OOC: EXPO II Announcement

EXPO II: New York has been scheduled to take place the week of March 11 through March 15. Each day will feature a different set of events, which the list can be found on the EXPO II page on the Official Geopolity Wiki. If you are not listed as a participant and are wanting to participate, please DM me on Discord, or TG me on here. For those who wonder how placements are going to be chosen, each name is put into a randomizer and I go down the list from last place to first place. I would ask for a minimum of ten nations to participate, but more can join in once ten is reached.

EXPO III City Announcement

The city for EXPO III will be chosen the last IRL day of the EXPO II RP. Currently, Krakiv is the placeholder city and will be used if no other city has been presented. The cities that will not be chosen until EXPO XI are the following:

Vienna
New York City

If you wish to have a city be in the running for hosting EXPO III, please DM me on Discord or TG me on here. Before the city is announced, it will randomly be chosen. If you are choosing a city, keep in mind that is must be a large city (no smaller than 400,000 population), and that not all races will take place in the city, but all over your nation. The city that is presented/chosen is just a central hub for the event. Thank you for your cooperation and good racing!

IIHF World Cup Championship Update

"Hello ladies and Gentlemen, I'm John Carter with my Russoslav College, Josef Markov and we're at IIHF HQ here in St.Andrewsburg Russoslava with updates, we're 15 days into the tournament and So far 1 Team has advanced to the Championship Series and that team is Team USA (Imperial Eagle) who has swept Team Orange-bourgogne in 3 games. The US style didn't allow for Team Orange-Bourgogne's offense and Defense to Catch their breath. Any rush that Orange-Bourgogne's Team tried the hard-hitting defense shut them down." Carter says as the broadcast starts.

"Yes, Team USA's had a hard-hitting defense that made sure that their offense can focus on offense. Their fast-paced offense outpaced Team Orange-Bourgogne's Defense. Ensuring a clean sweep of the series." Markov adds.

"Not to mention that the U.S Goalie, Michael Penobscot got a shut out in all three games. We thought that the very accurate play of Orange-Bourgogne would give him trouble but he didn't face many shot thanks to his defense and so the few shots he face he stopped." Carter remarked.

"Now let us look at the Series Between Team Russoslava and Team Furstia. As predicted the series has been very physical and has had many penalty minutes. Currently Team Russoslava leads the Series 2-1 and will play in Furstia for game 4." Markov states.

"We see these 2 teams throw some hard checks and so it's no surprise that tension exploded at the end of game 3 where a massive bench-clearing brawl ensued, the IIHL stated that it didn't plan on suspending any players but both teams were fined for the incident. However, what I, as an old school hockey player myself enjoyed seeing, is Goaltender Mikhail Slavinovski and Felipe Dambazau dropped the gloves and go at it. Slavinski at 6'7, going against Dambazau at 6'3. Both of them got good shots in on the other but I have to give that win to Slavinski for taking Dambazau to the ice first." Carter adds.

"As you said, the IIHL wouldn't suspend players but instead fined the teams. I believe this series will go to Game 5 and it's going to be a very explosive series." Markov states.

"Anyway, that's the end of our broadcast and so, myself and my good friend Josef Markov wish you hockey fans goodnight from St.Andrewsberg," Carter says as the broadcast ends.

The semifinals of the international ice hockey tournament still have the Furstian team competing against Russoslava for the remaining spot in the Final Series, against the USA Team. Our nation's team is currently 2-1 down and TVEF has interviewed an important member of the squad, Goaltender Felipe Dambazau:

What is your current impression on the team's performance so far?

Dambazau: "We are sure of what we want and every game we struggle and give our best to achieve it. Each of the guys knows that they have what it takes to make it true and we've shown that every match.
It's not easy at all, but we'll fight 'til the end. I'm proud and I know the rest of the team is as well."

What can you say about the rival team in this semifinal series?

