The Badge-Collecting Assassins of TryHards is a colossal, safe nation, ruled by Anthrax the deadly with an iron fist, and notable for its barren, inhospitable landscape, deadly medical pandemics, and keen interest in outer space. The hard-nosed, cynical, humorless population of 4.518 billion Tryhards are kept under strict control by the oppressive government, which measures its success by the nation's GDP and refers to individual citizens as "human resources."

The large, corrupt, moralistic, well-organized government juggles the competing demands of Defense, Administration, and Law & Order. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Achievement City. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 68.1%.

The frighteningly efficient Tryhardian economy, worth 552 trillion skill points a year, is fairly diversified and led by the Retail industry, with major contributions from Soda Sales, Information Technology, and Beef-Based Agriculture. Black market activity is rampant. State-owned companies are reasonably common. Average income is an impressive 122,271 skill points, but there is a large disparity between incomes, with the richest 10% of citizens earning 523,239 per year while the poor average 18,317, a ratio of 28.6 to 1.

Academics have a bone to pick with free market entrepreneurs, political activists are routinely executed, mosh pits are a common phenomenon in Anthrax the deadly's political rallies, and grazing lands are filled with cattle wearing odd-looking anti-pollution devices. Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown, thanks to a very well-funded police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. TryHards's national animal is the XPick-Me Falcon, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to toxic air pollution, and its national religion is TryHardian Assassin's Code.

TryHards is ranked 223,150th in the world and 44th in The Bar on the corner of every region for Largest Gambling Industry, scoring -3.28 on the Kelly Criterion Productivity Index.
