Metaxas was shocked by the response made by the Soviets. How dare they refuse a diplomatic meeting over territory they didn't even own. How dare they attempt to throw their weight around as if they had anything authority to do so even when they were engaged in two wars. Metaxas, however, was unwavering with the continuation of the fleets to their respective positions. He was confident that he would sustain little to no damage by the Soviet fleets. The reasoning for this is the following:

1) They were already at war with two separate countries who each had capable fleets (one of which was probably engaging the Soviet North Fleet anyway).

2) To risk another war with the 4th August Regime would create a capable sanction bloc and cause the people of the Gagium Soviet Republic to suffer more through war exhaustion.

3) The Greek ships carrying troops would get to their destinations first, giving the Soviets a hard time as they could only make two actions. Either act the aggressor, move through unclaimed territory (making them look like hypocrites as they are trying to prevent the Greeks from doing the exact same thing) and declare war on the 4th August Regime. Or back down and let the Greeks have their peninsulas and islands.

Truly the choice was their's, back down or commit political and international suicide! In a practical sense, the odds would be even, as, by the time the Soviets reacted and moved through parts of the DMZ of the unclaimed territories, The troops would be expected to have already dug in and entrenched themselves as to await for their assault. This would make it hard for the Soviets to push out the Greeks from their positions and would take up resources and (most importantly) time. Towards the sea, the Soviets Navy was capable but was probably already engaging Nord America's fleet and the 4th August Navy was more than capable but outnumbered. Metaxas pondered how he was to address this issue.

Suddenly, Alexandros Koryzis, his Minister of Foreign Affairs, handed him a note from the government of Gran Agreriana. Reading the note, Metaxas's eyes opened wide. While he was overjoyed, he wanted to clear somethings up with the government. In a letter of response, he stated the following:

To the Grand Emperor of Gran Agreriana, Dante Perez I

The 4th August Regime is delighted to see that we will have support from brave allies such as yourself. We shall accept your proposition under the following terms:

1) We would like to stall our declaration of war to give the Soviets a false sense of peace, thus allowing our troops to arrive in their appropriate placings and be entrenched, making it hard for the Soviets to push them out of their positions and the 4th August Regime from the continant.

2) If the war is to be won, not only would the 4th August Regime like to aquire the unclaimed lands but they would also like to claim the lands that fall under Greek irridentism that the Gagium Soviet Republic posesses*

If all these requirements are met, the 4th August Regime would be happy to join the Gran Argreriana Campaign against the Soviet and will welcome the naval support with open arms. May God continue to bless the Gran Argerianan Empire and may the Christian faith triumph over the Hammer and Sickle.

After he had sent this letter to the Empire, he gestured to Koryzis to send a message to the Gagium Soviet Republic. On paper, the Greeks would cower before the might of the Soviets and back off from their claims. However, in reality the ships will continue on the move, alert if any Soviet ship was to attack them. Due to the Mine Warfare fleet being delayed so that they would leave in 4 days time, they would be given an extra 24 fighter planes and 3 Infantry divisions **. Warfare was on the table.

(OOC: * A map of the extent of Greek irridentism will be posted on the discord
** This may be subject to edits as will the whole post

I am very tired so please, if I have made any mistakes, do notify me)

Regional RP - New France, January 1920:

Support the Status Quo - Iron Boots: The International Community are already ignoring the calls for peace stipulated by the French National Assembly, showing that New France no longer inspires respect. If anything, the French have the right to demand more from the warring world if it means bringing stability to the continent it sets its eyes upon, but a just call clearly isn't enough. France puts it's foot down and begins to take the political offensive. Cartier Island is presented to the international community as a possible location for peaceful negotiation. France calls all warring nations to cease offensive military action, and sign terms for a ceasefire, or face economic sanction. France threatens to cut all exports to Gran Agreriana if they do not halt offensive military action.

Levée en Masse! As the flames of war engulfs the neighbours of France, all men and women who can fight must prepare to do so. Producing weapons in mass will lower the cost. We will put a rifle in the hands of everyone ready to fight and die for France. Conscription will be boosted to bolster the ranks of the Grande Armée and The Colonial Army will receive double the imports, and the garrisons. If war comes to France, France will be ready, and if war comes to the French, they'll be in Paris by Christmas.

Naval Focus: If France plans to expand the royal navy, the first step is to improve and expand the naval bases. New and unique ships require constant attention to stay combat ready at all times. France builds more ports and the royal navy resumes military training.

Support the Left: France has always been a strong and proud nation, but the lack of government action has divided the people, and the humiliation of being ousted by the international community has more then offend. The Left Ascendant must unite France and assert French superiority and strength to avoid succumbing to decay. La Parti Communiste Francais support is bolstered to 45% and gaining.

Little Entante (Invite Bourdeaux): New France continues to pressure the Bourdeaux Republic into an alliance, forming the Little Entante.

Can someone explain why fascism is better then capitalism and socialism?
I want to be prepared to explain to someone why it is but I dont know exactly what to say.

