"From a groundbreaking television series to an expansive collection of films, novels, comic books and so much more, Star Trek has been delivering joy, wonder, and thought-provoking stories since the 1960s," said [Jeffrey Jones, executive director of Peabody]. "With powerful anti-war and anti-discrimination messages, it has blazed trails for all science fiction franchises while winning over passionate fans across the globe. We’re proud to honor Star Trek with Peabody's Institutional Award."

Been enjoying this season of Discovery. Like the last few seasons and much of Picard, there is this mystery they have to solve but this season's episodes seem a little more self contained.

I do have 2 nitpicks about the last epsiode.

First off, a display showing an incoming ship's speed as Maximum Warp. Would be better to put Warp 9.9 or something, give some meaningful data.

Second, your prisoner escapes. Which is a Trope in Trek and probably other shows, I get that. However, it's not until the Captain is made aware of the escape that lockdown procedures are initiated.

Did enjoy the visuals of the alien ship and the updated look of the baddies compared to 90s Trek

Luckily, I know the guy who will be my PI as I'm already working with him on a similar project. And everyone I have gotten linked to has their heads screwed on fairly straight (for academics, I suppose).

Don't forget about your Moogie tomorrow, it's her special day

Greetings Texas!

***** Texas Saturday Breakfast *****

¡Ay Carumba! Classic Taco Time!!! Still All fresh, still semi-new! Saturday Breakfast In Place time! Bring out the Drones! The NewTexas Happy Taco Stands, in conjunction with the NewTexas Incendiary Corporation, has approximately 1 trillion of the fastest, lightest drones you have ever seen. This fleet is specially designed to deliver tacos to every man, woman, child, whatever, in Texas, all 2,298,628,000,000 of you.

Today will be Saturday Chorizo & Egg Breakfast Tacos [COVID-19 Week CCVII Edition]! This is no Gringo Taco, this twangy little baby is the real deal. The Head Chef has been up all night with The Big Tex Happy Taco Stands Abuelas and Abuelitas grinding and grinding Grade A Prime NewTexas whole hog sausage which is then marinated in vinegar and chili powder. After that, it all goes into the ginormous black cast-iron skillets of doom and frying commences until it produces a rich, reddish grease that is mostly drained after the chorizo is fully cooked. We then crack fresh Texas Grade AA brown eggs into the skillet and scramble. The result is an orange-ish, not-so-fluffy, yet very eggy, very spicy heap of breakfast goodness that we pile into homemade flour tortillas! A whole egg in every taco!® You know you have a good chorizo taco when you have orange grease running down your arm and dripping off your elbow. That is our promise for your taco!

Today's Special Salsa is - Chile Quemado - a fiery roasted salsa made from tomatoes, onions, garlic, and jalapeños roasted fresh on the grill. A sealed cup of Texas-made Longhorn Cheddar Jack cheese is also included for cheese lovers and a cup of Pico de Gallo is also included. The tacos are hermetically sealed in a Stay-Warm® pouch wrapped in the same ol' aluminum foil we are all so familiar with for our breakfast taco. The Juice Bar will not be possible this week. But, for your beverage needs, a packet of Sanka, Tang and a Lipton Tea bag will be included with every delivery as well as salt and pepper and a napkin. Yes, it is different, but it works and you do not even have to leave your residence. Woo! And, watch out for the drones! Start your day off the right way; munch out and go back to sleep. You know you want to!®

***** Texas Shout Outs *****

@ Grays Harbor - The Founder of Ziemia is a long-time Texan striking out on his own after being away for several years. Grays Harbor has held virtually every position in the Texas Government, has helped with the map, and has been a TDF member for decades. He was influential in Texas getting its first Embassy. He has been around that long. He is a really good guy and a Friend of Texas.

@ BrightonBurg - The Founder of One Big Island has requested more embassies with Texas than any other region. BrightonBurg is as determined as he is reliable. To show persistence pays off, we think it is time to rectify the matter.

Please join us in welcoming the new Embassies! We look forward to both. Oldtimers time.

Stay Safe Texas. Stay Well. Hang in there!

***** Texas Chat Reminder *****

The Texas Weekly Chat Session will be Saturday (TODAY) at High Noon Texas Time (CDT) ***Saturday***. And, if you can't be there right at Noon, that is Ok, Texas Chat usually runs 3, 4, or 5 hours with some Chats running as high as 7 or 8 hours.

The Texas Chat Site is here: http://texasregion.net/blab70/login.php

Please register with your nation name. This is an excellent opportunity for nations old and new to Texas to find out what is going on! We chat, debate, and talk about the weather, stuff we like, stuff we hate, random stuff, and more. But, it is never stuffy. Usually, it is about meeting your fellow Texans and discussing the latest and most interesting stuff in NationStates. But then again, sometimes NationStates does not even come up. It is wide-open chatting with peeps from around The World both IRL and NS. It is Texans, EuroTexans, WannabeTexans, ex-Texans, VirtualTexans, and plenty of Friends of Texans. We have it all and all are welcome.

We have added a new feature to Texas Chat, Texas Movie Chat! Chat with Texans while watching a movie. Fun stuff! So far we have watched Halloween, Shootout at the OK Corral, Red, and recently a few new Star Trek series episodes. Want to watch something together?

Texas Chat, 988 weeks, and running! For the math-challenged, that is over 19½ years! Check it out! Good stuff!

Howdy Texas! What do you think of being part of US? Or being independence? Or being part of Mexico?
