The nation of Nihon has started a campaign in their Korean states that involves the building up of fortifications around the border. The border is not far from the State of Manchuria and has caused some concern among locals. We interviewed people on the streets of Changchun

Post Office Competition
The China Post Office may be getting competition from private enterprise. The Post Office was allowed to be the primary letter and parcel carrier in China but was not made into a legal monopoly by law. The China Letter Company(CLC) and the Taiwan Postal and Parcel Company(TPPC)has petitioned the Judicial Yuan to allow them to compete in their respective areas. They cite the law not giving the Post Office complete control but to be the primary company whereas the Post office says the court ruling gave them effective control of the mail industry. The issue will be settled in court in a week's time.

Kuomintang Hold A Rally
The Kuomintang Party held a joint rally with other right leaning parties including: The China Solidarity Union Party, People First Party and the Liberty Party. The rally included singing the National Anthem, speeches and workshops. Workshop topics ranged from economic based, growing your own food and Chinese philosophy.

A small group of Marxists attempted to cause trouble but were ordered to leave by attendees without incident. The Kuomintang Rally also called the "Blue Rally" is one of the largest gatherings of Conservatives and Classical Liberals in China.

Tourism arrest...

Ephyral police arrested two tourists yesterday afternoon in the sea-side town of Kaleka, eastern Selia. A 33-year-old male and a 30-year-old female were taken into local custody following an altercation with a citizen man and his slave. It is understood that the unidentified citizen, whilst reprimanding his slave for a transgression of some nature, was approached by the 33-year-old man who engaged in belligerent behaviour regarding both the treatment of the slave and the practice of slavery in general. He was accompanied in doing so by the 30-year-old woman, understood to be the man's girlfriend. The encounter drew a small crowd before escalating when the foreign man punched the citizen repeatedly, maintaining the assault after he fell to the ground. Police responded quickly to the development, and placed the man and woman both under arrest on charges of assault and accomplice to assault. Medical care was arranged for the citizen, who has been hospitalised but is believed stable.

The identity of the two suspects as foreigners was quickly confirmed and they are now known to be tourists rather than resident foreigners or federates. The two have since been identified as Ethan Wright, and Natalie Bryant, both nationals of Washington. Detained separately, it is expected that Washington will take an interest in their citizens' arrests and arrange and petition for their release. If so, the punishment for the crime committed is likely to be pecuniary or corporal rather than custodial.

Local police have issued a brief statement online, making clear the arrest, and advising tourists to "remain within the bounds of civil law" when in Ephyra or its federates. Incidents with tourists are not common however, and popular tourist hot-spots see little in the way of lawbreaking or conflict with citizens.

Ancient epic applauded at showing...

A highly anticipated movie produced and shot in Ephyra itself was met with strong approval by critics and audience following its release three days ago. "Immortality" tells the tale of the legendary warrior Perilos, and his participation in the monumental war fought between an alliance of early Selian states and the mighty city of Tendaram. The film featured numerous high profile actors, including Kaeros Baelios Forvena as Perilos, and Lavina Toseria Ardina as the princess Adara.

"Just as good as the arena" said one online comment, in reference to the numerous action battle scenes present in the film. The film, containing two sex scenes, also attracted criticism - for though the actors starring in the movie are of the appropriate legal status to perform as such, concern was raised about its direction at audiences. The director of the film, Sparios Novinios Serenos, dismissed the criticism before the premiere however in a statement reading, "for the average citizen I am sure more explicit content may be found in the brothels they frequent, and I have placed sufficient trust in the good women of Ephyra not to lose their upbringing of modesty at the sight of bare flesh".

Concerns were likely raised by the starring of Forvena, a citizen actress from a non-freeholder background who made a name for herself through both talent and beauty, her starring in the movie is reflective of her status as something of a risqué sex symbol. The division on the nature of the film as appropriate is another echo of a dichotomy between more traditionalist conservative elements and more relaxed points of view.

