Well mostly we'd rather not see the world burn down in another world war. Strong allies can insure that. Unfortunately, the powers of the world have already taken their sides so now it's a rush to pull lesser powers like you and I into these sides. I would say- Lord Protector Alderman cut off as a muffled scream travelled through the door. The guards rushed to lock it but it flew off its hinges, the thick wood splintering as it hit the wall on the other side of the room. A woman, maybe late fifties by the look of her, was gouging out the eyes of a rather dead looking scandinavian man in a grey suit. The woman herself had a suit white as falling snow, although bloodstains ruined the clothing. The drycleaners would have a terrible day tomorrow.

The mystery killer turned, her storm grey eyes filled with a savage bloodlust. In those eyes was age and experience far beyond any normal person. Although the raven black feathery wings sprouting from her shoulder blades, the same color as her shoulder length straight hair, dispelled any illusion of normal the moment she gouged Financial Officer Schilling's eyes out.

She walked into the room and the guards shot at her. As was to be expected of an otherworldly being, the bullets had no effect. She merely flicked her fingers and the guards thudded against the walls.

The being looked coldly at Lord Protector Louis Alderman, who looked coldly and calmly back. That wasn't too necessary, my Lady.

Scorn shaped her tone for the response. Disobedience wasn't too necessary, either. Her voice seemed like six voices at once, chiming from all different directions with perfect clarity.

Well maybe if I didn't have world politics to worry about, I could've killed your targets. Maybe if you had me kill them before Pine.

A flash of anger glinted in her old, old eyes. Don't question me boy. You had one job. You failed. Schilling is but one, Alder. Kill the rest or you will have both me and Theondume after you. She snapped her fingers, and time seemed to move backwards. At least for the guards. They went back into place and bullets entered their guns as a swoosh of black wings made Pantala disappear. The diplomat was the only one whose mind wasn't wiped. Alderman's head seemed to snap back into position.
