Hello, Kodiak friends!

The URA recommends a non-binding vote FOR "Repeal: “Liberate Utopia”" by a vote of 20.84% FOR, 0.00% AGAINST, and 15.98% ABSTAIN.

URA World Assembly Recommendation

Repeal: “Liberate Utopia”
Forum debate
Security Council Resolution #13 “Liberate Utopia” shall be struck out and rendered null and void.

The Security Council,

Acknowledging that “Liberate Utopia” served an essential purpose in helping Utopia’s residents reclaim their region from rogues, at a time when the region lacked the means to do so itself, restoring Utopia’s idyllic and positive environment,

Noting that the specific security concerns and administrative disruptions that prompted SC#13 to be written have been fully resolved by the region’s current residents and global circumstances,

Observing that no native population of Utopia remains, its founding nations and long-standing residents before its refounding having long since ceased to exist, leaving only recently arrived nations with no historical claim to the region predating this Council’s original intervention,

Recognizing that the Security Council’s resolutions are meant to uphold durable principles rather than preserve dated concerns and grievances,

Reflecting that the vulnerability following the loss of Utopia’s founder, Utopian thoughts, left the region genuinely exposed, and SC#13’s intervention played a real part in seeing it through that period,

Further reflecting that the circumstances behind the one-time occurrence belong to a specific chapter in Utopia’s history that has since closed,

Noting further that the residents of Utopia took matters into their own hands, refounding the region and entrusting it in their own community,

Aware that Utopia, like any other founderless region, can rely on established defender coalitions to defend itself, coordinated through networks such as Libcord, which monitor and respond to raids regardless of formal treaty ties or Security Council resolutions,

Understanding that this Council repeals liberation resolutions once a region has shown long-term stability and no longer requires active World Assembly intervention, as with the recent repeal of “Liberate Portugal de Esquerda,” where the resolution was recognized as unable to serve its intended function without a governor to enforce it, leaving the text ineffective without any active protective effort, and as with the repeal of “Liberate Syria,” where invading forces were found to no longer pose a threat to the region, as they were long gone,

Exhausted that “Liberate Utopia” has stood 17 years past the events that needed it, far longer than its original purpose,

Hereby repeals “Liberate Utopia”.

This Security Council resolution was authored by L V M H and aims to repeal SCR#13, Liberate Utopia.

The United Regions Alliance recommends that you vote FOR this resolution

This resolution seeks to repeal SCR#13, which liberated Utopia following its occupation by hostile forces. However, those forces have since been overthrown, and the natives of the region are now free to self-organise their own defence. The URA supports this restoration of local governance, and thus urges a vote FOR this resolution.

Arguments from members of the URA included:

Yeah, we seriously need to define language families. Pronto.

Gibraltir wrote:For me, I keep an eye out for the Alpine and Aston Martin F1 teams.

Both of them suck except for Ocon in Hungary 2021 and Gasly at Monza this year

Aston Martin has just been a JOKE

I also have a soft spot for Cadillac and Audi but both of them have just been doing the same as Aston Martin

Aston Martin has always been a backmarker in F1. They mostly just collect data for Honda at this point, they're never really competitive. Alpine is decent as a team, and that lap at Monza from Gasley was pretty awesome, but we all saw how long that pole position gave him the lead.

Cadillac was kinda expected to fail, since they're a brand new team and they're developing their own power unit. Audi is just Kick Sauber reskinned, and there was an interesting Alpine-Sauber rivalry last season, but Alpine is kind of pulling away with the new regs. I'm just surprised by how much McLaren has been struggling, because they're running the same power unit as Mercedes, who is undesputed king of the track this season in regards to cars on the grid. I'm just glad Lewis Hamilton is having a better season this year, he's my second favorite driver to Kimi Antonelli

In our case, we've kind of already built a linguistic "skeleton," which would be the Arlo-Hinokan languages, and the current subdivision is the Drakanic languages.

Wait, is Fjordlandian part of the drakanic languages? I thought it Drakanic and Arlo-Hinonkan were the other way around, with AH being the umbrella.

Treat Arlo-Hinokan as belonging to the Indo-European family, and the Drakanic languages as a branch of that family, as well as the Germanic languages. Fjordlandian would be the "oldest" and best-preserved language of that branch.

DO NOT ABBREVIATE ARLO-HINONKAN!
