Hello, I'm Toerana, commonly known as BowShot to those off you who know me offsite, and I'm running for Prime Minister this election.

"So, BowShot, how'd you join Thalassia?"
Good Question, Pacifica, the region before Thalassia, was the first region I ever stayed in, right as Cormac became Delegate. One day, I was checking my nation and chatting on the RMB when I got at telegram. So, as per usual, I opened and read it. Cormac was insane enough to offer me a job! As his Secretary of Foreign Affairs. This was where I got my first taste of government life and I enjoyed my time. I was in and out of Pacifica a lot over the past year, but I've always considered it my home and enjoyed whenever I was in the region. Fast forward to when Sho was Prime Minister. DRUS, the Minister of Culture at the time and a friend of mine, resigned from his post as Minister of Culture. I'd had this account in the region for a little while, and I was starting to be a bit more active on the RMB around July. So, when Sho said applications were open, I said "screw it," and applied. I was accepted and become Sho's Minister of Culture, founding and outlining much of what Culture runs today. I was in my position through Sho's two terms, including the transition to Thalassia, and when Bad won his election, I was offered a job and was Minister of Culture up until my resignation, surrounding drama in Lazarus we ignore the fact I'm banned there. I have made an attempt to be more active within the RP community, but I have a habit of writing a lot, not finishing and then just not coming back to it. It's a bad habit of mine.

Gulp. Lazarus isn't one of my proudest moments. I had been a citizen for not to long when I was approached to join Lazarus' Military, infact, instead of writing this all here. See my trial. I leaked a couple of things from the discord of the Lazerene Guard in an attempt to forwarn friends in the warzones of raids. Sadly, one of the people I leaked to was a bit bold, and the TNP ratted on me ;-;

Oh well, I hold no hard feelings against Lazarus, I'm just banned for 2 years. Oops.

My Experience
On my time on NationStates (roughly a year), I have had jobs in some regions, notably Thalassia, Voltarium and the odd thing in the Rejected Realms.
I was:

• Secretary of Foreign Affairs in Pacifica
  Although FA isn't my favourite area, I did learn some valuable lessons within that department, and I thank Cormac for giving me the opportunity.

• Minister of Culture in Pacifica/Thalassia
  This has been my longest running job and I thoroughly enjoyed it, although I was not the best with time keeping. I thank both Bad and Sho for not kicking me out when I got a bit annoying.

• Councillor/Emperor's Councillor/I kinda forgot the Job Title of Internal Affairs in Voltarium
  I hope to think I was a big part in Voltarium for a while, helping out strongly in their Internal Affairs area, running a few programs. Voltarium was also the place that I learnt how enjoyable roleplay is, it had a great group of roleplayers although the region refounded recently.

• Deputy Officer of Outreach in The Rejected Realms
  I was one of two Deputies in TRR under Bormiar, some people in the gov may know him from N-Day, I did a little bit of work, including writing the RMB Guide for the region, and doing some formatting stuff that ultimately wasn't used.
  However, I am somehow an RMB moderator in the region, after Kyo appointed me and Jack kept me. I like to think I'll do a decent job.

My Plan

• Culture
  Culture is my passion, it has been by far my most enjoyable time in Thalassia and I hope to invest heavily in the department, alongside my Minister, whomever that may be.
  I am very much interested in cards, and hope to provide card based rewards for all aspects of Thalassian life.

• Security
  Security is and will be a primary focus for me if I am elected. I will be looking to maintain proscriptions on regions proscribed, as to maintain our regional security, as well as work with the Minister, whomever that may be, to ensure Thalassia remains safe. This may be identifying possible threats to the community, and working with offsite moderation to ensure potential offsite targets are monitored, although that drifts slightly outside of the departments role. Recently there has been the destruction of the Confederation of Conservative Nation's discord, and that is a horrifying event that I, and Thalassia, stand firmly against. No community deserves anything to be destroyed, regardless of who they are.

