On January of 2021, enraged at the state of politics in the United States and of the slow pace of progress in even the bluest states, and reacting to the alt-right movement rising in pockets throughout the nation and taking power, Latino revolutionaries in and around San Diego drove out U.S. forces and declared themselves independent, leading a platform of progressive and humanistic social change, minority empowerment, and economic equity. They took full control of the Greater San Diego area and established a provisional government on May 3rd. As of May 4th, their leader Alejandro de la Rosa is backing a similar movement in Tijuana in hopes of joining forces and uniting to become one big super-city transcending the national border, with the ultimate goal of taking the entire West Coast and becoming a beacon of hope and progress for people around the world, seeking to provide a better life for immigrants and minorities from around the world no matter the cost. However, after achieving independence, other leaders within the developing government are preventing him from creating an ideological dictatorship and have kept the government democratic, and despite pushes from de la Rosa himself, have allowed all but the staunchest of conservatives to remain if they wished, refusing to silence dissenting opinions. Both the government and de la Rosa are reaching out to like-minded nations to support each other and push the movement forward and ensure stability and growth within Mexicalia itself, in the name of making the world a better place.

We started in the north east of the Indian subcontinent as a monarchy much like the irl Kamarupa (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kamarupa) and Ahom kingdoms (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ahom_kingdom). The kings and queens from the plains never conquered us. Slowly, we subsumed what is Bhutan, Nepal, Arakan, and conquered the northern plains and the Andaman-Nicobar islands.

The British came but could never conquer. So they colonised other kingdoms and chiefdoms in the west of the subcontinent instead (Sindh, Gujarat, Rajputana, and Malwa). Meanwhile, the Portuguese conquered Maratha and Konkan. While the French conquered the south of the subcontinent and Sri Lanka (the Dutch lost Lanka). These colonial territories would become independent later.

The need to keep the colonisers away strengthened the sovereignty of Kaamapoori. We grew further with the merger of the Sikh Empire (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sikh_Empire). The Kaamapoori monarchy by the end attempted at transforming into a constitutional monarchy but was soon overthrown by the people for its widespread neglect and corruption.

As a democratic socialist republic, Kaamapoori has helped Tibet retain its independence and has fought with the people of Jammu-Ladakh-Kashmir to overthrow their monarchy.
