Solar farm completed in Jujuy Province

Representatives from the companies involved in its construction, joined by chiefs from local native communities, inaugurated today the Santa Catalina solar farm, in the homonymous rural locality.

The plant - with a nameplate capacity of 600 MW - will begin operating normally in approximately one month. With the addition of Santa Catalina, Argentina will have renewable energy generation sources accounting for 33% of the national electricity grid.

"Argentina stands with Brazil", says Chancellery

After taking notice of the recent affair between Brazil and Venezuela, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs released a formal statement emphasizing "the unwavering commitment of the Argentine Republic with the Federative Republic of Brazil".

"We encourage the Venezuelan authorities to cease with their escalatory actions and rhetoric, particularly those affecting the livelihoods of millions of innocent civilians in the Roraima State.
Nonetheless, Argentina will remain vigilant and stand ready to fulfill its obligations as outlined in the GSA and Foz do Iguaçú Treaties.
Democracy and Peace are core valuea that will be upheld by the Brazilian-Argentine friendship across all of South America."

Argentina to host Russia-Japan summit

Following the recent rejection, at the UAN General Assembly, of a resolution that seeked to declare the 1905 Treaty of Portsmouth as void and which called for a "mutually acceptable solution" to what the Russian Government perceives, among other words, as a "territorial dispute" with neighboring Japan, the aforementioned countries have agreed to meet in hopes of difussing tensions and potentially reaching a preliminary settlement over the final status of Sakhalin/Karafuto and Kuril/Chishima archipelagoes.

The Russian and Japanese Foreign Affairs Ministers, Vitaly Shvytkin and Hiroga Soku, will be meeting at the Llao Llao Hotel, in San Carlos de Bariloche.
Increased police and military presence are currently deploying in and around the city, as well as the adjacent national park, in anticipation of this "Bariloche Summit", which will be mediated by the Argentine Minister Daniela Paz.

Opening Remarks by Russian Foreign Affairs Minister Vitaly Shvytkin at the Bariloche Summit
    18 May 2024, Saturday

Honorable Minister Daniela Paz, esteemed delegates, ladies and gentlemen,

It is both a privilege and a responsibility to stand before you today as we embark on this significant dialogue at the Bariloche Summit. On behalf of the Russian Federation, I extend our deepest gratitude to Minister Daniela Paz and the Argentinian authorities for their exemplary efforts in organising this summit. Your commitment to ensuring peace through diplomatic processes is a testament to the principles of international cooperation and mutual respect.

We gather here today with the shared hope of addressing and resolving the longstanding territorial issues concerning Sakhalin and the Kurill archipelagoes. The recent failure of the UAN General Assembly to make any progress on the dispute has only allowed the situation to worsen and so the proactive action taken by Argentina is of utmost importance.

The Russian Federation is committed to seeking a fair and just resolution. The status of Sakhalin is of profound historical and cultural significance to Russia, and it is imperative that any agreement recognises this. We propose the drafting of a new treaty to replace the outdated Treaty of Portsmouth, which no longer serves the interests of our nations or the broader international community.

Our goals for this summit are clear:

  1. Drafting a New Treaty: We seek to establish a framework that replaces the Treaty of Portsmouth with a more equitable and modern agreement. This treaty should reflect the current geopolitical landscape and the legitimate interests of both Russia and Japan.

  2. Security Guarantees: To prevent potential confrontations and ensure regional stability, we advocate for robust security guarantees. These guarantees must include mechanisms for conflict prevention and resolution, ensuring that peace and stability are maintained.

  3. Economic and Cultural Cooperation: In addition to resolving territorial disputes, we must explore avenues for economic and cultural cooperation that can benefit both our nations and contribute to regional prosperity.

However, let me be unequivocal: should this summit fail to reach any form of agreement, the Russian Federation is prepared to take decisive action. The Vozhd of All-Russians, Nadezhda Zykina, will officially sign the bill withdrawing from the Treaty of Portsmouth. This will reaffirm Russia's sovereign authority over Sakhalin, and we will use all necessary force to ensure the integrity and sovereignty of our territorial borders..

