Great to see that you are enjoying trading cards! Speaking of it,would you like to buy some cards that I own? My stock is full and I don't have enough bank to upgrade it. About the Season 2, there's not Season 2 yet, however I think that they will be an feature in an new update.

I’ve had a look at your stock there. At the moment I’m collecting commended/condemned nations and WA authors. If you get any keep me in mind please 😊

N-Day 4 starts in a little over six hours so if you haven't joined the discord (https://discord.gg/6WC7z8) but plan to participate, please consider joining now.

So I felt I had to decide or get off the pot, citizenship applied for 😊

N-Day has now begun. If you intend to participate please join the Canopy faction:

And the discord server:

Happy nuking!

Damn, actually ended up defending someone because of playing on the phone rather than attacking.

It's been a pleasure visiting, but featured region chasing is this nation's raison d'etre, so see y'all around. Byee!

Made the same mistake this morning

Congrats to those in the IDU that participated in Canopy for N-Day this year. Second place is pretty great!

Having zero nuclear strikes on our home turf, even despite having almost 6k targeted at us simultaneously is a pretty amazing feat. Our leadership did a great job with coordination front to back. This was fun, intense, and I learned a lot. Thanks to all who participated.

“Hrarroom!” (= “Greetings”), and a hearty "Welcome to the IDU", for Bipolar bears. I think that our paths have crossed before this, in Arctic, where I had [OOC] the non-Ursine nation of Kandor.

*(sends over a gift basket of this nation's produce, including a large jar of high-quality honey and a large bottle of high-quality maple syrup as well as assorted fruits and nuts, for your national government: If they don’t want the sweet stuff, or the nuts, then they can exchange those for some smoked salmon, or for extra fruit)*

Yes, they are a nice addition to the game.
I’m not as dedicated a collector as some other players, but am collecting cards for my own nations (whether Ursine or not), other Bear-themed ones (and some on related topics, such as Honey…), other IDU members, and various other nations with which I’ve interacted in various ways. Any other cards that I currently hold, which is most of the ones that haven't been placed in specific 'collections', including Founders, RL places, and ‘ex-nation’ ones, are probably available for trading unless I really like something about them such as their names or flags…

Many thanks for the kind welcome. As I’m sure a nation of your esteem has guessed, the awakening from hibernation of this nation after so many moons is not just coincidental in its timing with the recent arrival to your region.

Nevertheless, puppet or not, we are delighted to once again make your acquaintance and perhaps flesh this pseudo out a little further this time around.

“Hrarroom!” (= “Greetings”), and a hearty "Welcome to the IDU", for both Braveco and Port miguelle.

If you're going to stick around here, and flesh out the nation, then you could to apply for a place on the map, and then maybe discuss your nation's wildlife with me in my 'Regional Ecologist' role...

Congratulations to both North Cross and Asminoland! I'm used to it being this nation that comes last in the region for 'Most Avoided'...

That’s not a bad idea. Especially if anyone is qualified to give me advice on RPing a nation of bears 😂

I’m debating whether I want to involve Aba in the WA again too, and then there’s regional politics lol 😂😂 much thinking to be done about how I intend to play this time around

Hey, thanks! Glad you pointed it out, I hadn't noticed it'd gotten so low...it's one of those stats that I often overlook. (I'm coming for your "Book Publishing" next :P)

Warning. The following statistics may not be suitable for viewing by all audiences. Viewer discretion is advised.

Upsetting IDUSA Quick Stats

Number of IDU Member States as of 9/30/19: 26
Number of IDU Bylaws (and other Legislation) in place: 5
Number of authors of said pieces of Legislation: 2

This should make you feel a little sad on the inside. Not too sad, mind you, but sad enough that you might want to consider joining the IDU or drafting a bylaw (If you are already a member).

The truth is, we need you! Yes, you! You might not know it but you have it in your capacity to draft magnificent legislation. If there is something you don't like about the way we run things around here, draft a legislation piece to fix it. If you want something added to the IDU, draft. You name it, it's probably a valid piece of legislation. We just need you to take the first step. We need you to join or to draft.

FAQ

What is this IDUSA stuff anyway?

I could explain it but Sciongrad already did.

"The IDUSA is the formal legislative arm of the IDU government. It is responsible for passing legislation that affects the region, electing the delegate, and approving of the delegate's government. The IDU places a premium on democratic engagement and encourages all IDU members to participate."

How do I join?

This is the easy part! If you are already registered on our forums, simply search this link: https://theidu.us/forum/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=1706
You will then want to state your nation's name and your intention to become an IDUSA member on the linked forum page.

If you aren't registered, go ahead and register for the IDU forums. After you are masked as a citizen by Sanctaria, you may then follow the above instructions and apply for membership.

Are there any prerequisites to becoming and IDUSA member?

The simple answer is no. The complex answer is still mostly no. As long as you are a nation in good standing, you should be all set. Just know that you don't need any prior experience in anything relating to the IDUSA to join.

What if I have a great idea but don't know how to draft a proper piece of legislation?

Talk to us. We have all been there at some point or other. If you have a formatting question you can DM me. If you have a validity question... we have you totally covered thanks to: https://theidu.us/forum/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=2047
That link goes to a thread for open IDUSA discourse. If you have a question about the drafting process, you should be set if you ask it there.

I expect to see you shortly. Draft on!

I put a draft of a new NS issue on the Issues White Board today. I'd appreciate some constructive feedback from talented writers here. https://theidu.us/forum/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=2064

I’ve been helping United New England to develop their nation’s wildlife. Given its position on the south coast of the region’s southern continent, this is somewhat different from the assorted northern-continent ecosystems on which I worked before this.
One “unusual” species that’s present there is the‘Giant Ground Porcupine’, Macrohystrix terrens. Its genus, of which it is the sole surviving member, is endemic to that continent but belongs to the same family (Hystricidae) as the porcupines of RL Asia & Africa. This is a spiny herbivore that probably reaches around 5 feet long, excluding the tail, and might be up to 3 feet high at the shoulder!
(Latin name explained: ‘Hystrix’ is the Latin for ‘Porcupine’, and is already used for the main genus of those RL ones: The prefix ‘Macro’ obviously indicates large size. For the second part of the name I asked people in a ‘Latin Motto Help’ thread in the NS forum’s Gameplay section for a term that meant ”intimidating” (because I would certainly get out of one’s path in a hurry… ^_^ ), and “terrens” was the answer given: Presumably it comes from the same root as “terrifying”.

Thank you for the warm welcome! I'm looking forward to contributing to the IDU and meeting everyone!

That's an 'interesting' flag that you're using... ^_^

Is that flag even allowed? 0.o

I would have said yes although I do query the legality of the “white pride” bit 🤔

Abacathea wrote:I would have said yes although I do query the legality of the “white pride” bit 🤔

I think the 3rd Reich emblem was more of a concern.

Libertarian Party logo flag?
Dunno.
