Lusitaníadas II - Now It's Personal
.
Gather 'round, young travellers, for today we declare open season in regards to interregional competitions...
These next few categories will comprise some of the most difficult challenges a creative mind can encounter in their journey through the land of yonder (for legal reasons Wonderland was not available).
This competition, the Lusitaníadas, will be a testament to the bonds that link Portugal to some of its most important allies: Europe, European Union and last, but definitely least, Suns Reach.
We hope to have a great turnout from other regions as well and want to lead this competition to a very successful conclusion, in which we (our judges) will determine the best works of art and creativity, so that we can properly sacrifice the relevant artists to the Creator: Piatinum bees.
Now, fellow nations of these NationStates, let us begin this race for the ultimate prize of establishing primacy amongst the art nerds!

The Judging System
While the judges may choose honorary mentions, valueless digital medals will only be awarded to the top 3 of each competition. Take into account that judges reserve the right to share or publish the artwork submited in dispatches announcing the winners. |
Draw a personification of your Country (like Marianne for France or Uncle Sam for the US)
Include Max Barry (the creator of the website) in your drawing
Include an Owl (if you want to be specific, an Eurasian eagle-owl)
Limit your flag to 3 colours
Use this colour in the flag (Hex Code: #8700ff)
Integrate the following symbol into the flag (you can modify it in anyway as long as the basic shapes remain recognizable):
Add decorations (such as sea monsters or angels blowing...)
Include both political borders and biome divisions
Use this map as a base (you can alter in in any way or focus in on a specific part, but the coastlines must remain unchanged):
For the drawing contest competitors are free to draw whatever they want. However, competitors are incentivized to participate in mini-challenges which will grant them extra points beyond the judge's valuations. There are three (3) of these small challenges of which every submission must do at least one (1) (or else it will be desqualified):
Competitors are limited to 1 submission.
Submissions may be accompanied by a small artist statement of up to 150 words.
