The Kilkirian Oireachtas is heatedly debating what to do about Kilkire's burgeoning manual labor shortages, as Kilkire's education system continuously failed year after year to turn out enough manual laborers to suit the nations industrial needs. Even with the automation of many industries, there is a shockingly low amount of citizens with the knowledge required to repair cars, build machinery, or work out civilian job needs, like carpenters, wood workers, and plumbers. Far and away the largest failing in the Kilkirian school systems is a lack of any focus on shop. This leads to two main problems; 1. Not enough manual workers to run the behind the scenes. 2. Too many workers designed to work in offices, as lawyers, or doctors. There is simply not a high enough demand to keep all of them employed, this has lead to a pay drop for many highly specialized employees, causing them to seek work abroad, with better paying jobs and better employment opportunities. From the point of view of the Oireachtas, there are two solutions to this. Either 1. Raise taxes and reform the education system for a greater implication on shop. This is mainly supported by the Páirtí an Rí, while opposing the tax increase, wants to search for the long terms answer. 2. Instead of fixing the problem domestically, look internationally, and higher foreign laborers looking to immigrate to Kilkire. This is supported by the Páirtí na Saoirse, who thinks that foreign talent and practices to bring much needed experience and techniques, as well as to jump start the industry.
