I've seen other nations say they no longer have time for NS, and actually I don't understand it. It takes less than a minute every 59 days to log in and keep your nation alive. I can understand why our former delegate, People of phoenix, left; he TG'd me that he'd had a serious health problem. I'm hoping that if I know I'll be laid up permanently, I'll have time to give this nation to someone who will take care of this region.
It’s a pity to see nations CTE…it’s even more heartbreaking when it’s because of irl problems and complications. I think I’ll go back on my adventure throughout NS, hopefully I’ll come back eventually, hm? Farewell and good luck.
I have experienced more than once the situation of a person who devoted incredible amounts of time and effort to NationStates. When real-life demands of great importance fell unexpectedly upon them, they knew that they could no longer meet the demands of the way they used to play, and knew also that the only thing to do was to go cold turkey, because they felt they would be unable to merely cut back no matter how hard they tried. Essentially, NationStates was an addiction they had to walk away from. Ironically, these people were generally the people who were the very heart and soul of the region where they resided and, when they felt they had to quit, the region fell to pieces. NationStates is a great game (for the lucky few who truly appreciate it), but real life, family and job, should always have priority.
To be fair, it's quite understandable why people would rather not spend their limited hours, even just a few minutes, checking up on their NS. As 
Cantors Paradise said, real life does indeed always take priority. For me though, several NS-related events had transpired - TWC being invaded and me losing interest in the TMA - had led me to lose interest on this game. And it's still the same for me. I missed the old rps I've participated in, and I've missed basically writing entire stories in that RP that I know people would have to read to respond. But circumstances changed. I only check on my NS to... idk exactly, keep my years of effort of writing alive cause I'm too lazy to transfer it all to Google Docs or whatever?

Likely just the usual spam.
"Gangstalking", however, I know a little something about. Essentially, it is a self-delusion, that you, the individual, are being stalked by a gang of people everywhere you go for no reason whatsoever. It instills feelings of paranoia and anxiety in yourself. However, the average person is entirely unremarkable to warrant being "gangstalked" by such an organized group of people, so this phenomenon, if it exists in real life and not as an online copypasta, is entirely an attempt at getting attention from others.

It is with deep regret that I announce that I am leaving NationStates for the near future, and resigning from my position as Prime Minister of TNS.
I have played this game on and off throughout the past few years, and I have thoroughly enjoyed the experiences I had both in The Great Storm and The New Storm.
The Hurricane: thank you for creating TGS, the only region I could ever fully call home on NS. I'm sorry that I wasn't there to support it during its decline, but I hope that eventually TGS will return again.
PARILAND: you were, I believe, the first person I actually met on NS. Thank you for everything.
I will return: whether it is in a few months, or a year, or more, and I hope that I will see Hurricane and PARILAND again on NS.
But until then: thank you all.

I will be abdicating as Governor in favour of PARILAND, who can do what they like with the region: get rid of it and start again, try and restart it, get back in peace talks with TGS :) , whatever.
All Officers will remain as they are, at PARILAND's discretion.

We do not participate with the internal... conflicts of regions we have embassies with. It is our policy and directive that we remain neutral, lest we lose the trust of the regions we've established relations with regardless of their ideologies.

I've never actually seen a region invasion before.
When we were invaded in 2020, they did the usual thing of changing our flag, our RMB, cancelling all of our embassies, and getting embassies with their own jump points and regions. It's quite easy to cancel embassies, but reinstating them is a more involved process and since we had well over a thousand, it took me 2 or 3 hours.
