Game Councils
WA - World Assembly
The World Assembly (WA) is the optional, site-wide international governing body that acts as the competitive multiplayer hub of NationStates. By joining, a nation agrees to be bound by global laws and gains the ability to issue endorsements, elect Regional Delegates, and author international proposals. It is split into two distinct operational chambers:GA (General Assembly): The legislative council focused on global social, economic, and political policies. Resolutions passed here instantly alter your nation's internal statistics, ratings, and tax brackets.SC (Security Council): The council focused strictly on interregional gameplay and political recognition. Rather than changing nation stats, it interacts with regional mechanics by commending exceptional players, condemning rogue regimes, or liberating occupied regions from invaders.
GA - General Assembly
The General Assembly focuses entirely on ideological and structural international law. What it does: It passes global resolutions that directly alter your nation's political and economic statistics.Examples: GA resolutions cover topics like environmental standards, civil rights, trade laws, or labor protections.
SC - Security Council
The Security Council focuses strictly on gameplay, military intervention, and regional mechanics. What it does: It interacts directly with the player-versus-player (PvP) mechanics of the game rather than shifting internal nation stats.Actions it can take:Commend / Condemn: Officially rewards or shames a specific nation or region for historic actions.Liberate: Forces an invaded or password-locked region open so refugees or defenders can re-enter.Injunction: Locks down a region’s status so raiders cannot change its security settings.
