The Commonwealth of Overseas Regions is a massive, socially progressive nation, remarkable for its compulsory military service, complete absence of social welfare, and spontaneously combusting cars. The hard-nosed, hard-working, devout population of 3.656 billion Overseas Kiravians are either ruled by a sleek, efficient government or a conglomerate of multinational corporations; it's difficult to tell which.

The tiny, pro-business government is effectively ruled by the Department of Spirituality, although Defense is also considered important, while Environment and Welfare aren't funded at all. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 6.9%.

The strong Overseas Regional economy, worth 198 trillion lire a year, is driven almost entirely by the private sector, which is broadly diversified and led by the Cheese Exports industry, with major contributions from Retail, Door-to-door Insurance Sales, and Beef-Based Agriculture. Average income is 54,352 lire, but there is a vast disparity between incomes, with the richest 10% of citizens earning 350,306 per year while the poor average 3,407, a ratio of 102 to 1.

Crime is a problem, with the police force struggling against a lack of funding and a high mortality rate. Overseas Regions's national animal is the storm petrel, which can occasionally be seen sifting through garbage in the nation's cities.

Overseas Regions is ranked 102,332nd in the world and 8th in Ocean for Most Primitive, scoring -18.71 on the Scary Big Number Scale.
