HRF have managed to secure a majority in the parliament, defeating both NDC and UDA. It is the first time that a Non Congress or Non-BJP or affiliated party has come to power since Independence.

The Election Commission of India reported a turnout of 86% or 1,080,160,000+ eligible people turned up to vote, making this the highest turnout ever reported in India and the largest democratic election in human history.

Political Analysts say that it was due to the current political crisis that more people turned up to vote, feeling that it would help bring stability in politics back. HRF's victory is mainly attributed to its diverse proposed cabinet which include almost all communities of India, its overall new policies which focus on nation building, its much younger candidates and overall desire for change in politics after the Election Bond scandals.

Zahir Haider Khan has become the 15th Prime Minister of India,l. He took the oath of allegiance in presence of the President and the public at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium. He is the first Prime Minister of Kashmiri origin and the first Muslim to become the Prime Minister.

Z.H Khan shortly addressed the crowd at the stadium and also the nation as a whole.

“Today the people of India have shown their responsibility by participating in the election in record numbers, today is not only a win for me but for all of India. This morning will mark the start of a fresh chapter in our history. We all will walk together to the future and endure the same challenges and overcome them as one nation. I will admit, I am becoming the Prime Minister when tensions have deteriorated community relations, we are at the most divided times since independence, but this will not scare us, we the people of India are brave and will face off the challenges head on with honesty and courage. I hope this message reaches every soul in this country and decides to turn a new leaf of a prosperous, happy and honest life.”