Coup in Karthspire..?

Karthspiri news had shed light upon what appears to be a coup against the Islamic Republic government of Karthspire by the Aria Party, described as a neo-fascist movement, along with supporters of the formerly exiled Prince Arhél, and elements of the Karthspiri military against police and the Revolutionary Guard in the capital and other cities. The Supreme Ruler reported on these incidents and ordered the military to replace police in these locations, leading to the eventual shift in balance. Reports that the Supreme Ruler is now under arrest by Arhél loyalists in the military and the Aria Party whilst conflict continues elsewhere in the country.

These events followed announcements suspending elections, believed by some to be a counter-measure against the rise of support for the Aria Party - which if true may have played a factor in the coup itself. With the situation still developing, it is not yet possible to ascertain the reality of the situation or what might happens in the coming days and weeks.

Trouble in the Freehold

Yesterday, a Washingtonian couple was arrested in Ephyra in regards to a confrontation over a matter of slavery. The couple, Ethan Wright and Natalie Bryant were both detained by Ephyran police and were administered medical care due to minor injuries sustained in the confrontation. Slavery, being a relatively short experience in the Republic of Washington has however remained an issue many in Washington are very aware of abroad. The Freehold, one of the few states that continues to practice slavery in the modern world has drawn criticism from many international human right's organizations, and occasionally drawn criticism from the Washingtonian government as well. Despite this over the years, few incidents have arisen from tourists from both Washington and Ephyral over issues of culture and practices with incident being one of the few exceptions.

The State Department has announced that it will be pursuing actions to obtain the release and safe return of it's two citizens abroad. Though this may mean the two could be banned from reentry into Ephyra, it would at least mean ties could be amended and a return to normalcy in terms of foreign relations. The ambassador to Ephyral has already begun to the process of releasing them and having them repatriated. Hopes are to have this resolved within the week.

Rise of Fascism in the Land of the Rising Sun
In a shocking turn of events, the democratic and elected government of Nihon was overthrown this week and replaced a fascist dictatorship. With a more volatile and aggressive leader at the helm, Akira Adachihara, this new Nihon government has already announced plans for an extensive rearmament program. On top of a vast increase in military spending to rearm that already relatively small Nihon defense force, an extensive conscription plan for all males aged 19-35. Defense analysist and economists have speculated what sort of economic damage this course of action would result in as it would strip away a majority of the labor force. It would result in a military that swells so rapidly it may not have the equipment or even uniforms to supply it's servicemen for at least several years as it attempts to become a major military power. However, if annalists are certain of one this, it is this. This massive conscription process, plus the preparation of forces in Korea along the border with China means only one thing: war is almost certain. As of now, active military forces have been put on alert, but the National Guard an military reserves have not been activated yet. More news to come.

With ever more blood being shed throughout the night, the nation's Armed Forces, in the early hours of this morning, prevailed against the forces still loyal to the Revolution. In a speech broadcast on Television and Radio, the Commander of the nation's Armed Forces, General Irenden Direnhál, informed the nation of several immediate changes to the nation including the suspension of the Revolutionary Constitution as well as Shari'a Law and its replacement with a new, Monarchist Constitution protected by Secular Law. The General urged those still loyal to the revolution to peacefully turn themselves over to authorities with promises of amnesty given to those who willingly submit to re-integration.

In what surprised many, the General confimed that Prince Arhél of the House of Maravirr had been liberated from his internment and was in the safe hands of the Army. For us Karthspiri, Ephyra has long been a place where we can holiday, relax and experience things impossible to access in our homeland. Perhaps the nation is a bit rough around the edges, and cultural institutions exist there which do not in the homeland but, nevertheless, we are brought up to respect our hosts. Unfortunately, it seems that not all peoples are raised with such a respectful attitude. The Ephyral nation was rocked this morning with reports of an attack committed against one of their own by Washingtonian tourists visiting the country. Whilst many analysts expect the nation of Washington to quickly lobby for the release of its citizens, international support for the actions of the Ephyral authorities in this particular case, including the support of our own, new Government, may slow or even stall such attempts altogether.