We stand at a pivotal moment. The outcomes of this summit have the potential to reshape the future of our bilateral relations and contribute to the broader peace and stability of our region. It is my sincere hope that through constructive dialogue, mutual understanding, and respect, we can pave the way for a lasting and peaceful resolution.

Thank you

SHAHANSHAH ARDASHIR VI MAKES A VISIT TO THE ETCHMIADZIN CATHEDRAL

The Etchmiadzin Cathedral is the headquarters of the Armenian Apostolic Church, the oldest Christian church in the world. As part of a visit to help bridge solidarity with the Armenian people and the Christian community of Iran, His Majesty, Shahanshah Ardashir VI visited the Cathedral and was greeted by Karekin II, the Catholicos of All Armenians, and of the Church of the East. At the oldest cathedral in the world, the Shahanshah had this to say:

"The Armenian Apostolic is one of the oldest Christian churches in the world. Iran is truly blessed by the great nature, heritage, and influence this institution brings to the nation. However, while Iran celebrates the Armenian Apostolic Church today, the Armenian people, and indeed Christians as a whole, have historically suffered persecution under the original iteration of the House of Sasan and later Turkic rulers. The Turkic rulers were especially brutal to Christians, violating the very principle of tolerance that Iran strives to accomplish to its diverse religious communities. On behalf of my ancestors and forefathers of the House of Sasan, I sincerely apologize with the highest of levels to the Christians of Iran for the truly barbaric actions commited by the Iranian royal family. As long as the House of Sasan is alive, there shall be no more barbarism against Christians like those that have happened in the past."

With this, Karekin II responded to the Shahanshah's statement with this message:

"The faithful Christians of Iran have indeed, as His Majesty has spoke to them on this occassion, been persecuted under the Sasanians for many centuries. I do agree with His Majesty that the House of Sasan had committed unspeakable atrocities against our proud communities for many centuries. However, those were done many hundreds of hundreds of years ago. And it was not just the Sasanians who oppressed the Christians of Iran.

The Seljuks, Mongols, Timurids, they were extremely horrible, even worse in some aspects, to the Sasanian rule. Upon the ascension of Khosrow VII, however, Christians, for the first time ever, were openly accepted by the people of Iran, oppressed under the same banner for centuries, and not only were permitted to worship, but were even helped by non-believers in trying times. Our holy language under the new Sasanian house was restored, even going so far as to temporarily ban the Persianization of them. Our churches were restored to great beauty, and our people blossomed under this new and changed Iran.

It is clear to see that for any Christian, Iran is not just tolerant of our faith, but welcoming to all. This is extremely rare, for a nation composed so much of members of another faith to welcome others with open arms." He beckons to Patriarch Eliya XV of the Church of the East - He walks to the lectern.

Eliya: "On behalf of all the Christians of Iran, our community truly forgives the House of Sasan for the many sins committed against our ancestors. Iran is truly a safe haven for Christians. May God bless Iran with soil more fertile than the Euphrates for a thousand years!"

XXV CONGRESS OF VOZROZHDENYE: CELEBRATING 25 YEARS OF REVIVALISM

Vozhd of All-Russians and Leader of Vozrozhdenye Nadezhda Zykina

.

The XXV Congress of Vozrozhdenye, or "Revival," took place today in Moscow, drawing thousands of dedicated supporters and marking a significant milestone in the journey of Russia under the visionary leadership of Vozhd Nadezhda Zykina. The party, which was founded in 1999 has been the sole political force in the country since 2004, celebrated its achievements and laid out plans for the future.

Vozrozhdenye was founded upon the principles of "Revivalism", a philosophy thought up by Zykina which includes policies such as unique Russian identity, with it being neither European nor Asian but a unique civilization. It also completely rejects western liberalism and globalism while favouring traditionalism, socialism, nationalism, and a strong central government. It is often described as a new path for the 21st century replacing the outdated systems of the previous century such as communism, fascism and liberalism.

Under Zykina's leadership, Vozrozhdenye has implemented sweeping reforms aimed at revitalising Russia's economy, bolstering its defense capabilities, and restoring its cultural heritage. The party's platform is built on the principles of strong central governance, national sovereignty, and cultural revival, rejecting the liberal policies that once threatened to dismantle the fabric of Russian society.