• Foreign Affairs
  Ah yes, my old friend of Foreign Affairs. I'll be honest, that area does not interest me, but, I will be aiming to maintain the ambassador reports that occur, and I will also be looking to work with the Ministers of both FA and Information to public press releases and FA updates to keep our allies informed and friendly. Another key goal for Foreign Affairs is, well, foreign relations. Thalassia is blessed with some amazing friends and allies, such as those in Osiris & Democratic Socialist Assembly, and I hope to expand culture events with these regions and bring Thalassia into some fabulous new, strong friendships with our embassy regions and more.

• Information
  Newspaper and regional updates. Information's goal will be to keep everyone informed, and alongside our counterparts in NSToday, work to produce the regional newspaper, assuming it's feasible. If I am honest, this is the department I have the least ideas for.

I'm not endorsing anyone but I just wanted to know how you think your presence as FA minister will affect Thalassia's FA seeing as, you know, your banned from lazarus for leaking classified information?

As I am aware of some disdain that I remained in my position for so long after the opening of the trial from multiple members of wider GP, I can see people disliking the fact, if I am elected, I am Prime Minister. However, FA isn't my favourite spot, or my most able spot, so I will likely be taking a more hands off approach on foreign affairs, leaving a lot to my Minister to have quite a bit of independence. As for the leaking of information, I'm aware I didn't exactly a smart move in leaking classified information, but Thalassia is not a place I wonder even consider leaking from, I would have nothing to gain and lots to loose. I had nothing to loose in Laz and all to gain. Paired with that, I sincerely value Thalassia and would hate to anger it's citizens. Although, being honest, you're just going to have to trust my word. I have things I can cite from other games, but they aren't appropriate for here. I make my moves to protect those people and regions I value, Thalassia is one. To leak from Thalassia is to betray my core beliefs.

I hope any position I may hold does not effect Thalassia, I hold no hard feelings towards Lazarus. I broke their law and the court punished me accordingly. If they wish to cut or harm ties with Thalassia over me, then, I personally say, "So What?" I do not believe anyone would be interested in cutting ties with Thalassia over me, I am very confident that Lazarus simply does not care about me given some conversations in other regions that I cannot share. If this didn't answer your question, I apologise and feel free to point out what you weren't happy with.

Transparency is the most important part in an election.

While that's awkward, if I am elected then that'd have to be a conversation that myself and my cabinet would have to have as to how we'd work in that situation, but it would likely involve discussion either via my Minister of Foreign Affairs, their Deputy, or closed door discussion directly with the relevant party/parties in Osiris, yourself as an example, as to how we negotiate that situation. However, that is not a reason to close and end relations with Osiris, I feel the treaty is an important part of our relations, and an important part of Thalassian Foreign Affairs, and any end in relations would not come from myself or the Cabinet, and I would hope that if Osiris does choose to withdraw from the treaty over me, it would be after discussion between myself, my MoFA and the relevant Osirian parties. I would feel very guilty, but It would be a tricky situation that it is more than likely I am not able to completely answer now.

RP - Avalonia Seeks to Promote Democratic Socialism

In Avalonia, we have the Freedom System. It is a form of economics in which our taxes pay for all goods and services to be provided for free. It has been refined since 1672 to create the modern super-structure that is Avalonian economic planning. Incorporating manufacturing unions and industrial democracy, the system is so ingrained in Avalonia that Avalonia is sometimes even referred to as the Commonwealth Freedom. But this identity as a socialist nation forms the dual identity of Avalonia with democracy. The first Parliament was founded in 1275, and became the highest acting body of state, surpassing the Royal House, in 1735, when King Frederik renounced the monarch's absolute power. Since then, Avalonia has become one of the largest and most democratic nation in the world. Both ideas - democracy and the freedom - are ingrained in the Avalonian identity, and it is unthinkable for many Avalonians for things to be any other way.

