beginning to listen to port.

Despite the barrage of fire, from lasers, missiles and torpedoes, four Asi made it through, and impacted the Fliegenfänger with brute force. The ship nearly capsized from the impact alone. Crews on both ships had largely survived the collision, and grabbed rifles and pistols for an old-fashioned naval infantry battle, like as if the Asi were 18th century pirates. Those guns of the Skylancer that still worked remained largely unattended, with everyone focused on repelling the enemy sailors.

This allowed more missiles to sneak through the "hole" in the protective screen formed by the Skylancers, sinking a Pilum class missile cruiser and two Bremen class corvettes nearby.

Hello, I had a question about the scale of LazMap. I remember that there has already been talks about it, but I'd like to get more precision. I've asked on the Lazarus RP Discord server, but it's unfortunately not that active.

Your imaginary friend

Satanic empire

The Satanic island near Darnel has temporarily limited all southern aligned ships from docking.

The seventh Satanic fleet is dispatched from Sath to the Southern sea, to fortify the island.

On the island, the local Satanic garrison has declared martial law. The military governor ordered naval ships around the island now patrol the surrounding waters, steering none Satanic ships away.

The War Council made several statements on Southern hostility this morning. It is clear that the Satanic Empire will support its Northern allies in any coming conflict.

There is no definitive answer yet. It is canon that it takes a fleet sailing from say Leonism to Cossack Peoples around two weeks, maybe three for slower ships, which would imply a scale similar to Planet Earth. Earlier discussions, based on the fact that all Lazarene nations have enormous populations, imply a much larger planet. In my own factbooks I state that the Imperium of Leonism is about 14 million square kilometers big, which is nearly as large as real-life Russia. If you look at the map and Leonism's size and place on it, this would only work if Lazarus itself was much larger than Earth.

When thinking about draft texts for the (yet unfinished) RMB RP rules and setting definitions, I considered implementing a correction factor of 0,1 to all populations (i.e. divide them by 10), which might make the numbers a little more plausible, without taking away the fantastic large-scale approach of NationStates, which I personally quite like.

In earlier discussions, I proposed a Planet Lazarus with a diameter of 100.000 km, compared to Earth's 12.000 km. This, however, would make travel times much more sluggish. And most people, when asked, wanted to maintain the "real time" approach, i.e. one day in real-life equals one day in Lazarus RP.

So, you see, lots of conflicting information on this topic.

EDIT: Aigania repeatedly suggested to make Lazarus a kind of "hub" planet, with different people from different dimensions meeting here. Glorious society and, in a way, Satanic empire have a backstory that would fit in with this concept. I personally don't like it one bit, to be honest, despite it being a sensible idea to reconcile the problems mentioned above. But it feels to "artificial" too me. I'd rather have one "Planet Lazarus" that actually is home to all the people of all the nations in the region.

Sadly, no. If His Holy Heftitude ate lunch, then retconjured that He hadn't, He would never have eaten lunch, and so could not have enjoyed it. As the Lady said/implied, Retconjuration is extremely powerful, extremely dangerous, and not to be used lightly*.

A hub planet? Interdimensional theory? So, does that mean the Cossack Peoples could potentially have been the Soviet space cossacks?

General Broadcast

People of Lazarus. As we speak, large fleets clash in the South Sea, with a tremendous loss of life and material damage. This is the result of a heinous and unprovoked attack by the Southern Compact on Imperial ships. Yesterday, two of our unarmed freighters were sunk, unprovoked, by submarine attack in the Cossack Strait. While the FRCPN initially acted as if they were trying to find and destroy the unknown attacker, we now assume that was just a trap to lure us into a false sense of security. The remaining six freighters from the convoy have by now reached their destination in The Sigometh Dynasty. We, the Imperium of Leonism, signed a mutually beneficial treaty with that nation that grants us the right to build a base on a stretch of land we rightfully bought from the souvereign nation of Sigometh Dynasty.