Economic revitalisation has been a cornerstone of Vozrozhdenye's success. The party has focused on self-sufficiency, reducing reliance on Western economies, and investing heavily in domestic industries. This approach has led to significant growth in sectors such as energy, technology, and agriculture, positioning Russia as a formidable player on the global economic stage.

Socially, the party has championed traditional values, emphasising the importance of family, community, and national pride. Education reforms have reintroduced a curriculum steeped in Russian history and culture, fostering a generation that is deeply connected to its heritage. Additionally, healthcare and social services have been expanded, ensuring a robust safety net for all citizens.

.

In her address to the congress, the Vozhd of All-Russians, Nadezhda Zykina, delivered a fiery and impassioned speech, highlighting the transformation of Russia under the principles of Revivalism, a doctrine she crafted to restore the nation's greatness. "We have risen from the ashes of liberal chaos and humiliation," Zykina proclaimed, "to reclaim our rightful place as a superpower on the global stage."

Zykina recounted the tumultuous years of the late 20th century, marked by the fall of the Soviet Union and the subsequent era of instability. "Under Gorbachev and Yeltsin, our nation was plunged into a state of despair. Liberalism brought nothing but poverty, crime, and moral decay. It is Revivalism that has pulled us back from the brink," she asserted.

The Vozhd emphasised the core tenets of Revivalism, which have guided Russia's resurgence. "We stand for a unique civilization, distinct from both East and West, grounded in our traditional and cultural values. Revivalism rejects the homogenising forces of Western liberalism that seek to destroy national identities and erode our sovereignty," Zykina declared.

Highlighting Russia's success in countering Western influence, Zykina pointed to the current state of Western societies. Surrounded by Friends?

The prominent frontrunner for the presidential election, former Bench Elder Korneliusz Duda of the Peace and Unity Party, has promised to cut military funding in half due to “being surrounded by friends.” While promising to cut the military budget in half, he said he would also retire many of the oldest pieces of kit in the inventory to save money on storage. He promised to disband all para-military militias, having their weapons sold or melted down and recycled. He said that the money saved would go to employing Slavicans who will build the infrastructure of the future.

Irrigation Project Annoying Neighbor?

Reports from Infiny suggest that the large scale irrigation project to help scale up production of cotton and tobacco maybe hurting farmers on the other side of the border. While lake levels at Malawi Lake seem to be stable at the moment, the nation of Slavic Rhodesia is pulling some ten to fifteen cubic kilometers of water of the lake in the first year of mass irrigation. The plan was initially to pull some twenty cubic kilometers of water off of Lake Malawi to irrigate cotton and tobacco with the help of government subsidies to help in the upkeep of the infrastructure. There’s murmurs that the large scale infrastructure projects are having an outsized impact on the farmers in Infiny. Talks between the nations to preserve the waters of Lake Malawi have yet to take place; however, if farmers to the north continue to feel an outsized impact from Slavican agriculture practices, policies will have to change to preserve the lands and waters of the area.

Government Announces Cessation of Armor Programs

While the government is working cooperatively with both India (Indhiya) and South Africa (Union of Zuid Afrika) on improving equipment quality and military preparedness, Zygmunt stated that the Arjun and Elephant tank programs will be the last big budget military programs for the foreseeable future. The acquisitions in aircraft, which include the purchases of twenty four SA 315B Lama/BRA LTD. Lancer and thirty two DENEL Rooivalk helicopters will be the last aircraft programs. To save money, all outdated aircraft, artillery and tanks will be liquidated and recycled. Buildings which used to hold military equipment will be sold to private parties to put money back into the government’s coffers. Given a growing economy, being surrounded by friends and relative peace in the region, the government no longer feels the need to spend four percent of GDP on the military. Alas, Zygmunt said he would only cut the military up to one percent.

