RP: General Election of 2149

Today, the Schwypian General Election for parliament was held. The incumbent United Moderates Party led by Prime Minister Alois Hethwyr fought hard to preserve their title and was ultimately successful, though only by a few crucial seats. Where once the UMP held the clear majority, they now only hold a slight majority and have the potential to be outvoted should major coalitions form. The party which won the second most seats, thus becoming the Opposition, was the Britain Progressive Party, taking the position from the Conservative Party. Britain Progressive Keir Blythe now stands as the Leader of the Opposition and the Prime Minister's main rival. This election means PM Hethwyr will serve for another 5 years, bringing his total number of years served come the next election in 2154 to 15.
