I think it's a good question.

For one, I only have the budget to fund stamps for certain periods of time. My hope is that after 2-3 weeks of stamp recruitment, we can build a strong core region with a recruitment officer who helps with manual recruitment. Hasn't happened quite yet.

Secondly, we've tried two major revival attempts. One featured extensive offsite properties like a Discord and a forum. In this case, activity became very fractured (many nations didn't want to join either) and it was difficult to make the best use of our eager members. In the second instance, I actually felt lie people really wanted a Discord but I held back because I was wary of the first time around.

Ultimately, I think Venice is a special place. We already had a rich and interesting history. I wish we could make it more sustainable somehow. We have some nations who have stuck with us for several months, and I am open to them taking the reigns and I will support as Doge in any way I can. I just can't indefinitely push RL $$ into the region or be the only one pushing things forward.
