Aizcona so what are the main historical/cultural beats of the new nation going to be like?
From a historical standpoint this nation starts off as two main cultures separated into a Mesder Sea culture and a Southern Sea Culture. The Mesder Sea Culture will start off first and earlier and take on a Greek role for my history with a large expansion that places a burden on the young city of Estra. Soon after that empires collapse into a number of city states and kingdoms we get the rise of the Estral Republic. This republic will take on a very Roman-esc approach from an expansion stand point and a cultural standpoint although the governmental structure and alot of other things like that takes heritage from Ancient Carthage and the Phoenicians. Along with that all of this is wrapped up in the Basque language to complete the medditeranean, but slightly alien, feel that I am going for.
As time goes on the republic does collapse into a number of new states and cities. These can turn into the basis for other nations in Argus or be places for barbarians or other cultures to push into. This fractured state would remain for a long time until the Estral Republic is born anew. At that point its a nation that rides its own past glory so hard and so delirious that they believe they are pretty much the chosen people of this world. At the same time though they are willing to accept others willing to accept them as long as they can meet their standards.
I'm trying to bring a Roman Republic feel to the modern age a bit, while keeping it also tied together into what Carthage was. Overall this place wants to be the best, they want wealth and they want glory.

I was cleaning up my tank and had to let go one of my big java ferns which made me sad, but it had about half a dozen viable baby plants hanging out on the end of the leaves so I'm gonna glue them onto my new cave deco.
They're all chilling in a plastic cup for now lol
A few of the plants I just put in are beginning to really melt, which was expected of course, but it means the tanks sort of in a transitional phase for the moment
