The Queendom of Facast is a massive, cultured nation, renowned for its deadly medical pandemics, digital currency, and multi-spousal wedding ceremonies. The hard-nosed, hard-working, democratic, devout population of 2.111 billion Facastians are effectively ruled by a group of massive corporations, who run for political office and provide their well-off citizens with world-class goods and services. Their poorer citizens, however, are mostly starving to death while being urged to go out and get real jobs. The populace has reasonably extensive civil rights, although these are mostly aimed at allowing them to buy whatever they like.
The relatively small, corrupt, pro-business, outspoken government prioritizes Industry, with Education, Law & Order, and Administration also on the agenda, while Welfare and Defense aren't funded at all. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 16.6%.
The frighteningly efficient Facastian economy, worth 332 trillion rupees a year, is broadly diversified and led by the Information Technology industry, with major contributions from Retail, Soda Sales, and Tourism. Average income is an impressive 157,282 rupees, but there is a large disparity between incomes, with the richest 10% of citizens earning 720,699 per year while the poor average 20,866, a ratio of 34.5 to 1.
Families must live in a village for a century before they get any say in how it runs, convicted felons are forced into slavery for their crimes, worried-looking neonatal nurses are being deployed in place of SWAT teams during dangerous drug busts, and being wrong on the internet has been classified as digital terrorism. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to a capable police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Facast's national animal is the horse, which is also the nation's favorite main course.
Facast is ranked 8,826th in the world and 7th in The Khamen Union for Most Cultured, scoring 121 on the Snufflebottom-Wiggendum Pentatonic Scale.
