That pun was beautiful.

Did you hear about the time a chicken drumstick and a ham entered a bar and ordered a beer? The bartender said they didn't serve food there.

Did you hear about the man who flew from Ireland to Prince Edward Island?................Boy were his arms tired! (I can see the eye rolls)

If a plane crashes in the middle of the Atlantic where do you bury the survivors? (Just think a moment before you answer this one).

Two men walked into a bar, the third one ducked.

A man walked into the bar to escape the cold winter weather and went into the corner. Why you ask? Because it was 90 degrees.

I'm reading a book about anti gravity! It's impossible to put down!

When a cow is in a pasture it is outstanding in it's field.

I was upset when I bought some velcro the other day. It was a total ripoff!

What sound does an airplane makes when it bounces? Boeing Boeing Boeing.

When it comes to these puns they are like overgrown trees. You got to get to the root of the problem before they branch out and plant seeds for more puns. I'll leaf it at that and knock on wood I don't need to make more puns for a while.

Edit: I just saw the post above mine and I got to say it makes me sad when people believe only a certain race can experience racism. I've seen people of many races experience racism and I've personally been bullied because of my race (which even now it sounds weird to me saying it as a white person so I see your point. Some people can assume it doesn't happen to certain people and even I can be biased like that).

Dead on. It's a pitiful and unproductive state to be in. Rent seeking essentially.

David Dorn, a retired black police captain was murdered when trying to stop looting. Where is the protests for him? Why is there practically no media attention for this tragedy?

If anyone has any questions about Opus Dei I'll do my best to answer them here or through telegram.

I LOVE Opus Dei.

I was reflecting for a while on the fact that we cannot really nourish ourselves physically. It's not like we can quench our own thirst. Only the water we drink can do that. But we cooperate with helping the water quench our thirst by choosing the drink it. Same think with food except that you eat food. This is also the case with our souls. We cannot nourish our own souls. We need God to nourish our souls. We can choose to cooperate with God just as we can choose to drink water. We need God to live even physically and in His love for us all He gives us that. In the Mass when we receive Our Blessed Lord in the Eucharist we are be nourish spiritually. It's interesting because I heard that bread and wine were the things that were the staple of the Jewish diet back in Jesus' time. So too is Jesus what that nourishes us spiritually and gives us life.

I saw some birds (I like watching birds) in a field of grass after it had stormed. It had just rained heavily and it was thundering a little bit before the storm ended. These birds came about from the trees and started gathering at the field, feasting upon the worms that had come up from the soil. Others were up high on tree branches or fences letting the sun warm them and dry them up. Just as God provides for those birds after the storm, so too does He provide for us. If we stay faithful to Him He will provide for us. He will nourish us spiritually and our relationship with Him will grow and become stronger.

It's cool how you can connect that fact that generally speaking if you eat healthy and drink water and other healthy drinks, you're going to be healthier and stronger. If you are still starving or dehydrated that's probably something that you need a doctor for. That's where it's interesting because while your doctor knows what medicine you need it is technically the medicine that still is the thing that cures you. Doctors are like friends. They know you well and they usually know what you need to improve on, but it is only through your choice to choose to be with God and let Him help you that you become better.

It would seem Sundiata would be better suited to give a more detailed answer, but Opus Dei is a prelature of the Catholic Church that is all about the universal call to holiness and sanctifying day-to-day life. St. Josemaría Escrivá started it.

Oh Almighty God,
whose great power and eternal wisdom
embraces the universe.
Watch over all policemen and law enforcement officers.
Father in Heaven please give them the strength,
courage and perseverance to endure
The unjust condemnation, danger, and physical abuse
to which they are at times subjected.
We recommend them to your loving care because their duty is dangerous.
Dear God, grant these brave men your almighty protection,
Unite them safely with their families after duty has ended.
Amen.

I'm relieved it's happening. Watching online has its perks but nothing beats being there in person.

I think that the church should explicitly come out against corporal punishment.

According to this article from 2015, Pope Francis is fine with spanking a child so long as dignity is maintained.

Personally my opinion on corporal punishment is the same as capital punishment, that being wherever it is possible to do alternative punishments, then do the alternative punishment.

At the same time I do know that there are certain areas in the world, and different times in history where a prison wasn't secure, if they existed at all.

Of course another thing to add is that is has to be with justice. It cannot be revenge, it must keep the dignity of the human being, and justice and mercy cannot be separated from each other. We forgive and we encourage people to come back to the Lord.

Over all my personal opinion on both capital punishment and corporal punishment is that both shouldn't be done unless you have exhausted every other option. It depends on the situation. It shouldn't be looked at as a good thing though.

One thing to remember is that our Blessed Lord Himself was victim to a state run torture and execution in the most brutal way imaginable.

Edit: in most cases I'd say neither corporal punishment or capital punishment are necessary and so I'd be against it in most cases.

I'd say capital punnishement is never right, the Lord suffered so we would not. Also we don't have the right to take away a life that God created.

Rather than a fine and penalty points and a "conversation" with a plod I'd rather a good kick instead if caught speeding.

Yes, every 12 hours.

Let me know when an opportunity to serve opens up.

If you asked me about this subject a few years ago my opinion would be that capital punishment, as long as it was just, was a great deterrent from crime and prevented criminals from further doing crime. Since then I'd say I've become less supportive of capital punishment. I thought about St. Paul one day after being reminded of him and realized that technically he could've been given capital punishment, after all he killed Christians and murder is an extremely serious crime. It wasn't like prisons were very secure back then if a many existed where he was at all. Yet he wasn't given capital punishment. Was he punished? I'd say going blind isn't exactly fun, so yeah. St. Paul was given an opportunity to see Jesus, to turn away from sin and death, and go on the path to Holiness.

Now a days I'd say I lean a lot more to your view on capital punishment however I do think there are extremely rare cases where it may sadly be needed. It is during those times that I feel sad. It's a tragedy whenever a person is robbed of the opportunity to to see Jesus. We can see beautiful conversion stories in king David, St. Paul, St. Moses the black, etc. It is the conversion of people from sin into a life of Holiness that we should want just as the Lord wants it. We are all sinners who without God, merit hell. It is through God's mercy that we are saved.

One may object that when a criminal commits a crime they are causing suffering, if not themselves robbing an opportunity to see Jesus. Yet this is the case for king David, St. Paul, St. Moses the black, and probably other Saints. It is more optimal to convert criminals to a Holy life rather than convict them to capital punishment. This doesn't mean these people (the saints I listed) were not punished at all but rather that they were allowed to change their way of life for the better.

The new video game "The Last of Us Part II" which is getting 10/10 reviews from video game critics features a scene in which a "Transsexual" buff man-lady named Abby gets vulgarly sodomized from behind by another man.
You read that right it's not a joke or an exaggeration, this is in a game that will most likely sell tens of millions of copies.

But hey nobody stand against this gay agenda because we got more important things to do like virtue signaling to the godless, be liberal, not saving people by telling them the truth that homosexuality is a sin and "save the environment" while these degenerate de facto satanists destroy the souls of our young people.

Video games are no longer just toys they are now media just like any other media and are being used as a propaganda tool for satanists, when are we as Christian Catholics going to stand up for our values?
We have God on our side but we keep bowing down to these godless worldly people and for what? Did Jesus tell us to hide in our churches and preach to the choir or did he tell us to take our cross, tell the truth and suffer for our righteousness? Mark 2:17 "And when Jesus heard it, he said to them, “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. I came not to call the righteous, but sinners.”" Did he say to listen to the majority or did he say the gates to heaven are narrow and only few will enter?
