In the early days of Pacifica, when I was there, I remember that some of us liked to roleplay. It was the first grasping attempts at NSRP on the Pacifica RMB, and it gradually evolved and people seemed to enjoy it. There is very likely still a place for roleplayers here. Don't forget where we came from.

Hi folks. Badivermeraed here. I'd like to formally announce my campaign for PM. While a full campaign post will be made sometime in the near future, I'd just like to do a quick overview of what I plan for the region.
1. A reflection on what this region is really about.
How often do you pause and think about NS, and what regions are for? Like, seriously folks, what are some thoughts on the future of this region? Well, I'll tell you what I think NationStates. I believe we're all here to come together as a regional family, regardless of outside factors. While that might sound sappy, it's what I genuinely, truly believe. We should, nay, need to have a complete hard look at what we want to accomplish, for this first goverment shall set the precedent for all future goverments.
2. Increasing regional security
Our security has thrived under a team comprising of Cormactopia prime, Rockiberg, Sho, 
Wymondham, and myself, supported with responsible ministries. However, I have an amendment all ready to go that will fuel our security for months to come. What I've been working on, along with a few others, is a program that will be working with other handpicked regions for joint security of our respective regions. I've waited a while, but I believe we are ready for this task.
3. Foreign relationships
While we are a friend to many regions, and that feeling is often returned, I know we can do better at getting engaged with different regions. If you look around us at all our embassies, you'll see different people from all walks of life. I feel as if we do not get enough of that. I feel like we should encourage Thalassia to our embassies, to open it up to various events, as we've seen some different regions doing. Thalassia, in my mind, should be a place of great conversation, and will be under my proposed administration.
4. A regional discord?
I'll just make my stance clear on this topic. I support a regional discord. When I notice a new nation asking if we have a discord, and get turned away, I always think of other regions, who have very active discords, getting these fun new people. I know that a discord will help communication between the people and goverment, which is citizens elevated to this status to serve.
5. A transparent goverment
A goverment needs to be transparent, and I know that many of you wonder what goes on in the goverment discord. That's why I'd like for ministries to be transparent, and for ministers to be open and a clear representative of their ministry.

I would also very much like a regional discord since I feel RMBs can limit us to what we talk about or do for fun in the region.
Addendum: Just found out that Wintreath has finished their Underhusen elections last October 8. I will continue making announcements of this nature for the regions I am ambassador to.
I’m happy to hear that Badivermeraed is entering the race for PM, as it’s always good to have a competitive election. After seeing his campaign announcement, I have a couple questions for him (with multiple parts, just so I don’t assume anything incorrectly) regarding his support for a regional Discord server:
1.) You say that having a regional Discord server can allow for better communication between the people and government. Does this mean that you would merge the government Discord server and the public Discord server to create one, universal Discord server for the region? If not, then how would you set up a communication system between the different servers (unless you meant something else, such as announcing events and administering surveys on the public Discord server, which are then passed on to the government one)?
2.) You say that there are new members who would be willing to enter into a Discord server for our region, and I assume you mean that having a Discord server available to them would help them integrate into the region. However, it is not known whether the majority of new nations have access to Discord, or would prefer using a Discord server rather than the regional RMB. So if the majority of new nations actually can’t use Discord, or wouldn’t be active or happy in a Discord server, would it not be unfair to that majority of new nations to have a regional Discord server, since that server would draw activity away from the RMB and leave them struggling to find active roleplay or discussion to participate in? If the majority of new nations actually do have Discord, is it still not unfair to ignore the minority of nations (who, despite being a minority, may still make up a large number of new nations, as Thalassia continues to grow) that do not?
i dont support having a regional discord. since it takes away from the rmb, which means new joiners will see the rmb and not think its exciting and something they would care about. Also because many people dont have discord.

I won't lean one way or the other in terms of a Discord at this time, but I would like to remind everyone that the creation of one will require an amendment to the constitution and a referendum. It would need 3/4ths of the vote to pass- so if the community is against it, it won't happen. It would be prudent to focus on policies that are perhaps more immediate and certain.

After freshly considering the field of candiates I would like to endorse Badivermeraed. Bad and i have worked closely as MoHA and MoI respectively. He is the best intelligence guy I know on NS. His dedication, intelligence and ability to think on his first is unparalleled across NS and I urge you all to back him in these elections
Just felt I'd drop in the fact that I'm endorsing Czech germania as PM!
While there are some good candidates running, I believe that Czech is the best for the region!

Crime is down, economy is up, freedom secured...
In recent times, the John Stossel Kill Crime Commission has recently been disbanded following the success of their mission, to quote: "Kill most of the crime while keeping freedom free" While there are arguments over whether or not crime has truly been killed in John Stossel, World Assembly census readings do report record lows in crime, however John Stossel remains one of the foremost criminal nations in the region of Thalassia. The census seems to support the idea that most of John Stossel's crime is and has been non-violent, but the data is not specific on the type of crime, only that the death rate is low, and not closely correlated to the crime rate.
First, thank you for the questions! I'd like to just promise this right now: I am open to any suggestions, comments, or criticism. I would very much like to know what Thalassia thinks of my campaign, and if elected, I will continue to take feedback.
And now my response to Czech:
As for communication, that's very easy to accomplish. We have an actual set ministry that can release reports on the goverment and make announcements. They'll be the most helpful in this task.
2. I think two of the main concerns on this idea of a public discord is a. Security, and b. taking away from the RMB.
First things first, I'd like to just address the security concerns. The MoS is a combination of two great ministries, and has never let us down before. There have been many successful tasks completed, and every operative is very dedicated and takes their job seriously. I do not believe security will be an issue.
As for detracting from the RMB, I'd think it would add to it. During the presidential debate that was very well put together and civil, the moderators were using a group chat with all the candidates in place of an RMB post. This kept the RMB clean and there was no break from the discussion. The debate was also exclusively planned on discord, and went on without a hitch.
I'll bring up another example, as well. Before the Pacifica North convention, it was planned out also on discord. We haven't had any event planned on the RMB come close to those two, and imagine what planning an RMB war would look like on a public discord! I know that a discord and RMB system works well, as I'm in multiple regions, including our embassy Wintreath.
It is my hope that you, the people, make an educated decision on the next PM, and I know that anyone elected will do their best.

I may not be a voting member of this community anymore but election time in Thalassia is one of my favorite times!
Glad to see a great field of candidates and I want to give my full backing to Badivermeraed. That isn’t a slight on the other candidates but a recognition of the character, integrity and competency that Bad has shown ever since I joined the last government of Pacifica.
I don’t personally support the policy of a public Discord but I don’t see that as a crucial issue in this election.