As yesterday's coup in our own nation has shown, the world's politics are almost always resting on a knife's edge. Just as we swept the old guard aside, so have the Japanese in their creation of a new, fascist Government. The Glorious Nihon Navy has had massive technological breakthroughs recently, and is almost ready to equip the following weapons into the Navy. These technological breakthroughs will hopefully put us on par with the west, to truly show we are once again a force to be reckoned with! Although all details have not been released, the government has so far provided us with this:

- A supersonic ramjet powered anti-ship cruise missile capable of reaching speeds of Mach 2 to Mach 3. With a maximum firing range of 240 kilometers.
- A missile system consisting of a family of self propelled surface to air missiles, with a target acquisition range of 140 kilometers
- A supersonic anti-ship cruise missile capable of reaching speeds of Mach 3. With a top flight altitude of 14,000 m, and a maximum range of 300-600 kilometers.
- A surface to air missile system, that can hit targets up to 120 km.
- A single-face active phased array radar said to be "capable of detecting even a single individual hair in a pilots head." It helps guide the surface-to-air missiles to their intended targets.

The ships are being upgraded and converted in order to be able to fully take advantage of this new technology.

When asked how the Navy managed to create such wonders, the Supreme Navy Admiral Eiichi Ishizaki described it as "simply the intelligence of great minds. A thing bound to happen when you let the people of Nihon work to their full potential"

Kaleka magistrates protest Washingtonian repatriation efforts...

Shortly after the announcement made of the arrest of Ethan Wright, 32, and Natalie Bryant, 30, in the municipality and capital seat of Kaleka, the Washingtonian State Department announced its own efforts to ensure the two foreigners are successfully and safely repatriated, with the Washingtonian ambassador pursuing talks with the Ephyral central government. The leading magistrates of Kaleka itself however have made public their discontent with this pursuit, insisting that the mere repatriation and even a possible ban on re-entry for Wright and Bryant does not constitute the proportional justice expected of a violent assault.

Neither the Ephyral Senate nor the archons have issued a statement regarding this matter, and are likely engaged in dialogue with the appropriate Washingtonian officials. Though it is expected that the leading magistrates and council of Kaleka will abide by the decision of the archons and their cabinet when it is made, for now it appears as though the elected officials of that locality are seeking to ensure that Wright and Bryant face greater consequences for their actions than merely deportation.

Boating accident avoids tragedy...

In a fortunate turn of events, no one died or was seriously injured last night after two small boats collided with one another around 5 miles off of the coast of Laxeros, a colony in north Africa. The boats had a combined passenger count of twelve, and collided in low light during the late evening. Though one of the boats was damaged to the point of capsizing, the five aboard were able to be pulled onto the second boat until they were reached and returned to shore by local authorities.

Video footage recorded by one of the passengers made its way to social media, where users shared it with advise to not sail too far out in low light, as the situation may have turned out differently. The local coastguard of Laxeros echoed these sentiments, stating that "the recovery of these people, though fortunate, may not be guaranteed in every case if they are too far out to be contacted".

A new Karthspire...

Following news of what was appearing to be a coup in Karthspire, it has now been announced that Prince Arhél has now been declared Emperor Arhél II Maravirr Arathárr of the Third Empire of Karthspire, with the previous government's Supreme Leader having been forced to resign. The new Emperor quickly addressed the people of Karthspire, promising growth and development as well as maintaining a pan-Karthspiri approach to foreign policy, he also outlined plans for a new capital built on the site of Persepolis, the ceremonial capital of the ancient Achaemenid Persian Empire that was destroyed during the pan-Selian war against Persia some 2,300 years ago. Though the city survived this destruction, it never regained former prominence. Arhél II's open desire to restore this ancient symbol of imperial power has been interpreted by some as a statement to foreshadow possible expansionism, and a revival of more than just a mere image.