Hmm, for a simple and easy description: Fascism doesn't destroy entire economies and kill hundreds of millions like communism, Fascism doesn't cause a hellscape of identity politics and anti-economic policies like a Bernie Sanders-led socialist "utopia", and fascism actually cares about the lower class and doesn't have monopolies like google running rampant as in capitalism. Fascism on the other hand, promotes the well-being of the state and people with a strong government and military and encourages unity through nationality amongst the populace. It doesn't divide the people like the modern day US, it doesn't starve millions like the communists of the 20th century, and it doesn't allow immigrants and identity politics to ruin society like in Sweden.

That should be a bare bones and simple explanation of how fascism is better than all 3. However, a decent portion of that is distancing Fascism from the degeneracy, and less of defining Fascism itself. For a true discussion and debate you will need some deeper information and details, so you ought to ask some of the folks around here with the better know-how and know-why for that, because I am not the most knowledgable of political ideologies. I just know right from wrong, and truth from falsity.

Both capitalism and communism are materialist ideas, while fascism is a more spiritual idea.

Capitalism and Communism are two sides of the same coin, capitalism values profit and efficency over culture and religion, anything that can't be sold or bought is worthless in the eyes of capitalism, thats why capitalism seeks to erase cultures, races, religions, etcétera, because divisions between people make for smaller markets.

Communism seeks the very same thing as capitalism if you boil it down, it seeks production, the creation of goods, etcétera, but in communism the profit or "surplus values" of these goods is collectivized as there isnt a bourgeoisie owner of the means of production, it is the workers who have the means of production.

There are some differences, communism is against free markets while capitalism is for free markets, communism seeks the redistribution of wealth while capitalism is for the hoarding of wealth, but in the end they only look at it from a materialistic standpoint, only thinking about resources, production and economy while disregarding the spiritual.

New french etat In regards to the fundamental laws of the state, do not recognize the NationStates categorization of this ambassador state OR J o J. J o J is a moralistic/limited democracy, and nothing else, as described in the fact books. Do not recognize the policies on J o J, some of them are incorrect or I can’t get rid of them because issues are a pain to deal with, I just use issues for the civil rights, political freedoms, and economy stats, as well as cards.

I wouldn't say that is very accurate of Communism. The workers are not really in control, the Party is. They just become the elite, ruling class with everyone else worker slaves, who exist to turn production and wait for redistribution for reward. often that "reward" is the very basics for survival at best. That is why Capitalism and Communism are promoted by the same group of people. Both just seek to turn the population into worker drones at the benefit of a few elites. Those elites are the same in both systems, just different names for them.

What makes a nation a nation? Isn't a nation a group of people bound together by language, blood , culture and religion. If you strip all of those things from the nation what are you left with but a society full of worker drones.

Well thats the "dictatorship of the proletariat" how accurate that Term is up for debate, as there are many currents and branches of communism (all equally disgusting)

Ave, everyone.

In my opinion, it would be better if we established a separate region (similar to Imperial Entertainment Hub) to act as a focused place for RP and such. There are those here, like myself, who do not participate in RP and would like to use the RMB for normal/intellectual discussion, and for people like us a lot of RP-related chatter disrupts the flow of the conversations and makes it more difficult to get good chains going, likewise, our discussion of non-RP matters would negatively affect the efforts of those of our comrades and friends who are participating in RP.

It goes without saying that both RP and regular discussion is good for the health of the region, but to have the best optimal outcome would require something that allows both these aspects to be focused on without distraction(s) or interruption(s). At least, that is how I would see it.

Now we ought to focus on getting the syndicates and corporative council established, they were key in the TIC and as an heir to its legacy, the Amanecer would do well to follow suit.

The workers owned the means of production through the State and the Party, at least, in the theory & Soviet Propaganda. In reality the party -the elite-controlled everything, and within the party it was the nomenclatura that ruled the party. Everyone outside was subject to, not an active factor in or for. Into the later decades of the Cold War the Russian Soviet State had (If I recall correctly) a population around 160 million, a large number yes, of which the communist party membership was around ~10 million, and of this, the upper-party (Nomenclatura) is estimated at around ~3 million. For supposedly a very egalitarian system it was everything but. Entry into the party was controlled, and power in the soviet-state affiliated with amassing favors and patron-relationships, blackmail, bribery for those with the wealth to do so. Power was certainly not an equally accessible concept.

OF course, as the original goal and cause was the abolishment of the regime of control and the creation of the collectivist communist society, some people were correct in questioning the state of affairs of statism. In the Brezhnev era, the political catchphrase "real socialism" was coined and directly referred to the soviet-style economic planning prevalent in the eastern bloc. From the 1960's some of the member countries (Poland, Hungary, DDR, Yugoslavia, etc.) made the argument that their socialism represented what was feasible and realistic in accordance with the industrial capacity and level of production they had, even if it did not abide or follow through closely with the Marxist conception of socialism.

The term got negative connotations over time and was seen as dishonest, it was used in a sarcastic tone.