Ivone Köppen makes Z-POP solo debut with new single "Make You Mine," debuting at Number 1

A new force in Z-POP has manifested this week in the form of Ivone Köppen. The German pop star has turned to a career in Z-POP, debuting as a solo artist under JYT Entertainment releasing her first single under the label dubbed "make you mine." Written by Köppen and produced by the CEO of JYT Justin Yankovich Trebelev and famous Z-POP artist John Suvorkin, the song incorporates elements of EDM, Z-POP and American pop music. Released this week, "make you mine" has debuted at the top of the Billboard 100, the Nova-1 (Z-POP's Top 100 tracks) and other music rating boards in different countries with audiences and critics alike praising the song as "three minutes-and-fourty-one-seconds of ear candy" and the subsequently released music video, with many calling her a "Gen Z Megan Fox." Critics pointed out various elements of the video and nuances of the song's musicality that are strongly evident of Köppen "Z-POP transformation" that she underwent as part of a major career move to become a North America-based pop artist.

Köppen came out last night to a performance debut of her song on YBN's famous music show novaVolna (ноvаVолна/New Wave). Her performance on novaVolna received widespread acclaim from audiences and critics alike, with Köppen receiving a rare standing ovation from the audience after the conclusion of her performance. Following up on her debut, co-producer of the single and current Presidential Candidate John Suvorkin praised her debut, posting on twitter: "An exceptionally gifted young woman!" Despite criticism coming from conservatives on twitter, such as Senator Christopher Li coming out onto Zeleniya-1's "State of the Union" to blast the "underlying sexual tones" of the song and music video as "liberal degeneracy," Ivone Köppen's debut single and current status in Z-POP has been met with overwhelming positivity.

In addition to debuting at the top of various music charts, "make you mine" also became a resounding social media success, having been trending on platforms such as Twitter, Instagram and VK and the song and it's remixes subsequently being used as a popular sound on TikTok.

Thank you

Medical Student Quota Bill Revoked

With protests raging on with no end in sight, a decision has been made by His Majesty, King Hakkun, to revoke the bill from law that increased the quotas needed to be reached for medical student enrollment. This is the first time this kind of action has been taken by King Hakkun, but it is not the first time it has been done by a Saejoseonese monarch. It has also been stated that those who have had their licenses suspended or revoked in recent weeks may apply again for their medical license. No medical licenses will be restored immediately as medical professionals will be required to go through the proper channels to reinstate their practices.

His Majesty, King Hakkun, along with Prime Minister Sagong, urge protesters to clear within the next week or risk facing serious consequences that may result in imprisonment for up to ten years. It has been stated by Prime Minister Sagong that the imprisonment will have no connection with the nature of the protest, but is simply a result of protest control laws that have been passed since the Saejoseonese War. Both his Majesty, King Hakkun, and Prime Minister Sagong hope that things may return to normal, or as close to normal as possible, with the decisions that have been made.

The Grand Assembly will be reviewing the protest control laws in upcoming sessions, but no comments have been made as to whether or not they will be struck, changed, or left untouched. More on that story as it develops in the coming months.

General Motors Names Hudson’s Detroit as Its New Global Headquarters

General Motors has announced a significant strategic development, revealing plans to relocate its global headquarters to Hudson's Detroit by the year 2025. This move positions General Motors as the cornerstone tenant within Bedrock’s innovative development initiative on the historical premises formerly occupied by the J.L. Hudson Department Store. This transition signifies General Motors' fourth change of headquarters within the city since 1911, underscoring its enduring commitment to Detroit's economic and social landscape.

In a collaborative effort that includes General Motors, Bedrock, the City of Detroit, and Wayne County, a partnership has been established with the objective of meticulously exploring redevelopment prospects for the Renaissance Center's site. This investigation is slated to span the forthcoming year, setting the stage for General Motors' relocation to Hudson’s Detroit.

GM Chair and CEO, Mary Barra, articulated the corporation's enthusiasm about remaining within the heart of Detroit, emphasizing that the new headquarters will be designed to cater to the evolving demands of their workforce. The envisioned facility will feature collaboration spaces for teams, executive offices, and an exhibition area for General Motors' vehicles. Barra also lauded Dan Gilbert and Bedrock for their transformative contributions to downtown Detroit and expressed eagerness for the company to play a pivotal role in the historic Hudson’s project as well as in the visionary redevelopment of the Renaissance Center site and its adjacent riverfront.

The initiative to set up headquarters in Hudson's Detroit marks General Motors' re-establishment on Woodward Avenue, where its initial Detroit headquarters were founded. An initial 15-year, multi-level lease has been secured by General Motors, encompassing the upper office floors of the state-of-the-art building and street-level display areas for General Motors vehicles and community engagements.

