I don't consider myself good at designing flags - for some of my nations I even adopted a flag of just one colour, like the previous flag of Libya - but I'd avoid
- too many colours
- white and yellow together
- no white or yellow at all
- the flag of Noord-Brabant

However the true key is not using flag ripple like a troglodyte.
From the North American Vexilogical Association
Keep It Simple. The flag should be so simple that a child can draw it from memory.
Use Meaningful Symbolism. The flag's images, colors, or patterns should relate to what it symbolizes
Use 2 or 3 Basic Colors. Limit the number of colors on the flag to three which contrast well and come from the standard color set
No Lettering or Seals. Never use writing on any kind or an organization's seal
Be Distinctive or Be Related. Avoid duplicating other flags, but use similarities to show connections

You got sun in your name, and the first flag that came to mind was Uruguay which has a sun. That could serve as a bit of inspiration along with other suggestions.