Governments around the world have been reluctant to recognise Arhél II as the legitimate ruler of Karthspire, Ephyra included. Conversely, none have declared him as illegitimate either, and it is probable that many are waiting to see the end of the violence in the region before offering any congratulations or statements of acknowledgement.

Fascism in the east...

In keeping with what appears to be a trend of revolution, the country of Japan in the east has openly declared itself as a fascist state under a new emperor, Akira Adachihara. The brother of this new emperor, Nozomi Adachihara, has taken office as Prime Minister, with his first act to be declaring the name of the country as Nihon. This was coupled with an announcement for a vast military buildup, alarming its neighbours in the region including China and the Moluccas Federation.

Since this initial broadcast, Nihon has further stated social ambitions of a mass entry of women into the labour force to replace the men expected to be conscripted into the state's military, including women both with and without children. Furthermore, late teenagers have been instructed by law to acquire jobs, although what punishment might befall them for failing to do so has not been made clear. Military focus is emphasising a naval build-up, reflecting the country's island nature, posing a significant concern to the Moluccas Federation as the world waits to see whether this rejuvenation of a Nihon spirit comes with ambitions of conquest.

Soviets Deploy
The Soviet Red Army has activated their troops. The General Secretary issued a statement where he said regarding China:

"A war so brutal, bloody and barbaric, so total as to rival the Great Patriotic War, will occur in the Far East between the Confucian regime, which has enslaved the Chinese peoples' minds to the clergy, and the fascist regime of the Yamato lords, which have enslaved their peoples' bodies to the Emperor's will."

In response to this act of aggression, the Chinese Armed Forces were placed in high alert with troops near the Soviet Border with Mongolia and Turkestan fully mobilized. The State of Mongolia and The State of Manchuria went into lockdown with no curfew in place(This will only happen if an attack occurs). The Premier of Mongolia, Genghis Battulga, petitioned Beijing to allow volunteer citizens take up arms(rally the citizen militia) and assist, which was granted. Premier of Turkestan, Aygül Zakir, has not petitioned to rally the citizen militia but said she would if the situation got worse.

President Ma replied to the statement by the Soviets saying

"I would like to condemn the actions by the Reds that is jeopardizing our security and peace of mind. Chairman Khodorkovsky is speaking like what we call a Bàotú or thug. The Chairman threatens the people of China like a typical thug. We also state that who the Chinese worship is none of their concern as we do not comment on the religion of Marxist Statism that he seems to promote. With that we have activated our military and we will fight back if the Reds invade our land or find the actions of terrorists. We defeated that ruffian, Mao Zedong, and we will gladly do it again"

President Ma gave this at a press conference where he spoke sternly and addressed the Chairman as a thug.

A coup in Karthspire has resulted in Emperor Arhél II Maravirr Arathárr forming the Third Empire of Karthspire. The previous government's Supreme Leader having been forced to resign. The new leader takes a "Pan Karthspire" approach to foreign policy. President Ma has no formally addressed this neither condemning nor supporting the new regime change so as "to not be hasty given the previous regime's attitude toward the Chinese."

Some have interpreted this "Pan Karthspire" to include the Uyghur people of the State of Turkestan. We interviewed some locals in the city of Ürümqi in Turkestan.

A homosexual pride event became violent when a group of Maoist Communists stormed the event grounds and began beating, stabbing and, pepper spraying the attendees. Shanghai To Legalize Gambling
Gambling in China has mostly been confined to Macau also known as "The Eastern Gambler's Paradise". Macau may have a run for their money as the Muncipality of Shanghai is set to legalize gambling in two weeks time. Already many casinos in Macau are setting up secondary locations to compete with local casinos. This is expected to bring in a lot of revenue as gambling is taxed at local levels with Macau having a 5% Gambling Tax on winnings in a casino. Shanghai proposed a 3% Gambling Tax in a casino. The Chinese Lottery is untaxed and is a huge competitor with the casino industry.