It also made itself the center of jokes. (From wikipedia)

"Do you know the boundary between real socialism and communism?"
> "The border runs along the Kremlin's wall" [hinting that only rulers of the Soviet Union live in the bright communist future promised by Karl Marx].

"What is real socialism?"

> "This is when you cannot yet get everything without money, but you already cannot buy anything for your money" [hinting at the long lines and frequent shortages of consumer goods in the Soviet stores].

Gran argreriana

January 9th, 1920
airfield near the town of Grisnalda

Jose Wuhan sits back in is Huracan fighter, checking the gauges as the mechanic spins the propellor of his bright blue fighter plane, it catching on the first turn, and Slowly increases the throttle on his fighter The blocks on the wheels being removed as he a slowly gains speed and rolls down the runway then slowly pulls back on the stick, sliding gracefully into the sky. he and his squadron form up into formation and gain altitude, high enough that rifle bullets would be ineffective but low enough to still see clearly the enemy forces. The 2 forces were arrayed in trenches across from each other just like in the 1st gagium war. They were locked in a bloody Fighting unable beat each other or force the other from the field. They then crossed over to the enemy lines and immediately began radioing enemy positions and forces. They did this for some time until they were running low on fuel. Then, and only with some reluctance, did they begin returning to their own lines. Until out of the blue came 3 enemy fighter planes. Jose could see they were all very modern mono fighters, the absolute creme de la creme of the air forces of the world. He immediatly began diving, trading altitude for speed, but the enemy planes were too fast, their pilots too good, and one enemy plane was on his tail in a flash. the other two were dogfighting his 4 other flight mates. He tried every trick he could think of, when luck struck him, a single enemy fighter passed infront of him, it passed so close he could see the enemy fighter pilot look up at him in sheer fright as he pushed as hard as he could onto the trigger of his dual type 10 machinegun mount, bullets spraying the enemy mono, hitting the pilot hard, spilling his blood all over the open cockpit, and causing the plane to spin violently out of control, crashing just behind friendly lines, mostly intact. that is when his luck abruptly ran out, and he heard the enemy plane behind him's guns roar, and he began saying a Hail Mary, however, this was the last thing through his mind before his brains, bits of glass. blood, and his rosary was splattered all over his wind shield. his plane lit with fire, span, and crashed harshly into the open space between the trenches, leaving only a funeral pyre.

That same time
Argrerian trenches near Grisnalda

Miguel looked up in wonder, as did both trenches, and watched as a friendly biplane fought 2 Gagium monoplanes, and watched with glee as the enemy plane suddenly stopped resisting and crashed right behind them. Rifle fire had stopped on both sides as they watched the intense spectacle, noone here had seen a fighter duel before, and a loud cheer came up from the Argrerian lines as the enemy monoplane crashed down. Then he watched in horror as the friendly plane caught fire and crashed between the lines. A cheer came from the enemy lines at this point, and the wounded Argrerian planes limped home, the Gagium planes doing the same. Rifle and machinegun fire immediatly resumed, with Miguel diving back in the trench for cover, the man next to him not being so lucky, his head looking more like a smashed melon after a machinegun tore him to ribbons. They had been in this trench for a few days now. Miguel had heard stories from his corporal about the first Gagium war, snd how they had bern in trenches for years at a time. He wondered in silent horror if this would last for years as the last war had. However, a thought of genius came to him, if the enemy monoplane was still in one piece, then it could be captured, if it was captured, it could be copied. Miguel light a cigarette and began smoking it as artillery shells lsnded here and there. He knew a Gagium assualt was coming, just not when. He aimed his rifle through the trench slit as he heard a far off whistle, and pulled the trigger, hitting an enemy officer standing up with his binoculors.

Correct, it is not. It is however reserved for that if and when RP gets going. We'd need an RP Manager for that, however, and since Arentium CTE:d no-one has voiced interest thus far.

Good luck in N-Day to those who are participating! Perhaps we will meet on the battle field if the inter regional faction idea proposed in the Fifth Empire RMB is fully enacted. Either way, J o J will be hunting down and obliterating as many leftists and other enemies of the state as possible in revenge for our fallen comrades and regions who have been lost to moderators or raiders.

If anybody is interested you can join J o J's faction here. We have already smashed several bolshevik nuisances and we have over 220 score, placing us high on the leaderboards. Within the first hour or so we held number 7 - 8 until the big factions picked up steam.

Unfortunately, those nations who have remained inactive in the J o Jian Nuclear Pact have been wiped out. J o J removed its puppets before going inactive, which kept the score in the positives. It went from around 1,000 to 265 overnight. However, my puppets were re-deployed this morning to bring the score up to 423. If it were not for inactive nations being nuked, The J o Jian Nuclear Program would be ranked 9th in the world. We are currently ranked 12th in the world.

Krich aerd

However, this faction will no longer be open to outside members so that the faction can operate at full effectiveness. It will from now on be only my puppets or IRL colleagues, in order to move all puppets in and out as necessary to prevent coordinated attacks from the top 10 factions.
