Thereʻs a difference between the opinion, "I donʻt think bell bottom jeans look good," and "I donʻt think your oppression and disenfranchisement is a bad thing."

One might hurt someoneʻs feelings, and the other is complicit to the harm of others

Orcuo wrote:Well it’s my opinion and am sorry if it hurts someone else’s feelings but that’s going happen

So why hold an opinion that hurts people?

Bistritza wrote:...what? sir this is an NA meeting.

Is this the TSP forums, Petea, is Bistritza a gambling addict on the forums

Bistritza wrote:...what? sir this is an NA meeting.

Natrium?

Sir, that’s not what salted bomb means

Orcuo wrote:Well it’s my opinion and am sorry if it hurts someone else’s feelings but that’s going happen

Now I'll sanction you for...*looks at list* Being very anti LGBTQIA+ and publicly displaying that opinion

British Bharat wrote:Is this the TSP forums, Petea, is Bistritza a gambling addict on the forums

No, it was a one time thing. By the time Bistritza made the first comment on the RMB about gambling he had already stopped.

Evinea wrote:So why hold an opinion that hurts people?

In that case anti-fascist is bad because it’s hurting fascist

‘Publicly displaying that opinion’
Is a key word

Okay, thank you, I know Bistritza is not insane

Evinea wrote:So why hold an opinion that hurts people?

Hardcore feminists when someone tells them it takes more than one sperm cell for fertilization because the immune system kills most of them

Fascism is inherently damaging system. Can’t compare the two.

Not sure what that means, but ok.

The new roak flag is based on the current leader’s banner

Even if Bistritza were addicted to gambling, people who are addicted to something arenʻt necessarily insane.

Fascists choose to identify with a worldview that fundamentally encourages the suffering of others. I never chose to be gay.

Not sure what that means, but ok.

Just reminded me of a twitter post of a hardcore feminist saying that one man could provide enough sperm to impregnate all women, and so men don’t need to exist

K, that’s interesting, to say the least.

Recommendation

OWL recommends voting  AGAINST  the at-vote resolution, "Protecting Free, Open Source Software Use". The Delegate has been asked to cast their vote accordingly.

Please find below the Office's Analysis for an examination of the resolution and the reasons for the final recommendation.

The Office's Analysis

The at-vote resolution "Protecting Free, Open Source Software Use" seeks to expand universal access to free and open-source software ("FOSS"). To that end, it requires member nations to allow all individuals unrestricted rights to access, run, edit, and redistribute FOSS, as well as to recognize basic copyright authority of the developers of FOSS.
The Office sympathizes with the goal of expanding and protecting access to FOSS, as this would allow individuals more opportunity to unleash their creativity and freely develop important new technology.
However, we fear that this purpose might be hindered by the proposal's active clause 1b, which draws FOSS, to a "limited" (but not further specified) extent, into regular copyright law ‒ while certainly well-intentioned to protect FOSS developers, this has a dangerous potential to spin out of control, right into the highly problematic issues with standard copyright law, which FOSS was principally intended to avoid. Furthermore, the Office is critical as to whether the proposal actually expands access to FOSS: While FOSS is explicitly defined to include "purposes which may be illegal in other jurisdictions", active clause 1a only grants universal access for "legal purpose[s]", thus effectively reserving member states the right to haphazardly ban undesired FOSS functionality, which would defeat the whole purpose of the proposal.

Thus, OWL recommends a vote AGAINST the at-vote resolution, "Protecting Free, Open Source Software Use".

Ok what about anti-Christian, what if I don’t like Christians?
Also I would like to point out something:
Being homophobic means, ‘having or showing a dislike of or prejudice against gay people.’ And you said that why hold on into a belief that hurts people.
So by that logic, simply disliking a gay person is hurting them… doesn’t make much sense
