A Push for Owning the Air
The Il Duce looked at the reports coming in from Finland and he was not pleased. While the soldiers sent were doing well one thing always made them fail at their tasks. The equipment, rifles that would jam, planes that would not perform like he was told, and tanks that were used as emplacements instead of weapons. If his nation was to fight against others and he to rebuild the Roman Empire he must make his army his airforce better. But there was only so much he could do for now, moves he could make. He knew that airpower was one of the easier things to take care of, tanks would have to come at a later date. So he grabbed a paper and began to write. By his order he would begin nation wide competion for three new aircraft a Fighter that could carry a full set of equipment, cannons, machine guns the works. A bomber that could fly from spain to turkey and carry a heavy payload, and then a strike bomber that could rival the german stuka. Which on another note he sent letter to by some planes from the Germans so he could compare them to what will come. It will take time for this competition to bare fruit. But he had time well until the germans pushed for what they wanted. Yet there he had time the germans would wait Hitler had told him they would push for a late war sometime in the mid 1940s by then his nation would be ready and he would be more than willing to make their secert alliance a true one.

The Winter War
Another month of fighting has shown varying results across all fronts of the Winter War.
As the Soviet Union begins to reinforce it's armies along the border with the Republic of Finland, the Finnish Army has had increasingly harder times dislodging Soviet defense positions.
Finnish troops managed to capture Kanti, cutting the Soviets off from the rest of Murmansk by land, while in the South the Finnish Army encircled Petroskoi (Petrosavdansk), the capital of SSR Karelia.
In the Baltics, the entire front has come to a grinding halt as the exhausted troops failed to advance in both the North and South once more, and lacking supplies to launch another major offensive without a risky gamble.
Karelia has seen a revolt in Soviet controlled territory, from Petroskoi to Murmansk, with Karelian and ethnic Sami peoples openly defying the Red Army and pushing for support of the Finnish to liberate their towns, in some cases forming small militia bands for sabotage and support missions along and behind the front.
The Finnish have seized Valkeasaan, and have managed to Encircle the northern sectors of Leningrad. President Mannerheim had hoped that by now his Baltic counterparts would have linked up with Finnish units south of Leningrad, but the clear inability of the Baltic troops to push any farther than Ivangorod has led him to consider directing more men and resources to the front on the Karelian Isthmus.

Negotiations Begin
The Republic of Finland has agreed to host Soviet Minister Molotov in Vipurii following a complete Encirclement of Leningrad, and the victory of Finnish Soldiers in capturing the majority of Karelia with assistance from troops of the United Kingdom, The Kingdom of Italy, Norway, and Sweden. Alongside Baltic troops in the South.
The Republic of Finland has agreed not to alter the border near the city of Leningrad, but has laid out its intent to demand the ceding of Karelia proper, and the purchase of the Kola Peninsula in exchange for peace.
Increasingly supportive rhetoric coming from the German Reich has put more pressure on the USSR to make peace immediately so that it can prepare to fight the real enemy, a nation that has structured its rebirth of the culling of communism and a plethora of other races of people. In doing so it is likely the Soviet Union will request a defensive agreement from the Republic of Finland in the event of a German invasion, a compromise that President Mannerheim has already said he will not agree to.
Reports from the north.
With the war in the north over the Il duce has gotten the reports now full from the war front. While the "War" lasted a short bit of time that time was able to bring new officers into the field and show the. MASSIVE. deficiencies within the Italian army. Supplies were hardly sent to the front, weapons and tanks were practically useless. Hell the majority of the time Italian heavy equipment was ditched for soviet or finish ones. But now that he has these reports he will be able to push for further reforms and make the Italian army better. Of course complete reforms are going to take some time the old guard holds strong within the council of fascism but for now he can truly begin moving some pieces around until his empire can truly hold its own.
The End of Hostilities
Winter War Draws to a Close
The Republic of Finland and the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics have signed the Vipurii Accords of 1939, officially ending the Winter War, and hostilities between the Republic and the Soviet Union.
Frontline units are called to take static formation, as the terms of the treaty and border adjustments are proclaimed.
The Republic of Finland will gain the lands of Karelia proper, and will be allowed to purchase the Kola Peninsula, which was originally offered to it in exchange for it piece of Karelia, for a sum of several million Markkas. In addition to this, both nations will commit to a Defensive Agreement, in which Finland will be prohibited from allowing potential Soviet enemy's troops from being allowed Military access. To ensure this process is met, the USSR has been allowed to station a single officer corp in the port of Turku to monitor the situation.
The Finno-Soviet Border in the Karelian Isthmus will remain unchanged, however Finland will be required to submit monthly reports of its military maneuvers in the region to Soviet counterparts to ensure that it is not able to get the jump on the Union again like it was able to months ago.
The Republic of Finland has committed a massive lump sum of Markkas to the integration of the Karelian region. Noting this however, and expecting something in return for their loyal service in defense of Finland in the Winter War, the Republic of Estonia has requested recognition as a Nordic State, abandoning its Baltic neighbors to join the ranks of Sweden, Norway, Iceland, Denmark and Finland.
We are happy to hear that the hostilities have ended between Finland and the Soviet Union and that Finland has gained quite a bit of land from it. Hopefully, now that this Winter War is over peace will remain in Europe but that may be a long shot with how aggressive the USSR is.
Production has ramped up for the British military after an inspection revealed how aged and aging our current stock of vehicles and tanks are. Also our fleet could use some more ships to prepare for the challenges ahead. We have recieved some new things from the Americans under the lend-lease act but we do not want to become too reliant on help from the Yanks.
Albania folds
The Regino Marina along with multiple Italian marine division floated outside of the ports of Albania. The Il Duce sent a demand for King Zog to surrender and allow his state to be annexed by the italian for his own protection. A part of King Zog wanted to fight but knew it wouldn't be worth it, so he opened his doors for the italians to come in and stepped down as king and fled to Jordan-hare to live his life in exile and maybe one day return to his homeland free from italian rule.
We are happy to take in the exiled King Zog and his family. We will supply a nice place for him to live and will take in as many Albanians who wish to leave and get away from the Italian invasion.
