Also, we want to buy Greenland for the resources, so making it independent sounds like a terrible idea, because then why would we buy it?

Christianity was originally absolutely monotheistic like Judaism and Islam.
Early Christians followed Mosaic Law and worshipped by prostrating to the One God (who art in heaven).
Soon they developed a seperate creed which stated that Jesus was the Son of God and was given the Spirit of God and that worshipping Jesus Christ was the true manner of achieving Salvation.
Eventually this developed into the Trinity as taught by Paul.

One faction or group of factions reigns supreme and guess what, some form of government is back. If no faction manages to claim the throne the land devolves into a lawless wasteland