Motherland Day celebrations
Yesterday, only a short while after they rescued our nation from the grip of corrupt clerics, his Imperial Majesty’s Armed Forces were out on parade in the nation’s capital of Elinhir. Through the city’s broad boulevards, lined with patriots of all ages and adorned in the blue, white and black of our nation’s banner, thousands of Karthspiri soldiers as well as armoured units and ceremonial air units paraded in a show of the nation’s military strength as well as to remember all those who’ve made the ultimate sacrifice for the Motherland; particular emphasis for those who served in the Crescent War.

This Motherland Day was different to others and not only because of the record turnout and the presence of an Arathárr. For the first time in Karthspiri history, non-Karthspiri units were invited to march in the Motherland Day parade. Alongside Karthspiri troops and armoured columns making their way to Atsadi Square to observe the Arathárr’s speech, several Platoons of soldiers from the Syrian Arab Republic as well as the Dominion of Karthspiri Ajuuraan took part in the parade. The Syrian Government, naturally, were invited to take part due to their nation’s close ties with our own whilst the Ajuuraani were finally invited to take part following several decades of attempts to diminish their role In the war by the former Islamic Government due to underlying royalist sentiments in the region.

When the forces were finally assembled in Atsadi Square, the Emperor took to a podium to make his speech. Adorned in his military uniform, the dress uniform of the Karthjalárr Force, and his face marked with several scars he’d earned in combat, the Prince addressed the crowds. He cleared his throat and began, “Compatriots, we stand here today, prideful but filled with respect, to remember the sacrifices of those who came before us. Yet, very few of us ever consider that we ourselves may, someday, have to make such a sacrifice. Whilst there is no doubt in my mind that we Karthspiri are still a warrior people, that we have preserved our ways, we must remember that each and every one of us will, someday, have to answer the Motherland’s Call.

When that call does come, not only must we as a collective be ready, but the Motherland herself and the hordes she fields in her defence must be prepared. Whilst our military is mighty, the Motherland is deserving of yet better! Our Army, whilst mighty, can be mightier still and must be mightier still, to be deserving of the honour of defending the motherland!

The world is teetering on a knife’s edge and we must be ready; ready to defend all Karthspiri! When the last war came, we were forced to defend our nation with a mountain of bodies; the sacrifice only needing to be made because we were not ready. The world will come knocking, and when it does, the fury passed to us from the most venerable of our ancestors will be felt the world over. Whether in Kosrivár or Astana, Kabul or Kashgar, Elinhir or Alinair, the call of the Motherland is a call from one of our own to all!”

As the Emperor’s speech wrapped up, chants of “Cser Arathárr, cser Aranthárr” (Long live the Emperor, long live the Empire!) rang out from across the city, drowned out only by the deafening “URAAAA” of the Emperor’s soldiers.

The only other noteworthy speech was given by the nation’s newly elected Prime Minister who announced a huge military expansion program as well as a new package of military aid for Syria including equipment and Officers.

Election Results
Following fresh elections to the Lower House of His Imperial Majesty’s Parliament, the Aria Party took the most seats and is expected to form a Government with the support of another, smaller, right-wing party. The new Prime Minister, Atheil Mesyrkirél, promised a massive economic liberalisation alongside a series of five-year investment plans in-order to accelerate the nation’s economic growth with him having campaigned on a platform to ensure that Karthspire escapes the middle-income trap in a decade at most.

