I don't think the Canadians would give the Democrats a majority. Their politics do not align with the Democratic or Republican parties. I have had a lot of Canadian friends over the years and I would say they would defuse into other parties or make their Canadian parties into new American ones once forcibly exposed to a greater worldview.

Overall, I have found Canadians to be the most violent, anti-humanist, and poorly educated people I have ever known though. They lack curiosity and willingness to grow emotionally and mentally. And they often see other cultures through a lens of complete... How to even put it? Jovial hatred without the ability to acknowledge the hatred because they are that emotionally stunted.

I have three Canadian friends who thought Abraham Lincoln was black and a Democrat, that the Republican party was founded wholly on perpetuating the ritualized murder of blacks up until 1991, and that Canada never had indigenous people until the Americans drove them north. When confronted about this, they said it was what they were taught in school. I have one Canadian friend who is so incapable of understanding the Maori, that when that woman started a hakka, she thought the Maori had to be exterminated for being racist against the Maori. And I have one friend in Alberta (and in my experience, Albertans are the best Canada has to offer) who thinks whipped cream grows on trees - literally that you crack open a walnut-like plant pod and it puffs out from the decreased pressure.

And they never questioned it.

So instead of going straight into the Democratic party, I think a lot of Canadians would be exposed to a shock that would take decades to work out. During this time, they would be too overwhelmed and likely would scattershot their voting in a way that would favor nobody but the Libertarians because at least the Libertarian Canadians are more or less on the same page as the Libertarian Americans.
