Fortilder wrote:But Judaism arose from even more ancient Jewish religions, where besides Yahweh there were other gods. These beliefs came from even older versions of paganism that appeared when primitive people tried to explain the phenomena of nature.

There is no sense in any national and religious difference, because we all have common roots. Any national prejudices do not constitute even a thousandth of what unites us, and we should still think based on this, and not try to prove an advantage on the basis of some signs and variations of a single human identity.

Isn't Yahweh Hebrew for God? We could argue Islam copied Christian and Judaism texts to their likings, I have read parts of The Quran.

As far as I know, in the Hebrew religions at first there were many gods, but then Yahweh became the only god and this faith turned into modern Judaism.

Islam recognizes the Old Testament as a scripture and recognizes Jesus and Judas as prophets, and also uses approximately the same concepts of heaven and hell, sins, God and the devil, demons and much more, as in Christianity.

In 1066 when my ancestors left France and came to Britain, they left Europe and they forged a new identity, a new set of ideas, a new culture and a new nation. I accept that we should work together for the common good, however we should not compromise our seperate identities and our different ways for the sake of some ridiculous notion that because our forefathers spoke the same language one thousand years ago we should be part of some superstate.

In fact, in 1066 only the royal family, its environment and troops moved from France to Britain, and it is unlikely that you are their descendants. In fact, the Angles moved to the British Isles in the 6th-7th centuries, and the Norman conquest had little effect on "national identity", although it changed the language and culture quite a lot.

They formed a new identity, a new culture, and a new nation, but kept their continental land and tried to expand onto the continent for centuries until they were forced to back off.

Psst! Social justice doesn't necessarily mean censoring. This is literally the most blatant corporatism that you can pull. And it's definitely a copyright law. It's like you didn't read beneath a headline or something.

Nathan, please hit this juul.

Lol, I am not very religious. But we shouldn't attack certain views, unless you start saying a opinion is bad.

My direct paternal ancestor was a Norman who came over with the army of William the Conqueror and was rewarded with a significant title and land. My fifth cousin still holds a title.

And yes, although the Angles, Saxons and Jutes were the main tribes which became known collectively as the 'English', the Normans were the last immigrants we would class nowadays as "First Nations" or "Natives" or whatever other Maoist term they want to use.

If memory serves me correctly Christianity believe in 3 gods, or extensions of the one God and Judaism and Islam are both monotheistic.

But can someone who is Muslim please explain to me what drives people to become extremists? Like surely a God is not going to want you to blow innocent people up to receive "72 virgins in heaven".

Christianity is also monotheistic. It's 3 forms of one God, to put it simply.

The three "gods" are the Father "God", the Son "Jesus", and the Holy Spirit. Each are forms of God but there is still only one. As The greatest bestest nation said.

Christians don't confess there are three "forms" of God, because He is not three manifestations of the same God; but rather three persons who are distinct from one another, and at the same time all coequal and one God. The Athanasian Creed offers a much more in-depth explanation.

Looks like the United States might get Greenland, which hopefully we grant independence. Some Canadian's want to join the United States, Albertans.