It seems as though our Emperor is not the only one who has noticed the precarious state of the world. The Soviet Union, a large nation well-known for its penchant for alcoholism, tracksuits and moustache bearing communists, has issued mobilisation orders to army groups deployed along the border with several neighbouring nations – our beloved Karthspire included. Whilst many are analysing this move as a form of deterrence, the Defence Ministry responded in kind with several Battle Groups in both the Caucuses and North-East of the country being deployed to the border. When asked for comment, the Defence Ministry published a statement simply saying, “whilst we strive for peace and good relations with all of our neighbours, the movement of military units in such close proximity to our borders cannot simply be ignored. If the Soviets wish to threaten us, we will make sure to give them a bloody nose should the need arise.

Peacekeeping mission proposed
The fledgling nation of the Greater Moluccas has, as is unfortunately common in new nations, seen its internal politics paralysed by divisions and strife. In an attempt to stabilise the situation, the Foreign Ministry has, today, released a draft plan to deploy Karthspiri and Ajuuraani soldiers as peacekeeping forces in Muslim-majority areas of the country with the shared faith granting them a certain legitimacy with the local peoples there. Only time will tell what comes of this proposal.

A friendly correction
Let us be honest, as a people, our naming conventions are somewhat odd. We have our family names, where we were born, a patronymic and our given names; often reversed when we translate them into other languages for ease of understanding. Whilst the reference to our new Emperor as Emperor Arhél II Maravirr Arathárr in the Ephyral paper “The Ephyral Messenger” is appreciated, we’d just like to point out that Arathárr is not, as some believe, part of the Emperor’s name but is, instead, the Karthspiri word for Emperor with honorifics and titles such as Emperor going at the end of one’s name as opposed to the start in some other cultures. Nevertheless, we’re flattered that the Ephyral love the Emperor so much, they named him twice.

Chinese Conference

After months of posturing and intense negotiations, Supreme General Andreo Acero and the Chinese Government have agreed to discuss formal trade relations. In a historic occasion, President Ma of the Kuomotaing Government will be meeting with Supreme General Acero himself in Honolulu, the symbolic gateway between North America and Asia. A diverse set of topics has already been agreed upon between the parties.

The Coalition Dilemma

Cerman President Alan Callahan proposes the realignment of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization into a "Coalition of Democratic Nations". While Ascoobis has stable relations with the major nations around the Pacific Rim that should stave off a war for the moment, the expansion of the former NATO into the East Pacific will bring new nations into the equation and heighten tensions.

Signs show that Ascoobis will seek to serve the role of mediator when hostilities eventually do commence. Delegations have been sent to better relations with the Chinese and Soviets for purposes that could only be speculated at that moment. Very likely to affirm ensure Ascoobis' neutrality as both of their armies mobilize for a hot war. This should serve as a constant reminder that geopolitics is in constant flux and could change in moments.

Unrest in Karthspire

Ascoobis' Stratocratic People's Council expresses its strong support for the new government and direction for the nation, away from the chaos and corruption of democracy. Envoys are en route to establish relations and form economic ties and opportunities with the new regime, now that its usual trade agreements have been, at least temporarily, disrupted.

Troubled Waters

Muddled reports of a Fascist coup in Japan have been proven legitimate by the now-former Ascoobian ambassador to Japan. This "Nihon" Government, as it insists for Japan to now be referred to as has announced for national resources to be poured into a massive naval expansion program. With the pursuit of a force that would provide its Navy with global reach, Nihon anticipates having to have to fight a total war on a global scale within the decade. For all that is known, Ascoobis may be in the crosshairs of Akira Adachihara's ambitions.

Ascoobis has recalled the ambassador back as it analyzes and forms a more appropriate response to this radical new player. They have yet to ban travel from Ascoobis and other select nations, mostly fellow authoritarian states. Unification of various states in Southeast Asia resulted in the federation of "Greater Moluccas". Ascoobis SPC extends its greetings to the newfound union and welcomes it to the international community. The "Leviathan Project"

Yesterday night, our Supreme Admiral Eiichi Ishizaki has announced the planning for a project known as "Project Leviathan." This is a naval project involving building a massive (hence the name "Project Leviathan") defensive line right on the boundary of what is claimed by our navy to be Nihonese controlled waters (OOC: https://cutt.ly/Project-Leviathan). The defense will have several layers:

- The first layer, in the front, will be a large zone spanning the entire massive defensive line, filled with naval mines almost entirely.