Dambazau: "Everyone knows that Russoslava has a very talented team when it comes to this sport. Tough nut to crack, definitely, but they're not invincible and you can see it on the scoreboard. When you reach these stages of the tournament you find this sort of teams with very physical and aggressive styles of play."

Any comments about the recent brawls between two teams?

Dambazau: *smiles* "I mean... haha... both teams want to reach the final series and raise the trophy. We're giving all we've got just like they are and you just don't wish to lose after fighting for so long. They know that as well. It's the passion of this game that overwhelms you and you just can't control it. You find yourself in midst of an adrenaline rush and make rash decisions in that moment.
But the guys and I know that all those things just stay in the rink once the game is over and each match is a new opportunity to achieve that victory we all want."

The Furstian team is the only African team remaining in the competition. It remains to be seen how this series concludes for the team of our nation.

RBC News: Interview With Team Russoslava Team Captain, Mikhail Slavinovski

"Greetings ladies and gentlemen Welcome to RBC News, I'm Josef Markov here at the Workers' Indoor Arena of Puerto Deseado, Furstia with Goaltender and Captain of Team Russoslava, Mikhail Slavinovski. How are you feeling?" Markov opens as the broadcast starts.

"I'm a little sore and tired. After the game in St.Andrewsburg, we left for here and my team and I are very sore and tired." Mikhail answers.

"So, you currently lead the league in Shut Outs and your heavy favorites to win and head to the finals. What do you have to say about that?" Markov asks.

"I would first like to say that I have great respect of our opponents in Team Furstia. I'm sure that many people figured they wouldn't win just one game against us and I'd been pleasantly surprised. This team plays very well and whether they win or lose the series they should be proud of their play as there are not many nations that can give us a challenge." Mikhail replies.

"What is your thought of Team Furstia's Goaltender Felipe Dambazau?" Markov asked.

"He's an extremely good goaltender. Best I've seen in the Tournament and I've been watching the other games when I can. Team Furstia has a young Goaltender and has a long career ahead of him. Whatever it means to him, I respect him and I'm honored that I've shared the same ice as him." Mikhail Answered.

"What are your thoughts on the brawl at the end of Game three where Team Furstia dealt your team their first loss in the series on Home ice in over time?" Markov asks and Mikhail chuckles.

"First off, they got the better of me in Overtime. I didn't see what started the fight all I know is that one second I'm cursing myself for getting scored on and next things I know the benches are clearing and so, I thought "Why not". I skated and yelled to Dambazau and "Invited" him to drop the Trapper and Blocker and he agreed. Like most fights between goaltenders, your first move is trying to remove the other's mask from his head. I'm pretty sure I got his mask off first, but he did put up a fight. How does the saying go? "He gave me a run for my money". He busted my face pretty good but I did the same. I knew that I wouldn't last for long against a young player like Dambazau, I'm 38 you know. So, I manage to take him to the ice and we skated off the ice." Mikhail answered.

"Is there anything you like to say before we sign off?" Markov asked.

"Yes, I have a great deal of Respect of the Furstian team but that doesn't mean I'll go easy. I'm still determined to raise that trophy." Mikhail stated.

The Bloodwolves watched them walk out. They told the groups that they'll take over the mess since it's in Vashnal. In Vashnalli, Zehybel talked to the rest of the Bloodwolves. "Don't worry, we have the real leader 8n this building. We gave the second-in-command to them. Wolfgang wishes to speak to the leader." he said. They all nodded and finished up the job.

Workers' Indoor Arena of Puerto Deseado, Furstia, Game 4, IIHF World Cup Semi-Finals

"Greetings ladies and gentlemen, I'm John and I'm with Josef Markov and We're reporting live from the Workers' Indoor Arena of Puerto Deseado, Furstia. we're in the final 30 seconds of the third period and the score is 1-1. The shots are a crazy 73 for Team Russoslava and 65 shots for Team Furstia. Mikhail Slavinski, 6'7 38-year-old goaltender who has played for Team Russoslava since its inception and has played in hockey leagues across the world. Now we look at Felipe Dambazau, 6'3, 24 years old, a promising goaltender and is a forerunner in African hockey." Carter says.