The Southern Compact, however, does not accept other souvereign nations making deals in their neighbourhood. It unilaterally, and without a declaration of war or even an ultimatium, attacked our fleet in international waters, far from any of their shores. The Southern nations paint this act as a just defense from Imperialism, but none of their nations were ever directly attacked or even threatened by our forces before.

We call on all nations, who believe in the principles of souvereignity, of free shipping, freedom of navigation and diplomacy, to come to our aid and repel this savage assault. The Southern Compact tries to frame this conflict as a "North" vs "South" scenario. But we all know that the nations of both the Northern and the Southern hemisphere are diverse, with each having their own interests, alliances, rivalries and cultures. There is no such thing as a Southern culture, nor is there a Northern culture. The fact that we have good diplomatic relations with The Sigometh Dynasty and were on the verge of signing a similar treaty with New vedan, both of them undoubtedly Southern nations, is proof enough. With their antagonistic approach, the Southern Compact even drove our former perennial rivals, Custadia and Snoodum into our arms. Both nations now assist our efforts, in different ways, with Custadian ships suffering under the unprovoked missile barrage the same as ours, while Snoodum has honorably vowed to bolster the defences or both of our homelands.

With three of the four largest military powers united against Southern aggression, the Southern Compact stands no chance of victory. And yet they persist in unnecessary bloodshed! All we Imperials want is the right to navigate the Cossack-Vedanian strait, and any other international waterway. We do not desire Southern territory and do not intend to influence the domestic policies of the Southern nations unless there are clear human rights violations that civilized countries cannot stand aside from. If you feel our cause is just, please support us in our efforts.

Glorious society

I'm here to help but forgive me if it's bad. I'm currently really tired.

Admiral Harker stood on his flagship. The Valiant, a Paladin-Class Carrier. The Cossack navy had fired multiple missile loads and the Dernellian navy was doing weird railgun things that he didn't fully understand and now it was his turn. His attention switched over to the fighter jets deploying. He sighed. He gave the order to the destroyers to begin shooting down aircraft and launching returning fire at the damnable Leonism fleets. The battleships Leonism was using caused him to consider requesting battleships from the Homeport.
Captain Williams stood on the The Eternal, a missile cruiser outfitted with anti-ship weaponry. The guns turned towards the Leonist battleships and unleashed a volley of missiles hoping to cripple the ships. Captain Williams turned back to the war map.

I mean, it's more along the lines of a damaged colony ship ended up in the Lazarus star system after the Dimensional Jump Drive was damaged and just made a rough landing on the Home Islands. A rough landing which killed about 3 million of the 8 million on the ship. If it had been at all possible then they would have aimed for an uninhabited hospitable planet.

Other than that possible outcome Dernel would like to keep their good relations with Satanic empire.

Thank you for your answer Leonism ! It's true that I'd ratther have Fluffiness have 20 millions inhabitants (or 200) than its current 2 billion. As for the larger distances, if the size of the planet was 10 times bigger than Earth, this could serve to explain the delays in RP, and force to have more diplomatic exchange with other nations to get rights for transports to refill in their countries. I don't find it too much of a bother, but I get it it may be too big though.

Also, big thanks to people writing RP ! It's great and I'm really enjoy reading it so far !

With this the warm ODPs sparked to life, only about 3 ODPs could fire at them directly and that's how many would fire on them. With one command, "Fire!" from the drone commander the operators pressed the trigger on the back of their control columns. The ODPs began to fire repetitively AA shells, capsules that would survive reentry and then crack open before reaching a target to spread explosive charges over a wide area, almost like a net of explosive. In total each capsule would release 8kg of explosives with the explosive force nearly that of C4 of an equal weight.

"We are saddened by the state of affairs in Lazarus," Sirakles Tylosis said. "It is clear that an end must come, and tearing one another apart in a global conflict benefits no one and harms all. We must not go down that road and in order to preserve peace which we all hold so sacred, I would like to extend the offer to host talks here in Mzikos. We may be in tense times, but with discussion and negotiation, I have no doubt that all can be resolved to the satisfaction of the Northern powers and the Southern powers alike."