- The second layer, will be a zone that will have several aircraft carriers and similar ships stationed. These will be high tech ships, that will have equipped the highest technology of our navy. This includes the missile systems mentioned in our previous news publication. According to Supreme Admiral Ishizaki, these missiles are capable of detecting and shooting down any enemy jets that even dare cross the defensive line, thanks to our single-face active phased array radar the A1-Okane (お金), plus our medium-range surface-to-air missile system, A2 Kishi (騎士), aswell as being capable of being launched at a enemy fleet from a safe distance, due to the extreme range of the missiles, such as the Akashi (赤石) missile, which is a supersonic anti-ship missile that has a effective range of 300-600 km.
The aircraft carriers will also have on them our most advanced jets, which will be capable of easily destroying any enemy that attempts to cross the defensive line.
However, Admiral Ishizaki assured that this is all preparations for a war scenario, and that all foreign jets, airplanes, and ships are free to cross the pacific, and that this will in no way affect anything outside of Nihon controlled waters. Anyone who wishes to cross Nihon controlled waters is allowed to do so, as this defensive line is only to prepare against sudden enemy attacks.

- The third layer will begin in areas that are near the coast of any Nihon controlled land. This layer will even extend to certain parts of any Nihonese territory shores. This will mostly be the layer created for communication and coordination of the defensive line, or the layer that transmits and recieves radio signals, etc.
Any information that is received here, aswell as transmitted, is directly sent to the high command, 24/7.

Finally, all other Nihonese controlled water outside of the defensive line, will be constantly patrolled by the Nihonese navy, to make sure no surprise attacks can be done.

Although many details have not been released yet, it is said that the military will see a massive organizational reconstruction.
As of what we know now, this includes:

- Creating several "elite" army groups, which will be the most professional and well equipped
- Creating even more then several "plain" army groups, which will be as well equipped as is possible for such a large military section. These will mostly be the troops made to hold the line in case of a conflict, while the troops above will be the main attacking troops.
- Creating many special forces divisions, of many different classes, including the "navy" class, the "army" class, the "airborne" class, and the "neutralizer" class.
- Revamping the military police

Nihon Naval Project Has China On Edge
The new project of the Nihon Navy or "Project Levithian" has increased Nihonese naval patrols as well as the mining of the Pacific Ocean. This project can pose a threat to Chinese ships and planes, despite the instance by the state. The Navy stated that if any Chinese boat or plane is attacked or is damaged it will be seen as an attack against China.

Temple Turns 115
The Wong Tai Shin temple in Hong Kong turned 115 years old today. The temple held a service that involved the offerings of incense and joss paper to the Immortal figure Master Wong Tai Shin or simply "Master Wong". Priests performed a ritual dance to Master Wong, Master Confuscius, Master Lao, Master Jesus and, The Three Saints(Lü Dongbin, Guan Yu and Lord Gian). The event became carnival like in nature with food vendors, soothsayers and fireworks. Master Wong is a prominent figure in Hong Kong and is seen as a sort of patron of the city. The event was attended by locals and curious tourists.

Massive Fire In Kashgar
Kashgar Central Mall erupted into flames this afternoon following reports of a gas smell in the basement of the mall. The fire immediately became a 4 Alarm Fire with multiple casualties reported, mostly burns. Many deaths were reported after the initial explosion with the medical examiner predicting a substantial amount of deaths. The fire is reported to be contained and is nearly extinguished thanks to the quick response of the local fire brigades. The gas to Central Kashgar was cut off and will be cut off until the fire is fully extinguished.