"Yes, these two goaltenders are they only reason the game has stayed tied, we saw Alexander Popov, the Top Foward in for Team Russoslava almost scored a few seconds ago and Felipe Damazau made a desperation save that sent the puck into the net ending play. Alexander Popov gave a slow clap and gave a tap on Damazau's pads acknowledging that save and showing his respect." Markov adds.

"we're still waiting for the puck drop just outside Team Furstia's Zone. Nicolás Bakare #10 takes the face off with Alexander Popov #12 his opposite. Mauro Pignarelli #60 to Bakare's right and to Bakare's left is #85 João Gonçalves and his two defensemen #7 Pedro Dantata and #29 Matías Gutiérrez behind him. Meanwhile to Popov's right is #45 Yuri Boleslav and to Popov's left is Abraham Slavinov #85 with defensemen David Karkov #23 and #89 Grigory Portovski behind them and here comes the linesmen and we have puck drop." Carter said.

"Team Furstia wins the face off and #7 Pedro Dantata takes the puck back into the defensive zone, he passes it to #10 Nicolás Bakare and he they go down the ice." Markov calls.

"20 seconds remaining, Bakare passes to Gonçalves as Pignarelli screens Slainovski with Karkov trying to clear the crease. Gonçalves shoots and Slavinovski kicks it away, Bakare recovers the puck and SLAP SHOT." Carter adds.

"Oh, Slavinovski took it to the face and is down, no whistle, the puck is loose and Pignarelli SCORES with no time left on the clock but Slavinski is still down on the ice in a heap" Markov observes.

"Oh God, Slavinovski has taken his mask off and he's cut and cut bad, blood is just pouring from his face. Damazau is skating to the bench and is helping Team Furstia's Team trainer to help Slavinski as Slavinov has skated back to his bench and is bring Team Russoslava's trainer to help Slavinovski and things are getting scary as the linesmen gain control." Carter adds.

"Both team trainers are on the ice now and Slavinovski is now to his knees but he's still bleeding badly," Markov said.

"Okay, Slavinov and Damazau have helped Slavinski to his feet and are helping him back off the ice to the dressing room with the Trainers and Team doctors in tow. We'll try to keep you all informed on Slavinovski's condition but the games are over and it's 2-1 Team Furstia has pushed this to a game 5 but until we know more about Slavinovski's injury he may not be in net for that game which could change the whole dynamic of the game. Anyway, This John Carter and Josef Markov, live from the Workers' Indoor Arena of Puerto Deseado here in Furstia " Carter says as the broadcast ends.

Social-Democratic Landslide Election

As expected, the results of the 2019 Infinian Election indicate a massive victory for the social-democratic party. With 50,1% of the vote, Lena Cyseia is de facto the prime-minister elect of the Imperial Federation. The results are as follows:

Social-Democratic Party : 50,1%
Liberal Party - 13,7%
Monarchist Party - 11,0%
Green Party - 8,5%
Independents (Remnants of the Conservative Party and the Reactionary Party) : 13,3%
Other - 1,7%

The social-democrats have taken control of the Imperial Federation after the largest election swing recorded in modern Infinian history. Although incumbent prime minister Mychayla Hrytsai has congratulated ms. Cyseia on her victory, Ludmil Tanev, the leader of the Conservative Party, has refused to recognize the social-democratic victory, and announced that he will do 'anything within his power to prevent this fraudulent take-over. I am confident that the system of the Imperial Federation will give us justice like during the previous election. These anti-Infinian, fraudulent acts cannot be allowed to stand. Ms. Cyseia is in cahoots with not only the Empress, but also with the crooked nation of Orange-Bourgogne, who repetitively has sought to intervene in our democracy, acting as the definition of a neo-colonial power.'