But on the international stage, Avalonia struggles to have a full understanding of how some socialist nations justiify their actions. Avalonia believes that any socialist nation is not truly socialist until it has democratized governmental power. We in Köbarnhavn believe all nations should engage in democracy and a freedom-like socialism. But we are clear with the order - Democracy must take a priority in any society, socialist or not. This is why we would like to gauge interest in a League of the Democratic Left . This league would be where democratic nations practicing socialism or a state system on the left-end of capitalism, like the welfare state, would come together to promote democracy, human rights, and social policies for equality.

We encourage any democratic leftist nation to join with us in creating this league. New Camelot of Avalonia offers the beautiful city of Stenorholm, a self-declared Human Rights City, as the host city for the league's headquarters and operations.

Wiskawga For Thalassia

I'm Wiskawga, and I'm running for the office of Prime Minister of Thalassia.

In all of my time on NationStates, I've been in Pacifica and its successor, our current region. I'm honored to have served the two regions as the first Minister of Information and the first Minister of Security. I've witnessed and experienced many events, and I have taken these events and experiences to shape myself into the person I am now. Throughout everything, the interests of Pacifica, and then Thalassia, have always been my priorities. Should you elect me to be your Prime Minister, I intend to further improve our great region by making it more inclusive and ensuring that your voice matters.

To better our region, I have set goals:

Improve our foreign relations: this includes hosting and participating in interregional events and co-operating to create treaties to formalise our alliances;

Hold regular regional events, such as special RPs, and promoting our events;

Creating a "suggestion box" where residents could share their ideas and recommend proposals;

Look into possibly establishing a judiciary to interpret laws and prevent unjust actions against residents of Thalassia;

and

Create a roleplay summary to help players keep up with what's been happening in RP.

This campaign is for you. This campaign is about keeping Thalassia safe, making sure your voice is heard, and making it a region that you can truly enjoy being in.

RENEW, REVITALIZE, REFORM

Hello, Thalassia, my name is Arenado and I am standing to be the next Prime Minister of our illustrious region. If you could give me a moment of your time I would like to explain my platform and why I am standing for the Prime Ministership.

The first pillar of my campaign is Renew Roleplay. I have been working, in tandem with the Ministry of Culture and others, on a few roleplay projects, of which one should be ready by February. I will also be approaching the roleplaying community and working with the Minister of Culture to see what the government can do to foster and expand our current roleplay community.

The second pillar is Revitalizing Recruitment. In my position as Deputy Minister of Information I have had the privilege to learn the ropes from the eminently capable Sho. Recruitment is one of the most important cornerstones for our region and to that end I would propose reforms that will make our already impressive recruitment campaigns even better. To that end…

...The third pillar (and the most important in my view) is Administrative Reform. As it stands now our government has some potential holes and redundancies. To that end I would embark on an ambitious effort to reform our government and administration, rationalizing the ministries, eliminating redundancies and opening the government up more, allowing more transparency and more pathways to civil service.

Arenado

I think Arenado has both some great ideas as well as possessing the right temperament and good judgment needed to be a great leader for the region. He's also the only candidate to even mention recruitment in his campaign dispatch, and I think it's important to have a Prime Minister who understands the vital role recruitment plays in sustaining an active and healthy region.

I don't want to disparage the other candidates, but I'll be blunt: I believe the situation with Toerana iii's behavior in Lazarus and its potential impact on our foreign affairs should he be elected to be disqualifying at this point. Maybe after more time has passed. I think Wiskawga has some decent ideas and has shown dedication, but I am as I was at the time of the last Presidential and Prime Minister elections vehemently opposed to a judicial system. They don't work well in NationStates and they lead to bad outcomes in which needed consequences are delayed or never even happen because of poorly functioning judicial systems. So I can't in good conscience support a candidate who advocates for a judicial system.

In summary, I think Arenado is the right person for the job at this time, and I hope you'll all take a look at his campaign dispatch and consider voting for him when voting begins. Thanks for your time!
