We announce that the Chairman of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR, Comrade Shavkat Mirimonovich Mirziyoyev, has arrived in East Berlin, ahead of the celebrations in honour of the 75th anniversary of the founding of the Der Deutscher Volksbund on 7 October.
Comrade S.M. Mirziyoyev will join the leadership of East Germany on the grandstand, and will observe the annual Military Parade and Demonstration of the Workers. This year, the Parade and Demonstration of the Workers will take place on the world-famous Unter den Linden street; begin at the Brandenburg Gate, marching toward the Palace of the Republic, and past the Berlin Cathedral.
This year, for the first time in the history of the 7 October parade, soldiers of the Soviet 20th Guards Red Banner Army’s illustrious 3rd Vislenskaya Red Banner Order of Suvorov and Kutuzov Motor Rifle Division will March in the Military Parade. These troops will be drawn from the 752nd Guards Petrokovskaya twice Red Banner, Orders of Suvorov, Kutuzov and Bogdan Khmelnitsky Motor Rifle Regiment. At their head will be the Regiment’s commanding officer, Comrade Colonel General Vladimir Borisovich Zarudnitsky. Following behind, a copy of Victory Banner #5 shall be carried immediately behind the State Flag of the USSR, and the Regimental Standard shall be carried immediately behind Victory Banner #5 by members of the Moscow Commandant's Regiment Honor and Colors Guards. The Soviet contingent will march in the middle portion of the Parade.
Shavkat Mirimonovich will be staying at the Hotel Adlon Kempinski Berlin for the duration of his visit to East Berlin. Comrade Mirziyoyev will return to Moscow on 9 October 2024. In total, he will spend five full days in East Germany.