Dan Gilbert, Chairman & Founder of Bedrock, commended General Motors’ continuous innovation and mobility advancements, accentuating the company's foundational role in Detroit's narrative and its future legacy at Hudson’s. Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan reflected on General Motors’ centennial presence in the city and its contribution to Detroit’s revitalization, particularly noting the company’s efforts in electric vehicle production at its Factory ZERO plant.

Wayne County Executive Warren C. Evans highlighted the significance of General Motors’ commitment to Detroit and Wayne County, viewing it as a testament to the shared vision for the region's long-term growth and prosperity. The sentiment expressed acknowledges the symbiotic relationship between corporate investment and community development, emphasizing the central role of shared value in economic success.

In summary, General Motors' decision to relocate its global headquarters to Hudson's Detroit not only reaffirms its allegiance to the city but also marks a forward-looking step towards fostering innovation, sustainability, and economic vibrancy within the heart of downtown Detroit. This strategic move is anticipated to catalyze further development and revitalization efforts, benefiting the broader community and reinforcing Detroit's status as a hub for global mobility and innovation.

In 1996, General Motors' acquisition of the Renaissance Center marked a pivotal moment in Detroit's history, serving as a crucial impetus for the city's revitalization and the transformation of the Detroit riverfront. This strategic move by GM was instrumental in the establishment of the GM Plaza, which laid the foundational stone for the Detroit Riverfront Conservancy. This innovative public-private partnership heralded the creation of expansive public access to the Detroit River, a development that was unprecedented at the time.

Since that landmark acquisition, General Motors has steadfastly committed to the enhancement of the Renaissance Center area and the adjacent RiverWalk. These efforts represent a cumulative investment exceeding $1 billion over the span of several decades, underscoring GM's dedication to the socio-economic rejuvenation of Detroit.

One of the initial and most significant investments included a $500 million renovation of the Renaissance Center. This comprehensive renovation was meticulously designed to improve community accessibility to the site. A notable aspect of this renovation was the removal of external concrete barriers that previously restricted access from Jefferson Avenue, symbolically and physically opening up the complex to the city. Interior improvements were also a focal point, aimed at facilitating easier navigation within the complex. This included the introduction of a central glass circulation ring and the Wintergarden, a particularly inviting space that offers visitors and employees alike the opportunity to enjoy sweeping panoramic views of the Detroit River.

In a significant stride towards modernization and sustainability, General Motors announced in November 2020 an investment of $2.2 billion in retooling and upgrading Factory ZERO (formerly known as the Detroit-Hamtramck Assembly Center). This strategic investment is dedicated to the production of a range of Ultium-powered electric vehicles (EVs), including the GMC HUMMER EV Pickup and SUV, the Chevrolet Silverado EV WT, and the forthcoming Silverado EV RST, the GMC Sierra Denali EV, and the Cadillac Escalade IQ. Originally established in 1985 and having produced over 3 million vehicles, today, the plant stands as one of the most advanced automotive facilities in the United States, employing nearly 4,000 individuals.

General Motors has also demonstrated an unwavering commitment to the broader Detroit community through the awarding of more than $117 million in grants over the past decade to a variety of Detroit-based nonprofit programs. These grants are a testament to GM's dedication to fostering community engagement and making a tangible impact in the city. Focus areas for these grants include education, workforce development, and neighborhood revitalization efforts, all of which are crucial for the sustainable development of Detroit.

Reflecting on GM's historical presence in Detroit, it is noteworthy that the company's original domicile was located at 127-129 Woodward Avenue, where it operated from 1911 to 1923. Subsequently, GM transitioned to the Albert Kahn-designed General Motors Building at 3044 West Grand Boulevard in 1923, where it remained for several decades before eventually making the transformative purchase of the Renaissance Center in 1996.

The financial terms of the transaction between General Motors and Bedrock have not been publicly disclosed, underscoring the private nature of the agreement. Nevertheless, the strategic investments and community-oriented initiatives undertaken by General Motors since acquiring the Renaissance Center unequivocally demonstrate the corporation's enduring commitment to the revitalization and prosperity of Detroit.
