One question: is it possible for me to participate in the RP without being a citizen? Because I'd really like to have a spot on the map and roleplay with the rest of you, but I don't have the time to participate in government, politics and all that stuff unfortunately.
Yeah you don't need to be a citizan to rp
Great then, how can I apply?
And you know, what else do I need to take into account that isn't written in the manuals
Ask Hansdeltania plus read the rules.
I don't think anyone here except a few support socialism and censorship, so you support the freedom of speech taken away? Gun control needs competency exams and background checks. Supporting removing guns is just asking for a tyrannical government to take over and be corrupt. Plus every social Democrat I met seems to like political correctness and Socialism. You should read up on socialism and look at Venezuela, plus if you paid attention in history. You would know every Socialist country has been broken up into smaller countries, and in massive amounts of debt. Yugoslavia, Albania, USSR, Greece had a Socialist party, not sure what it did there. Capitalism may not be perfect, but I rather have it and own property. Not the government telling me I can't have it. That's literally asking for the government to build on your property and drill for oil. If you want to see failed Socialism go to a Native American Reservation.
Whoa. Chill out. I didn't mean to insult you.
Tigerania and Argotera
Sorry.
I don't support communism or Marxism, just evolutionary socialism and Social Democracy. Many policies branded as "socialist" or radical in the United States are actually successful in places such as Germany and the Scandinavian countries, and many policies (such as a 70%+ tax on the highest tax brackets) existed in America until just a few decades ago. Finally, it is a ridiculous fantasy that even excessively armed citizens could have even a remote chance of facing the American military. Other than the police and military, and maybe a few rare rural exceptions, American citizens have no reason to own firearms. If you want to use a gun, develop the courage to enlist.
Don't forget that you always get something back from the government for your money. These countries are at the top for Human Development Index and World Happiness Report, just to name a few.
This is my other account. I decided to try and run a nation based on my personal opinions. I agree that the second amendment initially allowed citizens to rise up against a tyrannical government, but I believe that military technology has advanced well beyond the point of civilian resistance. While the Nordic model has high taxes, citizens spend less on healthcare and generally have a lower cost of living. I believe that America would do well with an increase in taxes, particularly on the highest income tax brackets. Higher income taxes can lower income inequality, which is a larger issue than many people realize or care to admit.
I agree with Emaha on this one. What Americans call "socialism" really isn't all that socialist or radical. In an American context I am both rather socialist and authoritarian, but internationally, that does not hold true. I am sorry if I offended anyone.
OOC: I blame McCarthy for our perceptions of socialism.
You didn't insult me, why would anyone support socialism.
In general the Cold War caused this. In the heads of many people Socialism is extremely evil and the worst thing a country can do because of the USSR. Most Americans probably have a strong aversion against social, not socialist, policies because they immediately associate with Communism. And especially the rich don't have any interest in social policies. They advocate the "American Dream" which doesn't really exist anymore.
