Pirates have begun to place prototype Predator class sea mines in major hotspots of sea craft. These mines are sunk to the bottom of the seabed, hidden from detection, when a ship passes overhead, the mines locks are released, and the mines rocket upward at terrifying speeds. Minefields now appear out of no where, strike vessels, and then seemingly vanish, as the remaining mines are towed back down to their resting place, awaiting the next target.

With the Kurikian artillery now firing, and their missile artillery roaring in the skies like dragons that are prepared to catch prey, dozens of defenses such as counter-battery and Close-In Weapon Systems target the incoming missiles. BRRRRRRTT. The sounds of 30mm shells caught the sound environment, sounding like a giant using a combination of a minigun and a chainsaw.
CIWS bullets and shells were filling the sky, as they are intercepting numerous missiles countering the Sminishian artillery. Most have succeeded, meaning missiles, at least most, have been shot down, however, three SAM batteries were unlucky, as they were hit by missiles. Luckily, no civilian targets have been hit. As for the Sminishian missiles, while most have been shot down, some of them still make a land on few Kurikian SAM batteries and a radar station (didn't tell the damage because I obviously can't control them).
Upon noticing Kurikian Imperial aircraft via radar and physical view, the 57th fighter squadron startted to chase said Kurikian planes. They are locking targets with air-to-air missiles and firing them towards the aircraft. Just after the missiles were fired, the squad leader's jet has activated infrared countermeasures, which are made to confuse enemy Anti-Air missile defenses.
At the ground battle, mechanized infantry and Main Battle tanks, while being careful for mines as warned, continue their assault and invasion, attempting to push in marked territory and at least some structural objectives as they battle with the Kurikian army. While the offensive is going on, civilians in border towns are evacuating voluntarily, as some who did not evacuate held guns that they bought from stores, as it's legal in Sminishia to hold firearms and defend themselves.
