irl energy research: Cyclotella is a genus of algae that has been researched for its energy properties. Growing the algae is carbon negative, since it is a plant. Converting the algae into oil is carbon-neutral. Using that energy by burning it does emit carbon, but recycling ash as fertilizer allows the emissions to be less than the amount sequestered during the growth faze.
Biomass-based fuel is generally considered carbon-neutral (https://www.eia.gov/energyexplained/biomass/biomass-and-the-environment.php).

My thoughts on the energy research portrayed in the rp: I imagine Joanna Sinkos' process (with the mixing of algae and human-waste biomass) to create a substance so dense that some carbon is trapped while burning. I'd still have to deal with waste products, but the Large Evrigenese Energy Team was partially created to deal with issues like this. I'm thinking they could make lab-grown diamonds and/or graphene with the excess carbon but haven't researched enough to say for sure (another reason why it takes me so long to respond).

Schizophrenia would definitely be a cool plot for later...

She continued smiling. "Biofuel it is. Evrigenis has recently depleted much of its supply with the launch of Eos II; however, the country is willing to ship 2.5 kilolitres per week to Golbad for the next few years. To compliment your space-faring ventures, you may also be interested in liquid oxygen and liquid nitrogen storage in Kryos... It is more environmentally friendly to use naturally cold facilities."
She assessed his offer, "The nation appreciates your offer of copper and lithium, but does not need either. Neodymium and ships, however, are in demand."

Alright, I remember hearing about that. That's pretty good to know, though not the tech I use for carbon capture.

"I could supply you with a carbon capture system as well, provided the ability to sell its captured carbon for fuel. But I suppose getting definite numbers down would require the CEOs of these businesses to get their definite numbers. It will be mutually beneficial though, I'm sure."

But space ventures. He had been thinking about that, if he was honest with himself. But this bio-fuel. While it may be useful, it was unlikely its energy density and traits under the sheer cold of space could match to fuels such as hydrogen or methane. However it would have other uses, that was certain.

Rage mage wrote:Well here is my first story in my post-armageddon world. It may be a little rough. as this is my first time.

The wind blows gently over the surface. An eerie calm that had become common to the world. 7 years ago this planet was full of life, culture, and hope.

Then it all fell apart....

04:00 The Dust Bowl

“Sir? You ready?”

Major Johnston snapped to attention.

“Huh what?”

Staff Sargent Filk looked at him.

“We gotta keep moving. If the bogies catch up to us then we lose this chance at victory.”

She sternly stated. Eyes showing nothing but...Johnston wasn’t sure what it was. But it wasn’t glee.

“Right. Sorry. I just..got caught in a memory.” he quickly responded. Turning away from the metal beam he was leaning against.

Filks gaze softened. “Have you...been here before sir?” she questioned.

Johnston nodded. “Yes. I was here when this place was born. I was there when this graveyard was brought into the world.” He looked out the opening in the wall.

“It was a nightmare. Watching it all.” he quietly spoke.

“We were deployed to aid Nova-Colombia in evacuating civilians from the coast. Thinking back now, those chemical burns all those people had was the least of our worries.” Johnston’s hand began to shake.

“We got the last of the survivors into the evac subs and had pushed off. We made our way into open waters. Trying to reach Unistan to drop off the wounded for treatment.” the major continued on as he walked into the next room.

“I was the comms officer onboard the Unbound. Monitoring the network for any updates. We dropped off the survivors and began to make a return trip. But we hit something or rather something hit us.”

“The weapon...” Filks breathed out

Johnston nodded. “The shockwave, yes. We didn’t know at the time what happened. But as we got closer to the Serapis opening. We found our path blocked.”

“The Serpents Wall I’m assuming.” stated Filks. Looking out a broken window. A massive wall of dirt, stone, and some stuff no one could identify.

Johnston leaned over a table. “Bingo. We had to surface. I was ordered to take the first look. I climbed that ladder with thoughts of how this logically could’ve happened. When I opened that hatch it was like a wave of death brushed over me. I knew before the smoke even cleared that this was not within the realms of mere logic. It was armageddon.”

He looked up, once again surveying the area, just like he once did 7 years ago.

“It was a genocide. Those bastards launched that thing with the intent of ending the world.” Johnston began to shake.

“I saw no life. No hope. Just wrecks, skeletons, and misery. It took one day. And the world just fell apart.”

The Dust Bowl, the point of no return. Someone, somewhere, launched a missile containing a Nuclear Evap-warhead. Landing in the middle of the fleets comprised of the finest ships and leaders. The waters were removed from existence. Followed by the nuclear blast that evaporated all life in the area.

Now, the Dust Bowl is home to the twisted, charred corpses of Valsora’s finest sea going vessels. Years upon years of naval advancements. Left to rust.

Johnston looked over at Filks. “Enough story time. Let’s go.” They both began to climb down the ruined ship they were standing on. “Evac point is 2 klicks north. We need to be there by 0700 or we get left behind.” Johnston announced.

Filks nodded. “Understood sir”

OOC: Sorry if this is confusing or hard to understand.

I’m considering reviving this universe. Is this too dialogue heavy?

IC:

A warm welcome from the Columbian Council of Marshals

Greetings and salutations to the nation of Evrigenis. May your days be long, and may you bring honor to your family. As the collective executive body of Columbia, we shall send one amongst ourselves to meet with your representative. Marshal Kozlov shall travel via a plane to your nation, and shall arrive in roughly a day. We look forward to a beneficial discussion.

Regards,
The Council of Marshals

OOC: Trying out a new flag. ^-^

Also, just fyi, a lot of stuff in my factbooks is currently outdated, as I'm looking into a slight lore reboot, mainly within my internal government. I may also start using my Krionik account at some point, given that Columbia doesn't really sound that Slavic tbh. Anyways, I'm exhausted. Almost midnight over here. See y'all later! ^-^

I'll tg you more info about the alpha in the next couple days or so.

Demetrius Tachisos watched the capitol's imposing Doric columns recede in his rear-view mirror. He drove down the snow-dusted mountain with caution, sure to keep his instructions in mind: "Meet Marshal Kozlov and the representative from Slagenseter forn at gates γ1 and α13, respectively. By NO MEANS should you be less than half an hour early. After you pick them up, return to the capitol building. The guests should be instructed to go up the steps and meet Nicolas Danto inside." The last embers of the sun sunk below the horizon as Demetrius arrived at Kallipolis International Airport. He shivered. And waited.

I like the new flag.
