What? No, I -- um -- that is, er . . . Skye squinched her eyes shut in embarrassment. Aren't you uh . . . pretty scared?

Rose sighed, shaking her head slightly.
"Of the really big dragons, who would not be scared? Of you, no I am not. I'm sorry for being scared - but when faced with someone who can kill you as easily as they breathe, it's a bit nerve wracking."

That was her explanation, and one that did make sense. She wasn't the biggest, strongest, best looking or most popular, so she was used to dealing with folks more powerful than her. But dragons were on a whole new level
