I'd suggest a person in this situation should simply ask someone they know for a nomination, which, if they actually are familiar enough with the rmb crowd to be a good LC, should be a shoe in. People can't nominate literally everyone they know each time an election comes up, and it's hard to gauge someone's interest in running, so it's highly probable that some people who wanted to run won't get nominated if they stay silent, and not because people don't want to nominate them, so it's always best to just ask some people you're close with, the nomination shouldn't be a problem to secure for anyone who'd stand a chance to be LC.

The whole actually needing a nomination to run is a new addition, before I believe it was kinda just assumed that if you were saying you were gonna run you were also self-nominating and such, and nominations were mainly just used to try to cajole people into running, but now it's actually a requirement to get someone else to nominate you for some reason or another, it's really quite strange, but it's also worth noting we have no way to track whether you simply nominate yourself with a puppet, though it would be quite strange if somebody who's never talked came out of knowhere and nominated someone. All this is neither here nor there though since, as I said, if you're established enough on the rmb to be LC, you should just be able to ask someone for a nomination.
